I'm having chills hearing you say that. We as African came a long way. To listen to African music on Western radio stations is more than a big deal; I'm happy to hear that Fally's music is being played in the Uk, we need it to be played here in the states as well. The whole Africa knows that Congolese music is African music and vice versa. Aaaannnnd yes, fashion as well. It's in our blood. Been about it wayyy before IG and YT.
We have literally come a long way as Africans, it’s amazing to see our music take president. Yes I’m sure very soon he will come to the US and definitely his music will be played there.
Am from Zimbabwe,but honestly congolese music is something else .and mind you 😂😂😂my playlist is full of fally ipupa and l dont even understand lingala or french .Fally ipupa is a legend .

Never heard Congolese music, it’s a bit slow, and I don’t really get the beat👀💁🏽♀️🧐it has some East and North African influences a slight Senegalese, even Mali sounding 🥴🥴👀Congo is central Afrique , so has certainly absorbed from other African countries 💁🏽♀️
No doubt everything has an influence from around the world. Congolese music isn’t slow unless you’re talking about rumba. Definitely salsa influence in rumba
Congo has different genres of music. The slow genre you’re talking about is Congolese rumba- it’s a mix of Cuban rhythms and indigenous Congolese tribal beats. Doesn’t sound like any of those countries mentioned, respectfully. The guitar, drums, arrangements is just completely different.
