      Mentski So you diluted water in water to give the water the memory of water?

    • @OldBaldDad
      @OldBaldDad 9 років тому +81

      David Kreiger I think you have to mix water with a lack of water (i.e. pour it into an empty cup) to have a remedy for dehydration. Since that empty cup also has a lack of sugar, it can cure hypoglycemia while you're at it.

      Eugene Khutoryansky Its less about governance and more about culture. The UK, but more specifically England, loves to keep a keen eye on its roots. Now while America does the same, its roots are in liberty and freedom from a monarchy. Our roots are in the prolonged rule of a monarchy, eventual overthrow and swift realization that we kinda liked it the way it was before. We did kick out our monarchs long ago, but changed our minds and reinstated them. For the most part, they are just part of a shared culture in the UK. N we also like to kid ourselves that the money we shell out gets returned two fold in tourist revenue.From that perspective they are more like zoo animals. We keep them in fancy cages and pay for the maintenance, but we charge tourists to come and gawp, and provide a booming merchandising industry. It is important to note however that if the Queen ever refused to swear in our elected official, she would be swiftly deposed. She has absolutely no power, and that is understood, regardless of all the titles.

    • @Root174
      @Root174 9 років тому +5

      Eugene Khutoryansky There is a difference between an absolute monarchy and a constitutional monarchy: one involves the monarch to have all the power, the other involves a parliament (and a senate) to hold the power.
      The UK is what you'd call a constitutional monarchy, as is the Netherlands for example.

    • @WashashoreProd
      @WashashoreProd 9 років тому +1

      Eugene Khutoryansky Basically, the monarchy is a figurehead, barely even a functional part of the political apparatus. For most of the last 400 years the real power's been in the House of Commons, and it's likely to stay that way for the foreseeable future.

    Allopathic medicine gives a fast result I agree. But I end up with 10 more things to worry about. Ever wonder why you have to take so many medicines together?
    With Homeopathy there's little to no side-effects whatsoever.
    I had a Cyst or stye (different doctors said different things) on my eye for 2 years. Asked my mom to gave me medicine (she's a homeopathy doctor) but I didn't really follow it through the way she asked me to. I didn't take it, the cyst/stye, seriously. She got angry and told me if I'm not going to be consistent with her medicine it's better if I go to alopathy doctors. Cause they usually give a weeks medicine and fast result.
    So I did....
    Doctors gave me eye-drops. Tons of medicine. Suggested surgery. I took meds for so long, and I took them religiously. It was so expensive....
    But nothing worked. Doctors told me I need to wait till it gets bigger so that they can remove it surgically.
    ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
    I apologized to my mother, told her I'll take the meds the way she prescribes.
    1 droper in a mug full of water. Mix it, drink one table-spoon and throw the rest away. Every morning, before brushing my teeth. No red meat until the course is over.
    2 months later, my eye looked normal again!! I went to the doctors, they proudly took credit because they think homeopathy is a scam. But rest assured I wipped the smileS off their smug faces.

      I recommend you visit the Boiron factory in France. The potentization involves trituration, dilution, and succussion. One needs to work with a homeopath to get the full cure usually. There is much more to homeopathy than just swallowing pills, although in some individuals that is enough to cure. Allopathy doesn’t cure, it just palliates symptoms, and sometimes palliation alone is a cure, such as setting a broken bone back into place. Homeopathy includes the palliation of Allopathy, but homeopathy looks at a much bigger picture of health.

      @Adam Craig We do know that homeopathy is anti-science though. That's not close-minded, that's science, ie repeatable, provable, consistent. Water does not have a memory. If it did, you would ingest all sorts of stuff with every mouthful from a glass of it, as it's all recycled. The premise itself is nonsensical and unproven.

    My experience - I had pollen and dust allergy and used to sneeze around 30 times in the morning and 100 times in the spring season almost every day. Though antihistamines are a temp solution, I never felt it was a long term solution. Just imagine sneeze constantly and runny and itchy nose.. I got to tell you guys, it is one of the worst feeling though it is not a serious illness. I used pollinosan 20 drops before food for 3 times a day for 6 months (supposed to be longer).. but trust me I don't seem to have it anymore for last more than an year. Though I don't recommend it for anything and everything, and I won't claim that it was all the homeopathic medicine, but I think there are certain things we should leave it at that. Just because it has very low concentrations we don't seem to believe that it works because we are trained to believe stronger antibiotic is better but is it killing the symptom or the problem is what matters. For me, you never know even if it was placebo effect - but what matters is it helped me eliminate my miserable state and I am grateful for that. I know people who had childhood grey hairs in like 7th grade all over and 3-5 year treatments helped. But I agree it is a fading art with lot of fakes out there..which makes it more difficult to keep the therapy alive and should be used only for specific stuff and shouldn't be looked as a cure for every disease.

    • @roshancheereth7540
      @roshancheereth7540 8 років тому +3

      Alex Murdoch I was trying to say is - while using antibiotics the typical thought is that stronger an antibiotic, faster you recover. Similarly, stronger the pesticide, better the crops. But we fail to recognize that there might be things which may work differently - say lower concentrations of allergents as a therapy which is being used as allergy shots as well. And my point is that some things work for some people. When people make blanket statements like "its just water" makes me feel too shallow a statement which lacks research and insight (because I know it worked for me) - which is probably driven by the great healthcare system and popular pharmacy giants.

    • @murdocha
      @murdocha 8 років тому +6

      +Roshan Cheereth I think you are misinformed. The dosage of antibiotics has tended to be lower over the years. The early over use and over dosage of antibiotics has lead to resistance and damage. The reason that there is a specified dosage over a specified time for antibiotics is intended to remediate these impacts. Yes, some medications work for some people and not others, and that is also important to physicians.
      The statment "it's just water" is based on solid chemistry. At dilutions above 12C, there is statistically more chance that the remedy doesn't contain a single molecule of the diluted substance. At levels of "potency" of 200C (Boiron's Oscillococcinum for example) you would never encounter a single molecule of the substance even if you took 1kg of pills every day for 1000 years.
      It's not a lack of research and insight, it's chemistry.
      "It worked for me" isn't classified as good evidence in medicine. The reason for that is that it's purely a subjective statement.
      Consider, for a moment, the level of testing that pharmaceuticals must go through, enforced by government. They must be tested for safety and efficacy. That big folded paper in a package is required to be there and contains all the information you need to make an informed decision. Dosage, contraindications, side effects etc. They also must be able to prove that the remedy is at least as effective as the current therapy, not placebo.
      With Homeopathy, the company needs to prove neither that it works, nor that it's safe. The second is easy, though. It's water and sugar pills. Not a major hazard, even to diabetics. The former could pose a problem. In over 2 centuries of practice, homepathy has yet to prove efficacy for any specific condition on a consistent basis.
      Consider, also, that a manufacturer is producing Billions of litres of "remedy" from a single mL of substance and selling it for thousands of percent markup over cost of materials. All without having to prove efficacy. Really, if you think "Big Pharma" is motivated by profits, they'd be producing magic water and sugar pills.

    Good sharing of facts. A little disappointed you didn't conclude a little more clearly. Homeopathy is on the same level as phrenology, astrology and magical thinking. Many will get the impression from this video that the scientific attitude is to see homeopathy as possibly a good form of legitimate medicine.... But if you had dug a little more into the utter implausibility of its central tenets in the context of everything we know about physics, chemistry and biology, instead of merely illustrating them with images and a rapid description -the subject would be clarified. Not only is there zero scientific evidence for homeopathy doing what it claims to do, the mechanism by which it claims to do it, method of creating remedies, and entire underlying way of thinking about the human body, illness and treatment is 100% fallacious.
    Mentioning meditation in the same breath as homeopathy and that there actually is good evidence for the benefits of meditation likewise perpetuates confusion, even thought we both know the two have nothing to do with one another.....

    When I was young and gullible in high school, I had some serious problems with anxiety. A friend of my mothers was swears by homeopathy and apparently new how to prescribe remedies for things. After a phone call of a random slurry of relevant and irrelevant questions (like when do you feel anxious, and do you prefer salty or sweet treats) she said she would need to asses my answers to pick the "right" remedy. I was then sent a little jar with mineral like balls inside and said to put two under my tongue until they dissolve once a day. I did this for about 5 days ... and didn't notice anything.
    Curious as to what this remedy actually was I asked my mother to ask that lady. As it turns out I was prescribed sodium chloride ....... That's right folks, I was given table salt as an anti-anxiety. I was young and gullible ... but not that stupid. Simply disrespectful.
    Years later I found help in conventional medicine which help me grow to a level in which I no longer needed it anymore. Ignorance is homeopathy's best friend.

Anyway, I do believe even if homeopathy medicines are almost a placebo, it is not the bad thing since placebos have tremendous effects on our thoughts to cure many diseases. Moreover, unlike allopathy drugs, those medicines don't have side effects. So, my honest claim is that if severe disease, go for allopathy treatments but if not, go for homeopathy because it won't aggravate the condition at least and moreover, many diseases require just patience on our hody's immune system , in that situation, homeopathy medicines can play an important role.

    If homeopathic drugs are so diluted , why do they have a taste. Plus, most medicines are preparations of natural extracts from a particular plant, or an inorganic chemical. For example- Syzigium jambonicum are extracts from a plant of the clove genus, which has blood pressure reducing qualities. Conium maculatum has a tropane alkaloid coniine, belladona has atropine and scopolamine from the nightshade which are important drugs in allopathy, kali phos, kali mur are inorganic preparations. New patients are given minimal potency drugs whose potency is regulated according to patients response. I think its a better approach than allopathy.

If you're having trouble sleeping, take a substance that induces wakefulness (like caffeine) and dilute it. That's the basis of it. Melatonin is used to induce drowsiness, so if it was homeopathic (and 6X isn't), it would work to keep you alert.

    Homeopathy has an opposite logic as the one in traditionnal medicine based on chemistry. In chemistry, the more you have a component, the more effect it produces.
    Homeopathy on the other hand, relies on principles now finally understood by quantum physics and wave lenghts that form this "memory" in the water solution it is diluted in.
    BASICALLY : you're not giving your body something to make it better, you're telling your body through complex signals that there is something wrong and what it is, and then the body uses it's own varied set of defenses to cure itself.
    So bottom line, homeopathy works and is usually much easier to use than traditionnal medicine because the lack of chemical components means less secondary effects, but CAN still cause bad effects if used wrongly (proof that it has an effect btw) and is NOT a replacement for eeeeverything in medicine, just a better alternative in some cases or a complimentary solution.
    Hope this cleared the doubts of at least some people !
    Short note for people calling placebo effect : there's homeopathy for when a baby's teeth are coming out and it makes the gums less red and the baby stops crying even though he can't possibly have a placebo effect since he doesn't know you're giving him something.

    I have been using homeopathy for all my life and I have to say that we don't look to the other side of drugs and medicine because homeopathy is not a replacement of medicine or drugs the only difference is that if you take a hole bottle of homeopathy it won't really do a harmful effect but in the other hand, if you take a hole bottle of medicine or drugs it would really do a harmful effect So that is the difference between homeopathy and medicine

    So, I have a legit question that I would really like answered. How can a seed, kept in a dry bag, months maybe years that's for most understanding dead simply be put in soil and given water, in some cases just water, and make life? It basically creates life out of something nonliving. I'm so confused!

  • @Asymyth
    @Asymyth 9 років тому

    I could see it working on 2 levels.
    1. The consultation is the key not the water. You're treating loneliness, need for validation, anxiety of unanswered questions, anxiety of helplessness. Get the body out of its own way so it can heal. Water without context is just water.
    2. You can't say its a placebo and then say it doesn't work. There's a DNews video about how they do work. Sure the glass is a prop, the pomp and circumstance of diluting the water and shaking the bottle builds a stronger expectation and gives it time develop. Like foreplay, talking about coffee, the best you've ever had, the time you ordered so many shots you could taste the caffeine, the body preps the compounds to counter what it expects. Then you take the money shot with a sliver of a sliver of caffeine and that triggers the release and the body floods with compounds that weren't there before.
    The base assumption that the only way to release compounds into the body is to inject them is wrong.
    I've been thinking about this for over 6 hours now, I'm probably an expert.
    TLDR sure, its mindfuck witchcraft, doesn't mean its completely ineffective.

    • @Alexiaden93
      @Alexiaden93 9 років тому

      Asymyth The point is, it's ineffective compared to placebo. Also, plenty of medicines aren't administered intravenously, not sure who made that base assumption.
      Although if you wanted to compare the effectiveness of different placebos, you'd find that injecting water into your blood would have a stronger placebo effect than drinking in, in terms of expectation etc.

    • @andychen7390
      @andychen7390 9 років тому

      Asymyth Except that there is basically no more molecules of the original substance left in the final product. What caffeine is there for the body to react to? As for placebos, they DON'T work. They act on the brain, but not the ailment.

    • @Jindorek
      @Jindorek 9 років тому

      ***** im not sure what you are asking for here but "before" and "after" pictures prove nothing. and even if they are legit, it is clear that the child still has the eczema, it simply went into its dormant state, and might very likely flare up again as it does in almost all cases. that "advert" proves nothing. homeopathy is still bullshit. the ONLY difference is the amount of interaction that you get from a homeopathic doctor, and therein lies the magic. if proper doctors spent more time asking questions instead of just scripting meds, people would be better off.

    • @Director.X
      @Director.X 9 років тому +1

      Jindorek These are not just before and after pictures. This clinical evidence. The specifics about this patient are included the photographs are documenting patient progress. There are two cases here. Each showing significant improvement. "it is clear that the child still has the eczema" are suggesting the improvement is not significant? If you are, you are being willfully dishonest. If you are suggesting that the remission is random then what are the chances that these remission are just around the time they saw this specific homeopath? If you are suggesting that this eczema went into remission because the amount of time the homeopath spent with a $ MONTH YEAR OLD INFANT and that is what made this eczema clear then why does not every doctor do such. The mere suggestion is ridiculous. I will need links to clinical studies that support that claim. If you want to debunk this clinical evidence you will need clinical studies on infants. It is obvious the homeopathy is working here. Go back to the drawing board and find new talking points. "the ONLY difference is the amount of interaction that you get from a homeopathic doctor" hahahaha with a 4 month old haaaaaa!!!!!!!!

    • @Jindorek
      @Jindorek 9 років тому +1

      i dont think you know what "clinical evidence" means. what accompanies the photos are what we call anecdotal evidence, based on hearsay. the improvement is not significant, because it doesnt mean it has gone away, people with eczema go through stages of attacks all the time and in between the sites look perfectly normal, until the next attack occurs. do you actually have any clinical background ? have you actually seen or spoken to patients ? I deal with patients everyday. and homeopathy has never cured anything. because it can't. the only thing it can do is maybe, just maybe give you a good bowel movement if you drank the entire bottle of pills at once. and that's cause it contains lactulose, the ONLY ingredient in homeopathic tablets. go do some real research. oh and when i referred to time spent with patients i was speaking in general, not this specific case. in the case of the baby the "doctor" did nothing but wait for the bodies natural immune system to calm down, as it would have done anyway.

    It taxes my credulity to think that for nearly 200 years every practitioner and patient of homoeopathy has been consistently wrong in their reporting of methods and results, and in fact either lying, stupid or delusional.
    Indeed, would it not be more rational to assume that in homoeopathy, we have met a phenomenon that we neither understand nor can explain given our present scientific knowledge?
    Perhaps it may be that as yet we lack the technology to assess it accurately: perhaps our instruments of measurement are insufficiently sophisticated.
    To dismiss homeopathy out of hand because we cannot grasp it's mechanics - to assume that all of the scientific discoveries to be made have been made - seems not only irrational and unscientific, but overtly anti-scientific.

    • @makaiawarfield1028
      @makaiawarfield1028 6 років тому

      The reason why people 200 years ago were wrong about medicine is the same as why people 600 years ago thought the earth was flat- they didn't have the technology, and their beliefs at the time dictated the way they thought the world worked. Now, we have more evolved science, and the science says that there is no evidence that homeopathy works, or evidence that homeopathy doesn't work. The parts of homeopathy and alternative medicine that did work have evolved along with our knowledge and are now simply called medicine. To dismiss what the science says- science about the mind, and the body, and medicine, and it's investigations of homeopathy- in light of the evidence we have, strikes me as being irrational and overtly anti-scientific.

Part of the human DNA is quantum, every cell in our body is partially quantum, thats way it works so diluted.( dont ask me, google stuff,educate yourself) Every human has an energy field, light body if you will, innate, whatever you call it. Similar way the affirmations work on the quantum level. You can also talk to your cells they will hear you. Everything is vibration, energy.

    The placebo effect is often underutilised or under optimised in medicine today for untreatable diseases or ailments. For example the effect of the placebo can be increased by a number of things like the cost of the medicine, the size of the pill, the number of pills taken and the frequency.
    But that doesn't undermine the danger of taking homeopathic medicine for perfectly treatable conditions. If you're ill, go to a Doctor. If the Doctor really can't help you, then do whatever hocus pocus, witchcraft as you wish and homeopathy is perhaps the safest of them all, because it's just water :-)

    Just to make a point; meditation was once considered pseudoscience, until more precise instruments were developed that could measure its effect on the human body.
