Butterfly valves are widely used in many industries. The valve in this video was returned by a customer who said the valve was not operating properly.
You can tell the valve was not working right by how much play there was in stem. This is a big indicator something was going on. They tried removing the handle in the field and ended up damaging the stem. The valve is repairable. The cost of this valve is around $500 to $600 USD. It was cheaper for the customer to purchase a new one. The cost to repair and retest would have been more than that.

INTERATIVA VALVES, THE BEST VALVE, MADE IN BRASIL
What does the customer do while waiting on the turn around? Like if this is supplying water to people then is it just capped while they wait for the rebuild to finish?
make more videos, make a video converting SPE seated trunnion ball valve to a DPE seated configuration
Hi, Do you have a video to assembly and disassebly for butterfly valve DN1000 up to DN3200?
Are all butterfly valves without packing?
No. There are different styles of butterfly valves that have different design features. The butterfly valve in the video is a resealant butterfly valve and usually do not have graphite packing.
The butterfly valve with stem packing and firesafe designs will be a high performance style butterfly. These cost more and have more features.
Hope this helps. Thanks for your comment.
After breaking all the tools...probably cheaper to send the valve for proper repair 😁😁
Try using a punch on the roll pin next time
Biasa klw untuk buka ke arah mana y boss
Tidak dia paham bahsa kita ni bro
need proper pin punches !
Thanks for the feedback. This particular pin was really jammed in there. I used an Allen hex tool to try and get this pin out. We normally use a solid metal rod to push out pins but didn’t have it while filming this video. I am not sure if there is a tool out there specifically made for this application? Thanks again for watching and commenting on the video.
@@everythingvalves yes you do get pin punch sets of various sizes, ideal for this. Nice channel
No safty precautions taken during dismantling.
Thank you for the comment and concern. Will take that into consideration.
This was painful to watch. Between the frequent stops to repeat the same thing he said before and not using the right tools for the job. You guys machine your own roll pins? Just go down to the store and pay the .35 to get a new one. Honestly, this should be around $250 max for repair and that is almost all labor, how much are you charging for a new valve?
promosm 🙌
looks like china made butterfly valve
Thanks for the comment. This particular butterfly was made in China. These butterfly valves are used in numerous applications. They are more economical in price as well. Stay tuned more valve videos coming soon.
