Dr Z, can’t say enough about your ability to combine science/medicine with spirituality. Science supplying our answers to the questions we have, spirituality reminding us to let go of the need to answer those questions. The paradox being the more we let go of our egoic need to have all of the answers, the more science shows up to those who are ready for it. You are blessed, we are blessed. So grateful!
Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I have always thrived in solitude, especially in my home where I feel safe and relaxed. I can focus better without the stress of interacting with other Huan beings when it is not my choice to do so.
There is such a massive divide between solitude, which I cherish and rely upon for spiritual sustenance, and loneliness. The latter I feel fairly rarely, but it is a hole, a gap that it acutely felt with great sadness; solitude is a whole for which intrusions are disruptive.
I’d love to see a study in home work environments where people are comfortable and relaxed vs stressed. My theory is that there is deeper thought and structure amongst us who love being at home. There’s also likely some deep personality structure dynamics at play in that dynamic, as there always is…
I am a nurse, and my daughter ponder going into nursing a couple of years ago, and silently I prayed that she would change her mind😑. She is now in her second year of computer engineering.
Good choice. Nursing is like being put into a meat grinder, with a toxic work culture, with toxic co-workers. Constant stress, just so the hospital CEO can make millions from your hard work.
I have kid who struggles with life, always has. People assume his behaviors and just his personality in general is due to bad parenting but its his mental health issues and issues created due to his learning disorders. I tell people, he will get where he needs to be because he is surrounded by a loving family who will go out of their way to support him. I want so much for him but mostly him to be happy.

I watched this video a few days ago and I just wanted to come back and say a huge thank you. You spoke about singing, and working the diaphragm. I've been really low lately and struggling to practise mindfulness and holding myself through it. After watching this I've been making a conscious effort to have less screen time and make time each morning to have a good sing song. The difference already is amazing and I just wanna thank you for all you do ❤❤❤

I totally agree that the stressers in our life have measurable effects on our health! I've been watching my resting heart rate through my fitbit Versa 2 and its amazing to see that when I am very stressed my heart rate goes up a ton. But once the stress passes and the crisis is over, my resting heart rate drops like a rock 😳 It is so important for us to really look inside ourselves to see what our inner dialogue is like. To make sure we are giving ourselves the attention for our inner lives that we do for our physical outer conditions. Our inside voice is the one we hear most often, its important to take control and keep it. 🙏 Thank you Dr. Z. Thank you for your contributions to the medical community and to those of us that study health but are not in the field (not a fan of blood 😅) Have a wonderful holiday season! Starting watching this before I went to work this morning and now finishing it tonight. I really liked the talk about stress and weight loss in the beginning of this. I actually wonder a lot now if the reason why it took me so long to start seeing results at the beginning of my weight loss was because I had too high of stress. I was doing everything I could think of and nothing was working including tracking calories. I really like the description of envy and spelling it envi instead of envy. That part was so interesting. I've experienced a lot of envy myself particularly with family because I am on such a different trajectory in my life compared to pretty much everyone in my family and a lot of that being because of having chronic illnesses so I haven't had the chance to do the things that I've wanted to do in the order I've wanted to do them or those in my family who are younger than me reaching life milestones I thought I'd be at by now. I don't have siblings but I feel this with my younger cousins. It's taken a lot of time for me to work on this and now I really feel like although I may not reach certain milestones at certain times, I'm exactly where I am supposed to be at the exact time I am supposed to be there.

I once journaled out doors in darkness - 3:00 a.m. It was dark and i did not care what my writing would look like. I kept at it until the sun came up. It was powerful! I heard the hummingbirds before i could see them!
Identity... so central to our being. I was used to being physically powerful and smarter than average through the first 48 years. Then endocrine syndrome with cardiac issues, diabetes, strokes, etc. So hard to re-invent a meaningful persona. Off to Chiang Mai next month.
Wow! If I have to use three words to summarize this conversation I'd say "Love, Awakening and Hope" Man! Big kudos to Ron for what's he's doing! This will have profound positive repercussions not only in healthcare but for humanity's well-being and the nature around us! I know it may sound like wishful thinking but huge changes start at the individual level... and then it replicates and multiplies on its own... we just need to work on ourselves, connecting with our deepest nature, and trusting the universe to act upon us, and everything will fall into place... The thing also with kids and why they didn't do well during lock downs is because parents tend to try and problem solve everything for them and fix everything so that the kid is comfortable. But lock downs were something they could not fix and stove kids didn't have mass play dates that their parents fixed for them they couldn't be social and many kids didn't know how to cope alone. This is not just a covid issue is a society issue
The core problem is working at a crappy job, being stuck at that job because your health insurance is tied to that job. Also having barely any vacation time and going crazy because you're always stuck at your crappy job.
I have parrots that make me laugh all the time...and they are quite entertained by my constant singing...so they are my feathered therapists. Their faves are Baby Shark and Elvis' Little Sister.

Envy? It is alien to me. When someone is doing better than I on any subject, I just strive to get better and that is where I spend on my energy, because envy is totally unproductive and it does not get you anywhere. Just know that you can achieve anything you truly want, and go for it😗😗😄😄
Alternate Breathing, if you can't sleep, doing Alternate Breathing every day throughout the day will heal you. It may take some days to build up at first before it works at night, but just keep doing it as much as you possibly can in the daytime and it will work to put you to sleep all through the night, night after night. It is cumulative to where after awhile you can skip some days if you absolutely can't get any practice in, but then you have to go back to doing it. It's on the internet. I learned it 40 years ago from a Yogi from India.
Funny… when I was younger I always thought the Commandment of “Thou shall not covet/ENVY …”. was not that destructive… but oh my … it REALLY IS… the Lord knows what destroys us
here's another helpful one: next time you find yourself in a "wow i can't believe i just did that moment", laugh out loud at yourself. It's the greatest change of potential regret/shame into: lol i'm such an idiot, that could have been a lot worse.
I have never liked corporate wellness such as Kabat-Zinn. Why would it fall on the employee to alleviate insanely stressful working conditions ? This is a systemic problem.
This was good but honestly it made me a bit anxious with how disorganized the conversation was lol it was kind of all over the place. They would bring up a great topic and then get side tracked.
Losing weight when stopping exercise is very normal because a person can drop a lot of water weight. We need to get over the obsession over WEIGHT and focus on waste size which is a far better proxy for fat loss. You can also lose muscle weight which is horrible for health.
I think you need more precise language. Vibration is way too vague and people can interpret or impose any meaning they want to with this kinda of language.
Brain balance therapy. The Zing Method by wynford dore. Legit or hoax? Could it really be a therapy for dementia, adhd, autism, dyslexia, and if so possibly a future therapy for covid long term issues? Seems to make sense, could use insight.
