I have been on suboxone for awhile now. I haven't touched a street drug in over 15 years. From my experience and a short stretch with benzos, benzos are by far the worst drug ever to quit. It's not just withdrawals. Your mind changes. Your anxiety becomes red-lined. Your entire nervous system feels like an engine with the pedal to the floor. You are unable to function on any level. Mentaly and physically. I have dealt with withdrawals of every kind early in my life, but benzos are the worst. Nothing you can do ir take will help. Not even opiates. I am so glad it was only 2 or 3 months months of hell, but take my word, it will be the most difficult and debilitating thing you will ever deal with if you start taking benzos and quit or run out. You literally should exhaust every possible option before touching them. All it takes is a week or more of use and your screwed.

Was a pill abuser for about 12 yrs, hard life and very expensive. Started Subs about 13yrs ago and it saved my life literally. I'm a normal non felon committing father of a much better than me 13yro girl and just celebrated my 19yr of marriage. Ill always be on suboxone 3 a day and thats fine.

I’ve been on sub longer than anyone I’ve ever heard of. Being serious. I’m currently in the last stages of finally getting off. If I understand what you’re saying is you’re taking 3 films or doses per day? TRUST me when I tell you that’s way way more than you need. The first few years I was on it my original doctor wasn’t very smart / ethical about it but it was basically a new medication. No one I knew even heard of it for a long time after I’d been on it. He was way overprescribing it to me. My point is at least 18 years I’ve been very comfortable on one film a day. Sometimes I’d ask to bump up to 1snd1/2. I know everyone is different and definitely not preaching and I’m not even sure that’s what you meant so I apologize if I misunderstood. But I’ve been on this journey and it probably did save my life honestly, since 2003 with sub. And honestly I can’t even believe it’s legal to prescribe more than at the very most 2 doses a day.@ each(8mg). Nobody needs that much. I guarantee it would not be that hard to taper down to 1 dose per day. I swear. Today is day 40 since I quit. I hope the worst is over. 21 years I’ve had sub on my person and took it as prescribed for 21 years. And now I have none at all. The pharmacy has had my script ready for many weeks but I’m not going to go get them. It sounds like you have a great family and a lot going for you, that’s why I took the time to give you this advice. If someone is telling you 24 mg is a good thing for you… they are either ignorant or corrupt. Good luck and Godspeed.

First i stoped using cocain and my cuting off of suboxon lasted for 18monthd. I was slowly tapering. I came of,had a big crisis. I waited for one year and than i did the same with xanax.
I am 3 years suboxon clean and 10months xanax clean.

I’ve been tapering off of 1 mg of Ativan for over a year. I’m down to .05 mg and having severe stomach issues. I’m holding until the symptoms subside if they ever do. I’m wondering if I should just jump off and deal with the symptoms since I’m at such a low dose?

get checked to see if your stomach problems are caused by something else. I'm having severe stomach issues now and i'm stable on all my meds but still suffer from an ibs type syndrome. See a G.I. Doctor and get checked. Much love -Lance

It really sucks how your in chronic pain and you go to the doctor and they give you pain meds which in turn take away the pain which leads you to be productive and do the things you need to do then the doctor tells you that you have opioid use disorder so they take you off pain meds and put you on suboxone and you just have to deal with the pain it’s counterproductive

Yes, I would 100% have to agree that it is very hard to find a doctor that is not only willing to work with you but also educated enough and I’m not sure exactly how to word this but I guess I kind of feel like progressive may be ahead of the curve especially me being in my position I am nobody special, but I have had a very unlucky set up circumstances that of happened to me throughout my lifetime, some of which were unavoidable like that I was diagnosed with ADHD hyperactivity, and just a very, very OCD obsessive compulsive a disorder when I was younger, and I was basically forced not only myself was I forced to take hard-core medication‘s at the age of six and seven years old but my mother was actually at the time this was back in the 80s and I remember the school actually trying to like threaten my mother that if she did not sedate me or put me on these medication’s that they would not let me go to school and then if I didn’t go to school that she would get in trouble and she wouldn’t lose custody of me it was crazy but they used to tell my mother all because they couldn’t handle me because I was bored with everything they were teaching us. I knew everything that they were teaching us and it just it was so boring. I couldn’t sit there and listen to the same thing 10 times over regardless I’m on the worst medication‘s that you can possibly get it sucking me a hell of a time trying to find doctors are all my life because I was in a motorcycle accident so I been on every pain medication. You can imagine. I have a lot of issues with like a chemical, imbalance bipolar, really bad, panic attacks and anxiety and a few other things needless to say and so I am on medication for stuff like that as well and it also doubles because one of the medication‘s is really good is used for a nerve blocker and some people take it to get messed up I guess but I don’t think it works like that. Somehow I don’t know why people take it. I think you have to be to drink alcohol with it or something but I’m on that plus I was on muscle relaxers, but I stopped taking those so I am on opiates, benzos and amphetamines all at the same time every month every day and the doctors have a hissy fit sometimes feeling at all but there’s nothing they can do because I’ve been on it since I was six years old and the doctors used to force my mother to make me take this stuff and no But I’ve got really lucky throughout my lifetime I was hit while I was riding my motorcycle and I took me a year and a half to learn how to walk again and I have nerve damage. I have a spinal hemangioma which is basically just a tumor growing around my L4 and L5 vertebrae so I deal with constant pain and shooting Nerve pain like electrical jolt going down the back of my leg or from my buttocks up to the back of my shoulder blades almost nerves do a lot of weird stuff. Needless to say it is very hard to find a doctor that has been willing to work with me throughout the years, seeing as how I think I’m gonna pretty much be on pain medication for the rest of my life. Unfortunately, I was prescribed everything from fentanyl to morphine OxyContin to delighted to Vicodin, basically I’ve been prescribed every single pain medication out there. The only one I did not get prescribed was the old Pana and that’s because that came out after I was lucky enough to stop taking all that vacation I was prescribed 20 mg oxycodone IR for instant release and breakthrough pain and then I was prescribed the highest I got was 60 mg OxyContin, which is just time release Oxycodone and then I was also the best pain medication that I’ve ever been on was 90 mg a day of dolophine which is an amazing pain medication but a lot of people look at it as if it has a bad stigma and it deters people from getting it as apainmed even though it’s probably in my book this pain medication that I have tried out there long this last thing in it works for not only physical and acute pain but also nerve pain and it helps to dull a lot of the sharp shooting pain full sensation… oh, so as I was saying, I’m on the trifecta of the worst of the worst that anybody can be prescribed. I have been on amphetamines😮 because my ADHDADD diagnoses when I was a kid with a slight possibility of maybe autism.

If they were i would take them. My anxiety is the full scale every month when im assessed by my psychiatrist and has been for many years.

      Taper yourself
It is comfortably done if your taper is slow enough
Go down say 2mg to 14 and stay on this dose for about 2 weeks then do the same again and again tell your down to about 4 mg then start taking .50 of a mill off each taper day
The idea is you feel zero withdrawal effects Mabye a bit of discomfort but if u find it hard, cut less at a time

It wouldn’t be blocking anymore by that point
Of course the higher dose your on the harder it’s going to block and longer
Likely no one will answer this because every person is different as far as this goes but 3-4 days is the usual amount of time
I was on 32 mg at one point and the block was extreme in comparison to say 4 mg
The higher dose fills the receptor fully where the smaller dose leaves spaces
