As a weapon alternative, you can put a few Disrupter 3300 Electron Beams and sell the other starter weapons. Great firepower, took out a level 50 ship with them.
@delindsay 0:30 The unique 'Frontier' hab was really just a Nova Galactic All-in-one type A with Barret's personal notes and decorations. It was not any different other than that.
Frontier hab = All-in-one berth (but it has Barretts logs that keep re-spawning when you modify your ship). I like your Frontier 2.0! I did a similar move with mine, but when I upgraded to B reactor... so it took on a little weight. Starfield made me pick up a book with some details on the planets of our solar system. Decided I'd get educated and blend ship-building with knowledge of the planets next to earth. My goal (long-term in video-game terms) is to build 8 distinct ships, each named after planets our own own system. Mercury, Venus to Uranus, Neptune. Maybe Pluto as a 9th. But each ship needs to have different cockpit/bridge, and also be distinctly different depending on the impressions I get from the various compositions of our planets, colours, etc.. IE.: Mercury, being so high in metal, being drastic in ridges and pitted, rough... I want it to have lots of hopetech with structural railing-type stuff. On the other hand, something like Jupiter, might give me more of a Taiyo vibe, bulbeous (gas giant).. but then, I'm focusing on one planet at a time. ..maybe a hommage to Event Horizon (movie) with a planet like Neptune or Pluto.
The frontier is a good starter ship, its better to wait to upgrade it at lvl 12 when the 20 power reactor gets unlocked (theres another one 20 power with litle more hull at lvl 14), it will serve well untill level 20 at the point a 29 power class C reactor get unlocked and its a good point to start boarding enemies ships and eventually youll find a good one thats worth to upgrade to that 29 power reactor. On NG+ the frontier is useless as you get a free starborn ship.
Indeed, even this upgraded Frontier isn't going to fair terribly well once you're fighting say, Level 64+ Tier III Ships. Also to be fair, the Great Eagle is superior to this build, but, it has parts that you cannot purchase without Skills so you get lucky since it's a Quest reward.
To me, the Frontier appears more like an oversized shuttle or courier ship than a proper exploration vessel. Yours is an apparent upgrade, but still not a very practical ship imho. Also you probably wouldn't be able to really see much out of that rear window, since the engine plumes would likely obfuscate everything. And one good hit from an pursuing enemy's weapon and you got yourself a nice, big explosive decompression hole that'd suck everything out back before any airlock can engage, seeing how slow those things operate.
Indeed. This is a mid-Teens to say mid 30's "upgrade" of the Frontier. The Star Eagle is far superior as it comes (except Weapons), and is free after a long questline. And I can state as fact the Star Eagle, properly upgraded to the max a Class-A can be) can be you forever Ship.
@@highlorddarkstar That's good to know. Like I said in the video, it's been a hot minute since I had it on my Frontier, so hard to remember everything about it, or how the OG Frontier was in every detail.

I always thought that it was strange for the Frontier to be Constellation's ship. I mean Walter Friggin' Stroud is a high level member of the group. Is he okay with a competitor's vessel being the poster child?? (At least he didn't give us an 'R' as the Frontier 2. Hmmm, that's an idea.)
Nova Galactic 2x1 All In One Berth A is the same hab including the research station, thankfully you don't get Barret's notes respawnkng constantly. Still get the broken helmet tho.
I don't have access to the Dream Home so can't answer to that. I've had mixed luck with the Small Landing Pad. Early on it seemed to work fine but now my Ships never land on it, even the "micro" Fighters and what not.
@@delindsay I've only tried two ships, a 40m customized Lil Muv and my personal custom 70+m exploration ship that looks like a turtle, and only the larger ship can land on the small landing pad. I haven't figured out the logic for it yet, but I think it has more to do with the ship's footprint than the actual length.
@@EllieODaire Hmm, footprint might be the right angle to look at it. As always with BGS games, it's hard to tell what's a bug and what's a feature lol.
@@delindsay an update to this: I slightly modified the 40 meter ship to have a smaller footprint by pulling the landing bay back a single slot and now the ship can land on small landing pads even though the overall length of the ship remains the same. I think that may indeed be the logic!

@@oldman1973 Fixed, thanks.
Another great video, but umm… what unique hab? I’m confused. It came only with the Nova Galactic 2x1 all in one berth, or am I missing something else?
The 2x1 Hab the Frontier comes with is one of a kind. If you sell it, you cannot get it back.
It’s specifically called “Frontier “ in the Hab name.
