    I will never understand why people won't just tip the hat and declare this man the GOAT. He was a dominant champion with an amazing story, always respectful, and a 100% class act. He checks all the boxes.

      He was and still is and always will be a cheater, there's that!
      He also faught nothing but smaller and aging fighters his entire career!
      His most notable win was dc and he also cheated in those fights.
      He is a repeat offender and most likely cheat again especially fighting monsters his own size!

    Brilliant reply for aspiring fighters by GSP at 28:34. In case you don't speak French:
    when asked about advice to help young fighters deal with psychological pressure and preparation.
    He basically explains that when he meets parents who say "my kid will be World Champ on day" he kneels to look at the kid and asks "how are you doing at school?"
    He goes on to explain that only a tiny percentage of fighters go on to become world champions, so it's vital to get an education and have something to fall back on in case things don't work out, or as he says, if you have an injury, or if you're hit by a car. He advises against putting all your eggs in one basket.
    He later on says he loves training in his Montreal gym as it's one of the places that makes him happiest but also that makes him the saddest.
    Because some fighters ask for advice, and it's tough to see when he's faced with a 33 year-old who's on a 4-defeat streak and it's too late to find another path and another career.
    He says this applies to all sports, like football, basketball.
    He says we only hear of people who succeed but it's a small minority. And he adds it's like a horror movie when you meet someone who ends their career broken, financially and physically.
    He ends by saying it's very important to keep all this in mind.

    GSP...always styling, always respectful. As he entered, he responded "Ca va bien, et vous?" The "vous" at the end, is a subtle tip of the hat to additional respect. It is typically reserved for addressing grand parents, parents, bosses, etc. People who are above you. GSP always classy.

      GSP has always and will always be a class act but it's just common sense in FR if you have any manners to begin with. Any job interview or any formal settings (like a TV Camera pointed at you) will require you to > ..

    • @AntoinEzio
      @AntoinEzio 2 роки тому +1

      Not necessarily for people at a higher hierarchical level. But it used to show respect to someone else, in a more formal manner. So yes, it’s very respectful to use it in this context, especially when the presenter didn’t used it (but it wasn’t disrespectful at all)

    • @Renaissance464

      I'm french canadian like GSP and you're half right. "Vous" is mainly used for anyone you don't know.
      You can't use "tu" with strangers. It's considered to be impolite. (You could but not everyone's gonna appreciate it. Some will specifically ask you to use "tu" instead of "vous" because it's more personal.)
      It's common courtesy just like "Please/S'il VOUS plait" or "Thank you/Merci".
      If George said "Et toi?" Instead of "Et vous?" It would indicate that it's not the first time they talked. OR that they're just really comfortable with eachother. You would never hear a french person use "vous" to people they know like friends and family members.
      Also if you're talking to random grand-parents or old people, you're gonna want to use "vous" or it's really impolite. But if it's YOUR grand-parents, using "vous" would be cold af...
      ALWAYS use "tu" for you friends and familly. But with strangers, you're gonna want to use "vous". Unless they tell you they're more comfortable with you using "tu".
      "Vous" is very formal. "Tu" is more personal.
      ALSO, if you speak to more than one person, you MUST use "vous" as it mainly functions as the plural of "tu".
      *BUT* like I said, "vous" can be singular if you speak to a stranger.

      As well as sharing a language (with small variations) there are cultural similarities and most French fans will feel a stronger affinity with GSP due to his being a proud Québécois, who can be considered as cousins of the French in a sense.

    At 15:07 he's been asked if he considers the sport cleaner now (less doping) versus when he left in 2013. He said there will always be people who cheats and find a way but that it's properly better now. He also pointed out that in 2013 he was stepping away to deal with personal issues. He mentioned he had a depression but felt he would be judged if he mentioned it because he was viewed as a world champion, popular, rich ...someone who shouldn't be complaining. He followed up by mentioning the UFC did an amazing job towards doping with USADA.

      Im gonna trying to traduce this, he say :
      "it's a really hard fight to pronosticate, the fight can come in one sense or another, but if i have to pronosticate the fight, if the fight takes place in the center of the octogon i think it's gonna favorised Oliveira, but if Islam can take the fight close to cage in clinch he's gonna be favorised. I think both fighters have the tools to win this fight, it's not gonna be the physical aspect that will decided this fight because both are really athletic, they have exceptionnal physical quality, I don't believe the technical aspect gonna decided this fight because they are also very technical, both have an incredible knowlegde they are at the top of her art, I think the tactical aspect gonna the things, the first who gonna arrive to impose his gameplan gonna win this fight"
      Sorry for the fault ^^

    Can someone translate what he said about the Islam & Charles fight

    • @Chrisanith
      @Chrisanith 2 роки тому +7

      If the fight takes part in the middle of the octogon it will favor Charles but if Islam takes it close the the cage body to body it will favor him. They both have the tools to win the fight, the're both in great shape and athletic but one thing that will favor the winner it's their tactic. The fighter that will win the fight is the one who will fight his fight. Something in those lines 🤷‍♂️
