I have a suggestion 🙋🏽♀️ my guest tend to bring their own drinks or dips and I never have space in my fridge so I suggest you also do a quick clean up of your fridge because you never know
This is a tip from when I was a dishwasher at a restaurant as a teen, and I still use. Put a dish with just plain water or added soap near your kitchen sink and place your silverware in it after using. This will soften the food prior to washing it.

Love your videos, Melissa! One thing I do is use pretty paper hand towels in the guest bathroom - I can put them on a little tray next to the sink and it gives the bathroom a more "high end" look. They're also good for preventing the spread of germs & bacteria. They can be pricey, but I only put them out when guests are here.

When I'm having people over, I put a pretty roll of paper towels in one of those standing paper towel holders on my bathroom counter. That way I don't have to worry that all my hand towels are in the laundry and no one has to touch that big bath towel.

My parents actually came by to visit us and before they arrived my husband and I did almost everything you talked about. We even purchased a small set of cheap white towels and washcloths to put in the guest bathroom for a more hotel/spa vibe and they loved it! My mom wanted some of her own white towels after too. 😁

We always leave a roll of paper towels in the bathroom it's more sanitary than a towel ... and ppl always wipe funky stuff and it messes up your decor towels
Some air freshener in the bathroom is also a good thing to have

Loved everything except putting toilet paper on floor next to toilet. Men splatter urine on floor at times 😬
It's not only men who splatter urine but women as well especially if they don't want to sit on the toilet seat. They easily splatter urine. So the idea of putting them there is not good.

I absolutely love "everything Melissa - and Chad, of course". I laughed out loud re: your comment about the contents of your medicine cabinet and the people who snoop. I prefer to remove all contents and replace them with marbles. Quick and easy, and it usually gets the message across.

My husband recently made a pasta salad with feta, red onion, roasted red peppers, and zucchini. It was really great, he is a chef/kitchen manager and always puts together the best dishes!!

I ALWAYS bring lots of deviled eggs w/real bacon bits. They are always the first thing gone.... people grab 2 or 3 at a time.

There are two things I love taking to barbecues. First one is Pasta salad made with Italian dressing and vegetables so delicious! My other favorite is garlic French bread tastes delicious thrown on the grill!

i took teriyaki Spam strips (appetizer) to a Luau/bbq once: i've eaten it in Maui many times and my Spam was consumed quickly. definitely a guilty secret in SoCal.

I usually love bringing baked veggies.
I just cut them up into little circles and vertically line the pan with rows of veggies and then throw on some olive oil, garlic, rosemary, salt, pepper, and anything else that would taste good. bake it and boom!

hi.. i just recently posted a comment on one of your videos about how to organize a very tiny kitchen.. as i was making my coffee, an idea (ting!! with bulb!) came into my mind. since you have a big kitchen, and most of the videos on kitchen or house organization topics, do have huge huge houses and kitchen, hmmm.. maybe you could have an ambush makeover to an owner of a small apartment who has tiny kitchen ( ours is only 2mx 3m). friends? random strangers? hihi.. sorry for this crazy idea. . and i would like to thank you and your husband for this wonderful channel :)

I make potato salad but I try it different each time. I'll use pickles or sometimes green apples. I'll use red potatoes instead of white. It always goes.

I like the Vanity fair napkins added to your bath. It really gives an elegant clean look. Your nice towels stay beautiful! 💕 Deviled Eggs are my BBQ food. Farm Fresh (not grocery store) 24 eggs with your choice mayo/mustard/celery seed/ relish/sea salt and paprika on top. I use miracle whip and the people that hate it love my deviled eggs.. the plate is always empty....48 pieces.....Enjoy summer ya all...

My goto dish is leche flan, a filipino dessert. It is outrageously silky with the way i prepare it.

I only make stuff no-one else likes but me. That way I look good bringing something but I still get to stuff my face and bring home all the leftovers X-D

I recently tossed a whole bag of candles after finding out how harmful they are for your health. You get guests that have a sensitive nose, some that are pregnant, others that get headaches/migraines from different smells. So all of the candles, sprays, oils and such had to go. Better safe than sorry. :)

I am one of those people who get migraines from scents. My math teacher loved candles and lit one during math. Me having a blocked nose couldn't smell it and I passed out after 10 mins not realizing it was lavender. Thankfully I am still safe with citrus and vanilla but all other scents make me sick to some degree

My primary care doctor would forbid any patient to enter her exam room if they were wearing a perfume. Candles are just wax with artificial fragrances in them. They are truly unhealthy.

Jalapeno Potato Salad. 5# cubed, cooked and cooled Red potatoes (leave skins on where you can), 1 medium diced red onion, 2 Cups Mayo, 1/2 Cup Sour Cream, 1-2 Tablespoons finely diced Jalapeno from jar with some of the juice (instead of relish), handful of finely diced Cilantro (instead of parsley), Salt and Pepper.
I have a couple of dishes that are typically a hit at dinner parties. One is my pumpkin crescent rolls (a great addition to any fall dinner), but the most reliable is the easy apple dumplings made with mountain dew. Google the recipe. These things are so easy and so delicious. My brother-in-law is not a desert fan, but he raves about these and requests them for even his birthday. ^_^

Melissa, cross-contamination question: do you wash designated bathroom microfiber cloths on their own, or with all other household micro fibers? I'm leaning towards yes, bathroom cloths need their own washing cycle, but I defer to your expertise.

A salad with English cucumber, tomatoes, red onion, fresh garlic (smashed and whole cloves just for the aroma); fresh dill is a must; for the dressing a good quality olive oil and lime juice
