Thanks for all your videos, Melissa, they are helping me alot with changing up my style now. I'm 57yrs old, and menopause has changed my body so much, so I barely recognize myself these days. I've put on weight literally out of nowhere, and have the dreaded, apron stomach! I get so downhearted some days because I am in this in between age, that I can't wear clothes that are meant for 20 somethings, nor, do I want to go down the road of the 'granny' look either. I am 57....but don't want to look 87..!! So...wanting to hide the stomach poses a challenge always when looking at clothes. But, I've learnt from watching your videos, how to style clothes to give me back a flattering shape, and steer away from hiding it all under a shapeless, baggy style of dressing. (which just makes you feel even depressed, because you literally look like a potato sack!!). I also feel like I want to pear down my style, and go more classic and casual. Comfort is my priority, and need fabrics that breathe, (dreaded hot flushes!). I like alot of the outfits that you show that are casual, yet classy, and also feminine. I am also learning to strip down what I don't wear anymore, or doesn't fit anymore, or..simply isn't the style I am feeling at this stage of my life. I am trying to minimize my wardrobe, as I know I do not need half of it, and I want to feel emotionally lighter without all the 'baggage' of unwanted, illfitting clothes, that I am hanging onto for sentimental reasons or....that make believe 'one day' when it will maybe fit me again!! My goal is to create the wardrobe that is made up of essentials that can mix & match to sustain having lots of different outfits for various occasions, and just add or or two for the different seasons. I've always been fully into lots of colours, but I am now also feeling good embracing creams and whites. I am also in the process of purging alot of my crazy patterned tops. (Ive always loved the Boho/Hippy look, but I just am not feeling it anymore....Mutton dressed up as lamb, comes to mind!!). Anyway....I am a very new subscriber to your channel, and am binge watching the videos! So...thankyou for helping me have some direction in where I want my wardrobe to go. Minimizing our wardrobes is the BEST decision ever. After three pregnacies, had lot of clothes that didn't fit neither my body or lifestyle. Getting rid of them have allowed me to buy new clothes and to have a less cluttered, easier to go through closet!
Karlene, you sound like me. Except I’m 65 and in Florida. You can do it!! Have fun discovering the revised you. Go shopping and don’t buy anything. Use what you’ve learned and play with the clothes. And shoes! I cannot believe I forgot what a difference shoes and purses make.

Its Springtime now in Melbourne and soon to go into Summer, so I have purchased a couple of Summer sandals that are both casual and dress, because I really only have one pair of Birkenstocks that are my standard Summer sandal, but they aren't dressy at all, purely practical and casual. And, I've gotten a classic beige/light Brown faux leather bag that will go with anything. My style is changing, more classic, yet still Feminine and casual, but I haven't gotten so far as getting any blazers yet.(they aren't really me). I like breathable, floaty materials, especially bamboo, which is drapes beautifully on the body without clinging to all the lumps and bumps! Its still a process, and I am feeling very relieved and uplifted to not focus so much on my 'fat' & 'lumpy' bits, but more on the style I want to achieve.

Hi Melissa! Hope you're keeping that red evening dress because you look stunning in it! I am supposed to be on a no-buy now but I have bought the black (and the tan 😱) Boden pointed flats ...and I adore them! I should probably stop watching your channel!!😂 But I love it, and you, so much - you bring me great joy...and, actually, I find watching you generally provides excellent retail therapy! I simply had no will power when it came to those flats! - so much more elegant (I'm rapidly approaching my 60th (how and when did this happen!! 🤣) and my lifestyle no longer really suits heels and I find these are more versatile than traditional ballet flats; and loafers I love but at my age they can look frumpy with a skirt. AND I found those Boden flats are both comfortable and stay on!! They are also great for taking with me to change into when I arrive anywhere in wet or muddy trainers or boots! So, thank you! 🥰😘

I’m with you all the way with the tan ! It just gives you a better look if exposing a bit more skin than usual 👍. Thought the black and red dress looked great on you especially, we can all see how much time you guys put in for us even having to stop / move /adjust the camera for monte adds to the overall time these videos take to make , the thought behind it is obviously also time consuming but as your so talented and clearly love what you do for a job I’m sure it’s a joy to create

And I always find that a good fake tan can hide quite a bit of the lumpy, bumpy cellulite too, makes it less obvious, which is always a win....

I’m very pale all winter until garden season rolls round, and my student recently commented that I “look like a ghost.” Children can be brutally honest, can’t they? Yet far from being offended, I take their teen honesty as constructive criticism; thus, I am very interested in hearing more about Melissa’s fake tan. I tried it when they for came out, but it turned out very orangey. Yours is looking lovely! I’m sorry that some people are rude to you, but as someone whose skin tone needs extra help, I am glad you’re sharing with us. Perhaps you could share application tips as well: a good pre-application moisturizer for dry skin, areas you avoid getting the fake tan on, how to apply it without turning your palms an awkward shade. I’m here to improve my presentation and have been feeling rather frustrated until finding you here on UA-cam. Thank you!
What a lovely positive attitude you have to everything! I use a very inexpensive produce called ‘bare by vogue’. You can get it from Amazon. I use the face mist in the blue bottle and the foam fake tan in the medium in the winter and the dark in the summer. I do that in most of my videos but slimmer people complained that I wasn’t representing them so I’m trying to do more of a mix. There’s 23 body shape masterclasses on here, most of whom have larger stomachs. Hope that helps.
My neighbours always peek out wherever my door bell rings so i feel the need to wear decent loungewear! 😂 Kidding but work from home and me pottering around my house gardening or just chilling means i need proper loungewear thats not nt my hushands old tees and boxers( thou nothing more comfy!). Been taking cues from ur vids and got my self a pair of brown boots and thinking of getting a few quality co-ord sets in neutral colours.. thankyou so much ur tips are amazing! Me too!! In fact, we've asked them to go up to a UK 20 and they don't have the fit models or the grading for it which is ridiculous in todays world but we are working on them....a UK 18 is possibly coming...
You and me both. Would be nice if these companies would expand their sizes.🙂 I see MM says a UK 20. A size US 16 still isn't going to make a difference though.

I just love your videos and your approach to simple, classy yet not too expensive clothes. I make most of my clothes so get lots of ideas on what to make and what fabrics to use from you. I also like to spend a little more on a few quality items than have a cupboard full of cheap clothes. I did a colour evaluation years ago so know which colours suit me as well and that mushroomy colours you are wearing are perfect neutrals for me. I absolutely CANNOT wear anything yellow/orangey/tomato red. SO I am in the cooler colour range. I think it is very important one finds out what colours suits you especially which neutrals but with a good neutral top one can actually get away with a not so suitable colour on the bottom, sneaky little trick

Until watching your videos, I would never ever buy a blouse with a ribbed band at the bottom! But I see the value now, in your first outfit here and in the striped ribbed band on the lady who wanted to camouflage her lower tummy.

MM, Love your channel. What brand can you recommend for quality lounge wear in US sizes 16 to 22 (plus size). Even shopping at Nordstrom they have nothing like Varley nor the Lily silk items you highlighted.

I very much like the whites, creams, and light, soft colors you show, but I am a mother os 3 children under 5 so I find they may be unpractical. I would be grateful if you could occasionally provide your insights on how the fabrics and colors hold up after washing.
At the point at which i'm showing these new pieces then I haven't washed them i'm afraid but over on instagram I show lots of my daily outfits that I am washing on a regular basis so I will try and remember to mention this. x

I don’t style men I’m afraid (apart from my own husband) but my suggestion is to buy the clothes for him, that’s what I do!!! Then you can influence what he’s wearing!
These elevated trainer outfits are just what I’m looking for, however, I’m a blue eyed gray haired 69 year old and whites and blacks drain the color from me😢. Would it be possible to show some elevated casual outfits in cool colors? Thank you so much for your videos! I really enjoy them!

Bummer- was going to try the ivory Varley sweatpants but XL is UK16/US12😢. Love the ivory monochromatic look but need a fabric that is not see through and structured enough to hide cellulite. Suggestions?

Some day I hope you will have a master class on dressing fat legs (large thighs, large calves, normal ankles). I am 5’10”, not carrying much extra weight around my tummy and hips. The look on others is so cute but with my wide legs, shorter length pants to expose my ankles make my legs look stumpy and short.

Fab video as always 😀 could you advise on any brands that sell jeans that are not high waisted mom jeans? At 5 foot 3 these style of jeans sit literally under my boobs, can’t seem to find non high waisted styles. Thanks you!
All of the high street stores do different waisted jeans. Type in things like Mid Rise, low Rise etc. Mid rise straight leg cropped would work well. Rises are reducing all of the time. Next do a very comprehensive range too.

Oh Melissa you look so stunning in that red dress. You are so right about the elevated leisure wear. I'm sat in a pair of grey New Look joggers and a grey Weekday hoodie, they don't match but it's so hard for me to get a co-ord that has long enough sleeves and long enough in the leg. Finding one half of it is tough enough! You make so much sense when you explain things. Thank you so much x

I prefer the pants from this year as they have the crease down the front which stops the knees from bagging but I prefer the hoodie from last years! x
