Strengthen the neural connections in your brain so that the learned idioms never leave it!
The more often you encounter these idioms and expressions, the more likely you will not forget them. The stronger the neural connections become. This is how our brain works. Immerse yourself in the world of the English language. Watch TV series, films, bloggers who make videos on topics that interest you.
This is the only but effective way.
Tuch and go. "Very uncertain or critical situation"?
In the first example, a person has undergone surgery and his condition is assessed as "tuch and go" = unstable = uncertain = not known = critical = questionable = problematic.
