I have a 2006 Kawasaki Mule 610 4x4. Same engine, but not fuel injected like today's models. It's been an excellent work horse. If it was stolen today, I would replace with the machine show cased here. I have narrow trails with narrow bridges. A pickup truck can't access my property. I would be lost without my Mule. Time to go split some firewood, which gets thrown right into the back of my Mule as I am splitting it.
I have a yxz1000, but we bought my wifes dad this exact mule! He loves it, he already bought a windshield and roof, the grand kids love to ride around in the bed around the property, its perfect!
I had the Polaris 400 that I lost to a garage fire.when looking for a new s x s I bought the mule because it was about $600 cheaper. I like the mule’s look’s and build quality is good,with a steel bed instead of the plastic bed of the Polaris.i honestly like the Polaris better,the mule is very slow compared to the Polaris with it easily being twice as fast at 50 mph.the other thing about the mule is it literally sounds like it’s tearing it’s self to pieces.I will say however the mule is built like a tank ,the dash and interior of the mule is also nicer with the floorboard being steel as compared to the plastic floorboard of the Polaris.So if you don’t mind the slow speed and it very loud ,like it is.It is cheaper and seems to be of good quality.though my Polaris never gave me a bit of trouble the 700 hrs. I owned it.There is more storage in the mule also with good storage under the seat and a lot under front hood which the Polaris just had a glove compartment.
I have a 2012. Got it used from a guy I hunt with, he wanted a Polaris. After addressing the things he neglected it’s been superb! Starts every time, handles trails well as well as yard chores . The older ones need a bit more lift like these newer ones. 2” taller tires nets an inch, plus a body lift and it’s a big difference. No, it’s not fast, you can turn it up to about 35 and that’s plenty I the woods or the neighborhood. Sure I’d own a Polaris too, but these little guys are just too handy. if your not racing you really can’t beat it. But you CAN beat on it and it just goes.
Interesting... looks like a ride that I would enjoy. But the big surprise was how he said he does some tree stand hunting. Can you @ your size (I'm a big guy too) but is there really room for another passenger to ride with you?
I love the fact that it's carburated. I have a 2011 Ranger that has been nothing but problems for 3 years because of fuel injection...among other things. What a POS.

How tall is the guy doing the review? I'm the same build but I'm 6'4" and curious if I'd be able to sit comfortably.

I have the same machine as in the video. My valves start ticking after the engine is that normal operating temperature. Does yours do that?

I guess the XC just adds larger tires and a few inches in ground clearance as a result?
