The entire five-day festival, observed as Shashthi, Maha Saptami, Maha Ashtami, Maha Navami and Vijayadashami, is known as Durgotsava. This huge and exuberant event is dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga, the celestial representation of feminine strength and power.
