I'm so glad most of the Bates got UA-cam channels cuz I really love the Bates family I wish they still had their TV show but at least I get to watch you guys through UA-cam
@Granny, isn’t it crazy? I spent so many years cooking for a large family, and I thought I’d keep doing it. But now, with jus5 two of us, I barely feel like eating. I cook and eat two bites and I’m full, and I don’t like getting a lot of dishes dirty these days, and cleaning up for only 2 people. My hubby always wants to eat early and I’m not hungry till 8pm. So it’s mostly catch as catch can! And we let sooooo many leftovers go bad in the fridge when I ALWAYS used every last scrap.
Awww....take a cooking class together. Or, invite your mom's over to teach you how to prepare some of your fav food! You guys are so genuine. Loving your channel.
Great to hear that Lydia will be in the process of becoming a United States citizen!!!! 2023 will be a very exciting year for you both and I'm sure Lydia will learn to be an excellent cook for her husband and future children.
I remember when we first came home from our honeymoon and I realized that my groom wasn’t going home because he was home! Almost 40 years ago and it’s been the best blessing EVER!
Enjoy your time together as long as the Lord allows. Once those babies start coming, they're with you forever. 🤣 We've been married for 23 years & we're still learning things about each other. Use this time to still date each other, work hard, travel the US, & save your money towards a home of your own. We love taking long rides & day trips around our state. May the Lord bless y'all even more in the New Year & continue putting Him 1st in your lives. Happy New Year's. 😊
@@ASmith-jn7kf I meant that once you have babies, that the babies turn into kids, who turn into adults & you're never alone anymore. I know they eventually leave the nest, but sometimes they don't. 😆
Good luck with the citizenship quest - I hope it goes smoothly - it’s truly a blessing to have the necessary financial resources to make it happen. I wish it weren’t so expensive because there are so many parents who are escaping deadly conditions in their home countries and just want a safe place to raise their kids but are hassled when they try to come to the US because they are poor.
You never get time alone back. Enjoy it. Getting married is a huge adjustment. Having kids is a huge adjustment. We waited several years and we loved our time together!
You should invest in a 4 ingredient cook book. It'll make cooking easy. I love when you talk about your families. Best marriage advice I can give you is always thank each other for the little things you do for the family.I've been married 24 yrs. we still thank each other for dishes, lawnwork, wash, meals, etc. we do for each other or the family. Don't take it for granted they'll always do them. Appreciation! is the key
Y’all are adorable..just wanna say..don’t rush into becoming parents. My husband and I got pregnant 3 months into marriage and though I love my kids dearly (mom of 4 now) I sometimes wish I would’ve waited just a tad longer & just enjoyed my time as a newlywed..❤
I use the notes section on my iPhone like crazy. The best thing I’ve done is keep a list of dinner and sides for ideas as I make my menu. We have weekly staple meals and I try to make a new recipe once a week. Also, you can add a person to a note and they can edit so that’s how I keep my weekly menu then shopping list for each store. My husband can see the menu and both of us can add items to the grocery list as we need them or after I make the next weeks menu so I don’t forget anything. Crockpot meals are great and if you make a full recipe you should have enough to freeze for a second dinner. No wasting and sometimes it’s too much for leftovers
For cooking, have Trace grill out so many days through the week, and you can take the other days and switch dishes. If he cooks you do dishes, and vice versa. It helps a ton.
Newlywed time period is such a special time. Once the babies start coming it is difficult to be spontaneous and free to just go where the wind blows 😂 I was married young and had a baby a year later. Looking back I missed having time to just focus on my husband. Love my children and now grandkids and everything worked out as it should but I do wish I would of had more time as a newly married couple. You are older as I was 19 when married and a Mom at 20. 3 children but 27 and family was complete. So with you being older that is a plus for having babies. You two are just the cutest and thanks for allowing us to follow along in your journey. God Bless and Happy New Year!
Recommendation for food (how I learned) and I hope this helps in any way: professional UA-cam Cooking Channels, pick one, go through their recipes, and learn from the pros so you get it right the first time i.e how to chop, prep, and so forth certain veg and meats that you wouldn’t necessarily learn from a home cook if that makes sense! It also helps to lay out all the ingredients first so you have everything to hand. And if just follow the recipe for the first year or so and you can’t go wrong, it will build your confidence and that will inspire you to keep cooking! 🎉 sending you both love and joy and to everyone reading this!
Enjoy yourselves and life while you’re young. Then have children. We were married 8 yrs before having children. Tried, but the Lord said not now. We have 2 beautifully handsome boys. And 2 grandchildren. Enjoy life while you can! ❤️
Hello you two! It really feels like we know your family! So many connections, but mostly that my best friend is the mother-in-law of Kelton's dear cousin that lives in Ohio. We met Kelton a few years ago when he visited her. Our friendship with her family is close enough that some of our family will be staying in NC with her family on their way to Florida. Anyhow....I wanted to mention that if you're ever going down to Florida to visit family & want a romantic getaway, we have a house on "Paradise", Marco Island. We rent it out for a reasonable rate & would love to have some Bates family use it. It is about 1 1/2 mile from the beach. A perfect bike ride! So much more to say, but we can discuss more if God blesses with further communication. Thanks for the sweet videos! God bless you & keep you, make His face shine upon you...
My husband and I have been married for 32 years and we ( well I) still have discussions on where things go. But my 5 year old Grandson is helping me with that. I'm learning not to stress if things aren't exactly where I want them.🥰 Love learning more about you guys.
Coffee is definitely a must . Talking is so important no matter how difficult the situation. Don’t sweat the small stuff life is too short . Always praying good things for the two of y’all
I've watched the Bates kids grow up through their TV show and loved them. Love Lydia. It's really cool that she's from another country. The thing I don't understand why people would ask if she was a citizen. Why does it matter🤷♀️. Hopefully you guys can meet all your goals for this year! Love you guys. Thank you for your UA-cam channel.
Same she her family move from Germany to seek Ayslum in US so able to homeschool legally. Since in Germany it is illegal to homeschool. There was story about their family.
Whew y'all were so nervous 😂 it was adorable seeing y'all try so hard not to say too much about disagreements and what marriage is really like! Pray together always and laugh together often!
I love you two, so perfectly matched and Lydia meshed with your big family like a hand in a glove. I see how close Trace is with his Mom and every girl watches for that do she knows how tender loving your man will be. Look forward to your videos.❤
Y'all R the sweetest couple, A good choice for date nights is taking some cooking classes or having family members come over to teach u y'all how to make different kinds of meals. Oh hangry is absolutely real, I suffer from it too. Hope Y'alls New Year is Fantastic!!
My husband learned the same thing about me on our honeymoon. I kept telling him I needed to eat but he thought that meant in the next hr or two. NO. NOW! We bought a cooler and kept it stocked in the car:)
I don’t think you would do this, but please don’t let people, social media, etc, rush you into having a baby right away. Give yourselves time to enjoy and get to know each other because once that baby is here, everything changes and you can’t put it back 😂
Daily Audio Bible is good I did it in 2022! First time ever and feel like first time staying with something! That is very Wedding Planner! 😂😂😂 I'm sorry for what I said when I was HANGRY. That is so sweet. I love that y'all love family, my son lives in town and NOTHING, not even a text or a call. 🙏 for that please. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I hope you guys actually take the time to travel and enjoy one another. Lydia has many years to have children lol. It would just be nice to see one of y'all explore being married before popping out kiddos. Happy New Year 🎆 Hope it's a great one!
Me and my husband married at 17 graduated and he went in service 11 months later we had a son. Then 3 years later a daughter. We have now been married 38 years and still in love. One of the arguments we had was he squeezed the toothpaste from the center so we solved it by him getting his own toothpaste and I got my own...Have to find ways to compromise. And God is the head of our marriage.
If your mom's or dad's come to your home would you please let them be on your video because I miss seeing them on tellavision and I love you all and love watching you all each week God bless you all and your families ❤️

I was lucky enough to have amazing grandmothers and my step grandmother, along with lots of Aunts(2nd mothers) and my amazing Momma that are all southern farming country women that had me in the kitchen standing on a stool or chair helping by the time I was 3...so cooking without a recipe and creating my own comes easily. I am also married to a chef so he does his share of meals as well. Had I not had my entire life of wonderful cooks to teach me I would definitely look into Everyplate. They send your order to you with all your ingredients pre measured for each recipe and the recipe cards are so simple to follow and you create delicious meals. Maybe that is something y'all could look into and use those as little stay at home date nights as you learn together to become more comfortable in the kitchen. I absolutely adore you two and how real you are! God bless you both and your families this new year and all the years to come.
Enjoy this time before kids come along. It's a very special time of life. I know I wish I would have appreciated my time with just my husband pre kids more.
Lydia: Don't look it up! Me: *immediately searches for her show* lol!! I love your videos. If you do another Q&A I would love to know, has Trace learned any German, and would you raise your kids bilingual? xx

question: Lydia, why did you move on your own with friends? Also, the benefits of having alot of siblings is extra hands when you need help or when you need to move. And hopefully free babysitting one day when you're blessed with a child 😁 btw. Can you share some of the questions or conversations you had during premarital counseling loved this Q&A thanks for posting xoxo
What a great first date, bc it gave a good opening for conversation. Not only for a topic but to discuss something emotional, since the ride included a “harrowing experience”.
I get it when you say that you feel guilty not spending much time with your family, Trace's family and your own friends so you both should have more people coming over to your place, you both still have to give time to each other and that is the most important part
My husband sons are from Germany his first wife is German when he was in the service over there around Frankfurt all the boys are here in the states now ❤️ the oldest son he learned how to be a butcher over in Germany so he can process our deer for us and his own also he nows different cuts of meat to do
Hi Lydia and Trace. Greetings from the Netherlands. I’m Dutch and my Husband is German. We are married for over 40 years. We live in th the Netherlands but at home my husband and I speak German most of the time. Sometimes we mix both languages 😂. I was wondering if Lydia still speaks German? I love you and all of your family ❤. May the Lord bless you both and your marriage 🙏🏻❤️
You are a beautiful couple, and God new you were made for each other, take one day at a time, keep asking The Lord to guide your steps, daily, study the word together,as that's important for your life together,God Bless you always,💜💜🙏🙏
Dude , you said it for me . Like I’m 29 but I’m loving life , if I had a kid it would be great but not to TRY , like let us hang together for a bit , god will give when needed ❤
I didn't know to cook when I got married. It comes with time. Luckily my ex-husband knew how to cook. You guys are doing great. Happy New Year ❤️❤️🎉🎊🎊 Take your time on having babies. Exactly in the Lord's time.
Lydia I was an immigrant came to this country with my green card and 5 years after I become a US citizen it's a little bit expensive now in those days it was only like $60 but you have to get to it that's the best thing ever I know it's expensive but it's money worth spend good luck 👍🙏
Don’t let people rush y’all into having children. Just enjoy your new life together. Get to know each other better!
I'm so glad most of the Bates got UA-cam channels cuz I really love the Bates family I wish they still had their TV show but at least I get to watch you guys through UA-cam
Out of all the questions… I’m so glad you’re going to enjoy each other before babies.
Ha I’m 52 years married and I still dread the "what shall we have for dinner" conversation 😂
@Granny, isn’t it crazy? I spent so many years cooking for a large family, and I thought I’d keep doing it. But now, with jus5 two of us, I barely feel like eating. Great idea
That's a good idea! Learn how to cook, enjoy some time together and have fun:)

They can also die

Twins are great! They are a lot of work but then again entertain each other.. ❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻
Happy new year may the Lord bless you both with all your dreams.

Love the Bates so much. You two are such a great couple. Praying it all goes smooth for Lydia to get her citizenship.
Happy New Year.
More time together you will grow... it's ok to be different..... you both have good Heart... children will come..
I read the whole Old Testament in 2022. I will be reading the New Testament this year and other inspirational talks and books.
Happy new year, i hope and pray that yall are blessed with a wonderful year. Learning and loving together 💙❤❣️❣️
Lydia: Don't look it up! Me: *immediately searches for her show* lol!! I love your videos. If you do another Q&A I would love to know, has Trace learned any German, and would you raise your kids bilingual? xx
What do I search to find this show of her?
Happy New Year Trace and Lydia!!! And Maui !!
Would of been nice if you could of gotten Chad and Erin’s house.
Take your time and grow in your relationship before having kids. Your relationship is still very young. Spend time together, take trips together and grow your relationship.
That is a very sweet house!!
It’s fun to get to know you both. I’ve been married 30 years and struggle with meal planning so I always admire those who do that well. I can see in a small space and Maui being deaf why being the only pet is good for him. I do hope your 2023 has many blessings 😊
Seriously we are married 42 yrs and we have never had real fights. Like you just hangry tiffs. Then we laugh about it. We never go to bed to without saying we love each other and 1st thing we say when we get up. Yes enjoy life and each other!
Happy New Year 🎆 I enjoyed this! You have plenty of time for children just enjoy each other for a while! Love and Prayers Always
You two are such a great couple! Love your videos, thanks for sharing your lives with us…
Blessings for a wonderful life ahead of you guys, can't wait to see what the future holds, love German food and definitely need coffee ☕
🎉Happy New Year! A lot of great questions and fun getting to learn more about you too. and your cat is beautiful ❤🙏
question: Lydia, why did you move on your own with friends?
Also, the benefits of having alot of siblings is extra hands when you need help or when you need to move. And hopefully free babysitting one day when you're blessed with a child 😁
btw. Can you share some of the questions or conversations you had during premarital counseling
loved this Q&A thanks for posting xoxo
What a great first date, bc it gave a good opening for conversation. Not only for a topic but to discuss something emotional, since the ride included a “harrowing experience”.
I absolutely love you two, such a beautiful couple, enjoy each other, time flies by just enjoy,God 🙏 Bless you both.
I get it when you say that you feel guilty not spending much time with your family, Trace's family and your own friends so you both should have more people coming over to your place, you both still have to give time to each other and that is the most important part
Get out that crock pot and toss some meat and veggies in, there are super easy one pot recipes. You guys are so sweet! 🎉happy 2023
Sounds like you two of a lot of good goals this year especially getting your businesses more stable. Babies can wait a bit 😊
My husband sons are from Germany his first wife is German when he was in the service over there around Frankfurt all the boys are here in the states now ❤️ the oldest son he learned how to be a butcher over in Germany so he can process our deer for us and his own also he nows different cuts of meat to do
Trace said, "I have 18 siblings" casually 🤣🤣
Great QandA!! Thanks for answering all these questions.
