Great printer, team & results from twotrees! I look forward to more projects in the future!!
Pretty neat, never heard of this one before. Also, nice merch you have now
It’s a nice printer! Appreciate the watch & merch shout out!
FLAWS
Is this Marlin or Klipler?
One issue I see with this is it's only supporting the bed on the center sides: what's to prevent it from rocking front to back? Not even mentioning possible wobble from the rods.
Speaking of Rods, are they Indipendently controlled to help with leveling?
Other is bowden: it may have more play at higher speeds without direct drive.
@@TheAtomicSoul the sp5 comes preloaded with marlin but there are several configurations for there sapphire series to support klipper.
The printer is supported with linear rails and yes it is supported in the center both the rails & rods provide additional support & there is no wobble as long as you install it properly. The rods are synced so there are minimal issues with leveling & build plate install
The printer is already equipped with Bowden & dual gear extruder.
Thank you. Very interessting. Will you upgrade with the High Speed printing kit for SP-5?
What do you think about replace the T8 Lead screw with the ball screw? Whould be the Z surface be better?
I have ordered the direct drive/board & kit. I haven’t looked into the lead screws yet though.
Nice review. Looks like it got some good clean prints.
I've had this printer for a year now and it's been my workhorse since I upgraded the hotend to a Direct Drive Volcano (many have said that the stock hotend sucks because they get a lot of clogs; and it's ptfe lined, upgraded to bimetallic heatbreak) with a .6 nozzle and installed Klipper on it
Other than that I haven't made other modificatios (ok, maybe a bltouch... and oh yeah I made the z rods independent) and I want to believe it runs almost like a Voron
Great to hear others have had success with this. I was curious about upgrading the hotend too
I'd say go for it, and if you throw in a .6 nozzle (haven't tried .8, but I'm tempted to after I install the Rapido uhf I just got) you can shave half or more time than printing with a .4 @ 60mm/s (I printed a huge sword as a commission in 6-7 hours)
Great video and excellent tutorial. Very descriptive on bolt placement and assembly. I haven't bought another printer yet. I still only have my CR-10 mini. Last time I asked you what printer I should upgrade to for printing helmets in one piece, you said and Ender 5 plus. Do you still feel that way, or should I consider this one instead? Faster print speeds seem very appealing. As always, thanks for sharing.
5 plus is great but to get it modded similar to this is over $700. Only perk is the plus does have a bigger build volume
Hi again!! lol halfway through I realized I watched this already. Well I came up with one thing I don't care for. The runout sensor just hanging lol. Yea it don't have the auto bed but, that's 20 bucks. Have you done a review on the Ender 5 Plus 3D printer by chance? I'm really leaning towards it and I like your content and things you have to say. I have a friend that has a Bambu x1carbon and it's all about how fast and look what I printed...I don't care if it takes a day to print out a helmet as long as it is in one piece and needs little body work done to it. Well thanks for your time again.
$400 not a bad price for the size.. Only thing not liking is putting it all together. I mean dont look to detailed, but most other printers I have came pretty much put together..
Assembly is a bit much, but hey it gives you practice when things break lol
That's why it's cheaper, it's a kit. Now if it was 90% put together it would be more.
@@arowe231 but when you consider the upgrades you get vs say an ender 5 plus which isn’t 90% assembled & you have to go through installing a silent board, flashing it, pid tuning & still have to upgrade the extruder & add fans your over $750
@@Darkwingdad True...didn't think that far ahead lol.
@@arowe231 it was a lot to assemble though… lol
Merci
Can only advise people not to buy tow tree products
They don't live up to the warranty they give and don't care about shipping
Bring crooked machines onto the market so customers can just pay for crooks they can't use.
Have a brand new sp5 which has never made a print yet because it is very crooked and for that reason burnt motherboard and motor etc. of, have even had to pay for new parts and even if they use marlin packaged in their code, they can't and won't help and the mechanical parts that have to be changed for the machine to run yes you can't buy them without almost having to buy them a new machine and now it must be said that I am a trained precision mechanic, electronics technician and programmer and have developed printer plotters etc. for many years, that company is a scam and scam stay away from them and buy something else
There’s alot of people who have bashed creality over the years. Even more so now with the k1 blunders. Every company has drawbacks or production issues these day it seems. I apologize you had a bad experience, mine so far has been solid.
