Thank you, you’re probably more tropics than me but you should get a good season from April-September. Tropical varieties will definitely help you succeed.
Another awesome video with heaps of tips for our tricky climate. Lots of reassurances too which made me feel like I’m on the right track. Thanks so much for taking the time to put this video together for us. I will definitely try the sweet potato growing over the summer and also get some Brazilian spinach 🐝
Thanks Nickie, I live in SE Qld and love love love your channel, I have been. Gardening for many years but have learn't so much from your channel...thankyou
I love your channel, thank you. My Filipino friend taught me that you can eat chilli leaves and they're great in soups. Also your kids might hate me for this but where's your choko vine hehe
I always assumed chilli leaves were poisonous, that's good to know. And I've not had luck with Choko vine. Kids surprisingly like them (probably because we don't get many!)
@@loveofdirt No they're safe to eat. I haven't had any success growing chokos either but am fortunate to have a friend who does and he always has plenty to share thankfully.
I love watching your channel i live in the same area and struggle to grow tomatoes and capsicums during summer lol. When do you sow yours?? Was it in feb??
Jan-early Feb for seeds. Plant out around late feb - March. Harvest May-June. We do cherry tomatoes over summer but I don’t ever hold out hope for them.
@@loveofdirt thanks so much! You have no idea! I literally planted out so many capsicum and big tomato seedlings and most are struggling but the ones under shade cloth are doing okay... But it makes me feel much better that I have a chance to try again! Thank you so much 😊 💓
Capsicums should do fine now but yeah full sun is a little bit less than southerners. We do get mites here early spring when it’s drier - they tend clear outside once the rains come though.
Umm yeah sorry these videos are umm err really really old and I was just err starting out and umm didn’t realise I was doing it at the time. I try to edit all the ums out now but unfortunately UA-cam doesn’t let me go back and edit the old videos. I am human, I am still learning and I might miss a few but hopefully I’ve gotten better. Thanks for your oh so helpful comment though👌
Thanks Nicki. Very happy to have found your channel. I’m in cairns and just starting out. Thanks for your efforts 🙏🙂

Always something to learn! Thanks for watching :)
Great video, very helpful tips as we move into summer here in the subtropics! I've got a lot of these plants happening already, thankfully 😅
That’s great!
You should grow some cranberry hibiscus. The leaves are burgundy, and have a hint of lemon. They are great in salads.
We call them rosellas and yes I always grow them, have a video on it.
Very informative, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching
