I like this host, but I was so looking forward to hearing John talk about this. It's been so cool seeing such an icon remain the same, as the world he hosts changes so much.
I mean foreign countries have other peoples data at this point too most social media platforms are based out of the USA so if someone from another country uses Facebook or instagram who's to say Mark Zuckerberg doesn't have their data. Elon Musk has all of China's mapping data in order for Tesla's FSD to work in China
Smartphones are at least a known privacy thing. Depending on what apps are installed and which settings are configured, a user can attempt to mitigate privacy concerns. With a modern vehicle it's not always as clear when & how your privacy or data is being used. Cars are some of the worst things in terms of managing user privacy
Having your vehicles onboard data (GPS, throttle / braking application, speed etc.) leaked to your insurance company is a bit different than Google knowing what TikTok videos you watched. Nothing like getting your insurance cancelled due to taking your car to a track day or autox event and your own car snitched on you unknowingly. Or God forbid you go above the posted speed limit.
appreciate the 90s vibes of motor week in 2025. It's great.
I love Motor Week. Still the leader.

(IF) I was a criminal, stalker or worse, these current technologies would be my best friend!! 😡
Stephanie: still gorgeous
Another reason not to buy a car new 👎
Everyone has a computer with gps in their pocket that does this x10. What privacy do we have anymore?

Hopefully now we have a new President & administration something can be done for this issue on a federal level.
Lol
Yeah right lol 😂
If it doesn't benefit him or his money, he could care less.
