- Here's my story. Beginning to present. This is how I fell in love with the outdoors, and all the other stuff that went along with it- the adventures, the challenges, the hard work.

I am a woman who suffers from major depression. I used to spend so much time in the woods but not anymore….😩. You have inspired me to get back out and heal. I’m on my way!! Thanks for being you!!
I'm in the same boat. I just took a gigantic walk in the local hills and picked up various medicinal plants. I am still sore two days later, but it was nice and it's worth doing.
I find nature to be extremely cathartic. Every time I have hit a low spot in my life I turn to nature for relief. It recharges my batteries. We live on remote forested farmland. I will even go out and cook over an open fire just so I can enjoy nature and our pets and animals at the same time. It takes you away from phones, iPads and the news. It’s ok to distance yourself from humanity when you need to, even temporarily. I was not born to be a city dweller. I tend to be a lone wolf by nature. I love my serenity. It’s my lifeline...

This lady has got to be the most coolest lady I have ever seen. She's got that vibe about her, that everything is as it's supposed to be. That's the feeling I get when I watch her videos.
I know her and I can tell you this is no act, she is one of the greatest people I have ever met . She is super creative and a really talented musician I cannot gloat enough about her. So proud to see everything she has done in life.

I stayed outside in the woods as a child. We were very poor, but I thought I was the fairy princess when I was in those woods roaming around. I need to get back to my roots. Thank you for the inspiration. ♥️
Exactly what i was thinking
I was the same way , as a child I stayed in the woods make believing, picking berries, climbing trees and exploring. As an adult you don’t get to do things like that as much. Too much other stuff you are responsible for. I really miss being a child. I know it sounds crazy but I do.

I grew up like you....very poor by most standards. I spent hours exploring the woods .It was a great life. We were isolated from the real world...it was great !

Excellent! I lived, secretly, in a national park in Australia for a year when I was younger. I loved every minute of every day, hunting, gathering, repairing, cooking, living! Thankfully, no health issues arose and the rangers never caught me. I would do it again tomorrow! I enjoyed watching this. Thanks.

You are not, you are where you are supposed to be, the future is wide open....💜💙💛🧡🙏🤟i am inspired to buy a piece of land near water...yes its is a creek but it is where we will build a weekend retreat...🙏🤟
Only in our mind, that can be so easily changed. Property with a modest RV Trailer can get you there.
Even renting/leasing the land for camping throughout the year, is an idea.
Pay for electric utilities Northern Mich ‘bout $300 yr. and cover Property Taxes.

That is a life I wish I had lived! Wow. This winter in southeastern Pennsylvania we had a good snow storm. Inspired by watching backpackers like Shrug emery, I built a snow fort in my backyard and went out and slept it in it that night. It was beautiful and peaceful sleep. I never did that before, but thought it’s something in would like to do before my life is over. I’m learning to get outside and fulfill the child within me. As a child I lived the outdoors. Your life looks amazing! Thanks for bringing it to us.

At 75, I was recuperating from repacking my pack, which must weigh 55 lbs, when I caught your fantastic video. The Best. It answered many questions i had about your background. This has to be the most beautiful and the most meaningful video that i have seen about wilderness living. I admire....no, I love you and what you have done. I have always wild camped. I own a cabin with three friends in the Manistee National Forest. Yes, I'm from West Michigan. I like carpentry and building. Not to mention fishing and hunting. Keep filming and inspiring us.
I can't stop watching...you are amazing and living the life I have always dreamed of. My husband says we are too old now but it doesn't keep me from dreaming. I literally feel my blood pressure drop when I'm in the outdoors, sitting around a campfire and listening to the sounds of the night. Please keep the videos coming.
Thanks for sharing that much of your life, it brought back lots of memories growing up in Alaska 72 years ago. I get thinking about those days and sometimes, I get tears. Yes, a grown old man can shed them now and then. That place you guys were caretakers, has seen a lot of them, I was going to work there but, I got a Winter caretaker job at a really nice lodge, very remote. You are still young and have many good years left as I did. The music was great and you do have a really nice voice when you're not spazing out, LOL. Waiting for the next video. Great job.

When I was a kid I went to Girl Scout Camp every summer for 2 weeks - so exciting. My family had a place on Lake Table Rock in Missouri where we would go. I would sit on the porch and just SMELL the trees and the other out door scents. I always wanted a place in the woods, and now, when I am really OLD (73 this month) I live on 16.9 acres in the middle of the woods. Love it!!!. Thanks for being you. Love your channel. Everything that has been created has its own serene beauty ... from the stars to the mountains ... to the forest and meadows ..to the gardens of plants and all living animals and people that take part to enjoy and absorb nature as it’s meant to be living free as the wind on a awesome Spring day
Some of the best years of my life were spent living off grid in northern California mountains in a yurt with a wood burning stove. Fresh air, madrones, chopping wood, tending to the garden, caring for chickens, baths under starry skies: heaven. Working toward buying land and building my own tiny. There's nothing better, in my book, than being in nature. You're a woman after my heart and I freaking love your sense of adventure.
Brooke is such a amazing person, she is so sweet,caring and has such a close connection with the earth around her. Just watching her go on so many adventures makes my heart sing. 🥰 Brooke, that flame of wonder in you is a true gift. Thank you so much for sharing it with the world❤️

I love your videos .. today is a Sunday my husband and I are older .. Im 66 and my husband is 74 , we use binged your videos and I felt like I was with you and that is good enough for me... it was lovely watching Im so happy you have children.. oh to teach them the things you know!! And when we were done watching I went to the bathroom and praised The Lord Jesus for running water indoor plumbing .. air-conditioning today and heat when the winter comes ... The Lord Jesus bless you and your family!
I made myself a promise to go 'forest bathing' this year as many hours as possible in the woods. I have 50 acres, much of it wilderness, 500' of riverfront, 5 acre island, swamp, beaver pond....But now I am 76, have had congestive heart failure {5 heart attacks!} & two legs that hurt when I walk. And so I did not even go into the woods last year but stayed on the creek within my 3 acre yard. But if I have to crawl part way back & forth, this year I will go into my woods, enjoy nature for several hours before I crawl back, probably to the beaver pond {I will bring apples for them} - So thanks for the inspiration. Wow that look on your face after Mongolia was priceless. Having gone the distance, can't take one more day.

Just now watching this video. It brings back memories. I grew up in central Michigan and I also learned to ski when I joined my high school ski club. We went to Cannonsburg every week. It was a tiny ski area. I wish I had gone to Isle Royale. Instead I went on to MSU and joined the military to see the world. Now, I'm retired in Colorado in the mountains to wake up every morning and see brilliance all around me and to listen to the wind humming through the pines. Thanks for making such high quality videos and brightening our day with your personality. Nothing like being outside to make us happy!

Both you and Dave put out such great videos and I’m so glad I found your channels. I’m a retired US Navy Seabee and was lucky enough to spend three years in Adak, Alaska and it was such a beautiful place to live. I used to hike, camp, and fish all around the island and some of my fondest memories from my career are in Alaska. Now I spend my time teaching my kids about the outdoors and will be buying my 10 year old daughter a 10x12 canvas tent and wood stove this thanksgiving so she and I can do some hot tent camping this winter. Thank you and your husband for sharing your stories. Looking forward to watching more.

Found this after watching some wonderful videos of her and her husband building their own cabin. This fills my heart. Tears on my cheeks. Not totally where to start with this sorta very nature-based and diy lifestyle but so far have worked at some farms and gardens and farmers markets and done some building projects, a lot of travel and trying out huge variety of experiences, etc. Anyway, thanks so much for celebrating and sharing so much of your life story to inspire others and for your deep relationship with nature. My beloved dog is an amazing adventure companion too!

You are so amazing! I wish I had been as independent minded when I was a teen & young adult like you. You have done & are still doing all the things I would love to do. About 10 years ago I finally talked my husband into us buying a tent & going camping. He almost froze his toes off. I made it just fine, because I wore 3 pairs of socks to bed. I told him to do the same, but of course, as always, he didn't listen to me. We don't go camping much anymore & i miss it.

Omgosh! I came upon your videos by accident but you can bet I won’t forget them from now on! I remember watching you and your husband on Alone!!! You guys were awesome and I was pulling for you although my recollection is pretty sketchy but I loved that show. Love your cabin in the woods and you inspire me. I love the outdoors but at 61 and being a widow raising a 12 year old grand daughter, I’d say my days for longing for adventure are pretty slim. I’ll live vicariously through your videos. Awesome! I love seeing other strong, adventurous grrrrlz, like myself getting out there and doing what you love and makes you happy! Happy is a choice! I'm 65 and still looking for the next adventure! Right now I'm building my tiny cabin as I live in it with my 4 dogs in the rolling, piney, woods of SW AR. I also bought a short bus I'm going to convert into a cushy vardo my dogs and I can travel in. Denali....here we come....hopefully in the next year or two. Gotta finish home base first.

Just awesome Brooke! I love watching your channel. As for the competition's you entered, sure, it would have been a bonus to win, but you have a rare skillset that very few people on this planet have. The rest of us lead sedentary, unhealthy lives in offices, counting down the days/years till we can retire (and hope we will still have our health). You are LIVING, and I mean REALLY living. I have huge admiration for outdoorsmen and women.
