At the transfiguration of Christ, Moses and Elijah made an appearance, and they were recognizable (Matthew 17:3-4). Though they had departed this world centuries prior, both Moses and Elijah remained distinct persons who had not lost their identity. In Luke 16:19-31, Abraham, Lazarus, and the rich man are all recognizable after death. King Saul recognized Samuel’s description given by the witch of Endor when she summoned Samuel from the realm of the dead (1 Samuel 28:8-17). Also in the book written by Maria Valthorha THE POEM OF THE MAN GOD Jesus tells the parents of the children killed by Herod that they will see their childres with their CURLY HAR in heaven after the resurruction. So, we can be sure that we all will see our beloved ones. But, one possibility of not seeing is of those condemned for HELL. This will be erased from the memory because, that will be a pain for all if not erased. Jesus mentions this in the book, when Jesus visits the mother of Judas Iscariot.

I honestly believe that, too my friend, but there are no Bible passages that tell us we will completely forget anything about our loved ones. Imagine being in Heaven, your memory wiped out, and you don't know anyone or remember your father, your mother except the Lord Jesus Christ? I don't think He will also allow that too? Heaven is a reunion of all faithful believers who lived past, present and future. You will see Moses, David, Abraham, John, James, etc. I know God in his infinite wisdom is Love and knows that we also long for to see our loved ones. Because if we forget everything, It won't be "ourselves" anymore, we won't even know why we existed or became saved in the first place if we will forget everything there. Just my biblical opinon. Every preacher, Catholic, Protestant, Evangelical .... all like to put their own spin on things. It's a human thing unfortunately. Some may mean well but everything they say doesn't necessarily make sense.
Its one thing to put their own spin on things but another to go against scriptures. In Luke 16:19 the dead rich man was able to recognize both Lazarus and Abraham in death and King David implies he will go to his dead son and know him according to book of Samuel.

Yes, this was like a Fool's mate blunder. "Same age and height.." (what verse even remotely supports this) "Soul is in the blood.." (then anyone can destroy the soul) "You will loose your memory, but Jesus keeps His scars to remind you.." (remind of WHAT?! Memory is lost, wiped, Jesus keeping scars is redundant.) This was just, bad. If I cant remember, then did I choose to be there, did I choose God? Why does that man have scars?

I agree with a lot of comments here about what we will remember, and what we will not remember, in Heaven. I believe we will remember our loved ones that are also in Heaven. If our memories are wiped clean does that mean we will forget Jesus too. That just doesn’t follow scripture. Please, Mar Mari Emmanuel, explain yourself regarding these statements.
I love this preacher, but I'm sure we will remember our loved ones again in heaven and will surely see them. You won't feel the fullness joy if you will forget them, what you will remember are only the good things. And you will NOT remember all the pain and sufferings, which the Bible clearly said:. "Rev 21:4 he will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." So take heart, you will still see your loved ones there.👍
From my understanding, we will recognize everyone in Heaven as family. Also there is a line about our gifts on earth not being wasted in Heaven so I am sure that we will still have our individuality as well.

I agree with you. It is unlike God's nature to make us empty headed forever . There is nothing beautiful about memory loss to have as our final rewards . In the transfiguration on mount Tabor , the opposite happened, Peter knew Moses had Elijah and distinguished them just when he got included in the cloud. It is full knowledge up there. As far as Lord's redeeming us from the pain of knowing that a loved one went to hell . There must be another way to comfort us . He told us there is so much we don't understand now but we will understand everything later; meaning, in the kingdom to come.

I thought that Jesus said we will know our loved ones. I haven't heard any of this that he's saying here. My husband died from covid and I know that I will see him and recognize him
Yeah this wasnt a perticular upbeat sermon. Our beloved ones was the only reason (expect Christ ofc) that kept us going and for this to be erased kind of contradicts the point of bringing beloved ones to Christ.
Remember that the rich man in death recognised both Abraham and Lazarus so there are no support for this.

@@sonjamoleski4865 I don't think you are quite understanding I think he is explaining that in heaven there is no sorrow or pain etc so if you had a loved one that didn't make it for what ever the reason then why would a loving god let you feel sorrow I think that until you make it to heaven you won't know but I myself know that we will be with love ones that are with Jesus Christ however I think maybe the ones that are lost we will have a peace instead of sorrow that God loves all it's up to us to spread the scriptures and follow the Lord Jesus Christ with faith and believe and following the narrow path turning away from the world he knows our hearts and we will all face judgment so letting those around us know of Jesus Christ and how he sacrificed himself and resurrected that he shows mercy and grace that we have a choice in our path I know whenever I coded during c-section I remember seeing my grandfather and he let me know I had a daughter waiting for me she only weighed one pound my body went totally Eclamptic and they were telling my family to say their goodbyes but God had different plans so don't judge or think he is misleading just take it that he is saying in his own version God wouldn't want us to hurt one day all our answers will be answered so continue on your walk with God and follow the truth which is the gospel the spoken word of the Lord Jesus Christ

The wages of sin was death, and Christ died that death for our sins, making the way clear for us to be saved. Now after believing that He died for our sins, was buried and has risen, Ephesians 1:13 assures us that we were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise. Meaning we never have to worry about our salvation again.
You have tried all the gimmicks. You've jumped through all the hoops. You've gotten fairly good at doing spiritual gymnastics, but have you ever just tried resting? Resting in Christ and His finished work?
Regardless of what the evangelicals and denominational churches tell us, the gospel is not repent and be baptized for the remission of sins. (Acts 2:38)
It is not keeping the commandments and selling all your possessions (Matthew 19:16-21.)
It is not he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved (Matthew 24:13.)
The gospel of your salvation is: "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel... By which also ye are saved,... how that Christ died for our sins... he was buried, and that he rose again the third day..."
The word "gospel" means GOOD NEWS. And the good news of how God was "in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them;" has been overshadowed by the "Gospel Buffet" for far too long!

I do not agree that we do not see our loved ones again. If we are saved or born again we shall see our loved ones. The older I get the more I want to see my loved ones that have passed many years ago. We must really be careful what we hear. Just because someone holds a cross in their hand and wears a robe does not mean that everything he says is the truth. Of course when we do get to heaven we will no longer remember the hate and awful things that happened on earth. Our heavenly father would not want us to go thru that again.

I would like to know where this 'we will come back at 33 years of age' comes from?. Especially considering there will be no age when we go to the Lord. Timeless. Puzzles and disappoints me that statement.
We need more clarity on why the Bishop believes our memories will be wiped...why we will be the same height and age as Jesus. I've never read that anywhere in scripture. We all have our sorrows; but we learn to carry the scars of all lives and still see the joy of the Lord in our everyday life if we are truly born again. I can see how scripture lets us know that no matter what we have endured, our resurrected bodies, minds will be of a new nature....we will be like Jesus - transfigured. Life with the Lord will bring such great joy and purpose that we will leave our earthly sorrows behind...but forget? No way.

If no memory of earth, that means no memory of why we are in Heaven, and if we even chose Heaven. If no memory, we will not recognize each other, and Bible says that we will recognize each other. Now, with memory, we can know that we did surrender to Christ Jesus, and that we chose to be in Heaven, and know each other.
I love listening to this Bishop preach but I don't agree with this one. I believe we will know our loved ones in Heaven. Why would God let us LOVE our family and children so much to just let us forget them. If we had NO memory at all then we would not even know who Jesus is or what we did to get here. We would not know anything at all about the bible nor even who we are looking at or why we know them. The bible speaks of perfect knowledge. Some parents who lose a child spend the rest of their lives waiting for the time when they will see their loved ones again and hold them. My God is ALL loving and would want that parent to see, hold and talk to their child again. Heaven is a place that is like NO other place. It is paradise. Paradise to me is a place where I am sitting with my dad, mom, and my children again and knowing that we will never be apart again.

You will understand what Bishop said is right.
28] Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
[29] Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
[30] For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Why would God put us on earth to love our children and our parents and then NEVER let us see them again and remember that we were family. Why would God wipe our memory of everything? I mean we would not know where we are or how we got there or anything. And people who go to hell would not understand why they are there are what they did to be there. And pets. God created animals and liked what he saw. He saved them in the flood. So I also believe we will have animals in Heaven. Just my believing. If we were not going to remember then God could just fill his house with new angels he creates and it would be the same.
