After 10 months this map is finally COMPLETE! I'm so happy because i wanted to finish it before the end of the year, but i didn't expect it to be done a day before!

This turned out flipping awesome!! Thank you so much for hosting this MAP, and thank you to all the animators for helping it become something awesome. I can’t believe it’s finished now, and I love those credits with Oakstar crying over Frecklewish and her in StarClan- and then her being in the DarkForest with Mapleshade was so cool. I just really like how the music suddenly stops and turns eerie :0
I love the perspective this MAP takes. I don't think anyone's really sat down to see how Freckle might've felt through this whole ordeal, and how unfair it was to her. She just lost her brother and wanted to care for his legacy, only to discover it was all a lie and her brother's death was a cover-up, which is extremely disrespectful. So creative!

One thing i can always appreciate is that frecklewish isint babied like in alot of other frecklewish maps ive seen, im proud to be in this map and its by far the best frecklewish map ever!

I love how the map showed Frecklewish's life without covering up the part where she actually saw the mapleshade and the kits being swept away by the current.
In her defense, she seen a RC patrol and thought they'd save them all

She didn't even bother to see if they were okay or not, she let the anger take her head and just didn't care anymore about kits she saw grow up, regardless of mapleshade's lie, the kits were innocent just like her and loved her, yet she made the decision not even to stay to see if they were ok, besides, the patrol wasn't that close and they only found out that there were kittens in the water after they rescued mapleshade, at this point it was too late, I don't hate frecklewish and I don't think she deserves the dark forest, but she's not purely innocent either, if she had stayed she could have warned the patrol and given the kits one more chance to survive, but she didn't, if she was really good and if she didn't want the kits to harm she would have done anything. If frecklewish was really that good, would she really have turned her back and walked away just because she got mad at mapleshade? I'm sorry but I can't believe it. I know mapleshade, so I can say she's evil, but I don't know frecklewish this good, this only thing I know about her, is that she was nice to a cat that she thought was with her brother's kittens, that's like being nice to your family, it doesn't mean you're a good person, the other thing i know about her is that she didn't even show concern when kits were drowning leaving with only the excuse that there were other cats around to help, when even though she was the closest one just didn't do anything, didn't even ask for help or show up.
She never saw them get swept away.
@@0.721x Yes, she did, the only thing she not did, is watching they drowning, but she saw the moment when mapleshade is carried by the current and consequently the kits too, since it was at the same time.

To be real Mapleshad never "fell", she was dragded away from the stones by the river current.
@@biancasouza5596 That’s Mapleshade assuming she watched them drown. It doesn’t explicitly say that she did either. If you even read the chapter where they’re at the river, it says that it was raining so hard that Mapleshade had to close her eyes. In other words, it's too hard to cross the river normally. And no one would have been able to see anything. So please explain logically how freckle would be able to see four cats drown in a heavily raining, dark and foggy river at night. The book literally revolves around an unreliable narrator.
I love the map but the part that bothers me is the part were freckle wish saw the kits drowning... The thing is I believe she saw went to see if she was off the territory and when she went to check the kits weren't drowning, she would have helped but she saw cats on the other side of the territory and thought they would have told maple shade to stop or would have helped them crossed over (love the map though)
And all fan be like "oh- she didn't save them, she bad person" frecklewish doesn't even know how to swim and yes it can be selfless but honestly would you rather throw your life away just to save 3 kit, only for you and the 3 kit dead
She didn't deserve hell. She's one of my favorites due to how interesting she is and the many ways you can interpret her. I reckon she felt very guilty about how she acted in the exile and the kits' deaths. Not about her harshness to Maple though which is fair considering everything. But the her words to the kits? I don't think she meant it. And I think it's interesting that she grieves though anger. It's different. A lot of cats in the series just cry and whatnot which is a fine reaction but it gets boring. She probably almost tore Appledusk apart at the next gathering after Birchface's death. My question in regards to her grief however is, where was Oakstar? No seriously. Where was he for her? She was grieving in an unhealthy way with projecting Birch onto the kits and wanting to take revenge and he was actively encouraging that rather than being an actual father for his daughter and helping her process her grief. Just wanted to highlight that. It definitely makes Oakstar look like an even bigger ass than he was already.
This is one of the few Maps that actually makes the characters justice, especially since Frecklewish was a big wasted occasion.
Come on, she saw her brother die like that, drowning in the river, the Erins could have used it to show on paper representation of PTSD and show her ready to save innocent kits and freezing in place as she can't help but seeing again her brother die and her body stopping like that. It would have made the story honestly better, along with trying better plot reasons for the kits being discovered (since the medicine cat followed Mapleshade in the scene where he bust her after an elder whined that: "The kits can't jump on a stupid rock and we're the Clan known for climbing trees! That clearly means something's wrong!" and tells about the omen of the river only AFTER talking about the elder, just the omen would have been fine) and Mapleshade making them cross the river in the middle of a storm (even if she was forced from, don't know, the sounds of steps chasing her and the fear thet her Clan could hurt her and the kits made her cross instead of waiting or searching for a safer path would have been equally dramatic and still gave her that sense of guilt you get when you go straight into an accident you surely didn't want to cause, but you still jumped in it and now you still have blood on you even if you're not as guilty as someone who wanted to kill, obviously), leaving her vendetta against the medic who told the Clan, the "friend" who couldn't save the kits and the ex that after revealing he broke the Code and turning his back on her in front of the Clan (so showing that he has no problems turing away from others at the first obstacle) and still got to stay in his Clan with no punishment (and all 'cause his mate whined that she trusted him and the Darkstar decided that was enough) and living his life with his mate and his sweet apprentice and was happy until he died.
They wrote really well Mapleshade going crazy and being unable to tell reality from her terrible allucinations after all, making Frecklewish more than: "Oh yeah, I thought RiberClan would save them, sad for the kits" and maybe giving her an ending where she chooses the Dark Forest out of guilt would have gave them both a magnificent plot and a dramatic similarity to make them closer as characters, two cats with blood on her paws, but for different reasons and different views on their place there.

Mapleshade took advantage of her grief and emotionally manipulated her. Frecklewish had every right to be angry at Mapleshade.
Frecklewish's brother died not long before Mapleshade used his death to her advantage.

Hm… ok I know this is a very controversial topic so here we go. I’ve heard that some people say that there are no innocent cats in the story. I do kind of believe this, and here’s why. Obviously, the biggest faults go to MapleShade and Appledusk, I’d almost say it’s pretty equal, because if Appledusk had Not pinned all the blame on MapleShade then I think that the situation would’ve been a lot better, if he had actually owned up, and suggested to have them keep her in the clan permanently, or at least for a little while. As for the medicine cat (whose name I can’t remember because it’s been a little while since I’ve read Mapleshade vengeance it’s light Nightpelt or something) he could have 100% kept his mouth shut, just like say Goosefeather did. Honestly, if you think about it, Bluefur and Mapleshade’s situation could’ve very easily been switched depending on what the medicine cat did at the time, since both medicine cats knew. And finally for Frecklewish. Do I think she could’ve acted better, and treated Mapleshade and her kits with kindness instead of lashing out in her anger? Of course. But I don’t think that her actions were 100% unreasonable. Mapleshade did use Frecklewish’s brother’s name for her own personal benefit, but it was also for the benefit of her kids, to try prevent what did happen from happening. Are all cats in the story completely evil and full of malice and should be blamed? No. But everyone definitely could have acted better, especially Appledusk, because I feel that if he had handled the situation better, most everything could’ve been avoided.
Also, great map. Jack Stauber is definitely one of if not my favorite artists, so I love it when people make animations to his music. Great work all around.
All I gotta say is if Maple had avoided that river, who knows maybe some things might’ve changed. If that was bypassed massive plots in that book might’ve changed.

Appledusk owned up to his mistakes fym 💀 the only thing he blamed her for was the kits deaths which is the truth. Did you even read the book? Ffs
@@catweedcocaine yeah, he died and stop, but while Mapleshade was rightully exiled, he still got away with a slap on the paw 'cause his mate said: "Yeah, he cheated on me, just turned his back on his other mate right in front of us and showed clearly that he has no problem doing that. But I trust hiiim!" and RiverClan instantly forgave him.
He had his life, his apprentice and such and just died, when people talk about him not owing up to his mistake or getting left off the hook people refer to him not actually facing any consequences in his Clan when he should have been punished for breaking the Code and the lies (and if DarkStar really gave any damn about the: "The parent is suffering for the kits, that's already a punishment" he would have gave Mapleshade the time to grieve for them or would have buried them in a neutral land where she could actually visit their graves).
But I don't expect one using abbreviation and emojis to actually being able to read, especially with the classic anger issues's quote that's from toxic fans most of the time.

@@laraendlight9887 Mapleshade was banned literally because she exploited the name of a dead guy and showed absolutely no remorse for it. She didn’t try to make amends during her trial she just straight up told them they should be proud that she lied to them. Appledusk only got off with a “lighter” punishment because having your children die is already a punishment that no one should have to a suffer or go through. Cats are rarely punished for having half clan mates the most they get is the distaste of clanmates and apprentice duties. Mapleshade was exiled twice because she got her kits killed swimming in a FLOODED river. Any cat with common sense would know not to swim in that Darkstar obviously didn’t want a foolish cat who got her own kits killed to server in her clan.
