Hero's Journey Scholarship

Hello NGHTMRE and the Admissions Team at Icon Collective,
Thank you so much for taking the time to review my submission to the Hero's Journey scholarship.
A Call to Adventure
I cheated death again about a year ago, which really forced me to question why I was succeeding in my corporate career when all I'd ever dreamed about was being a music producer. I'll spare you the details... but fulfilling my dream became the motivation for me to keep on keeping on in the hell scape of the year that followed...
VISION QUEST
One of my favourite artists of all time is Amon Tobin. I went to his ISAM live show hoping to hear some of his old school sample based trip hop; but what I experienced changed me for ever. No words or video clips could do this justice... suffice to say it had a profound influence on me... I realised I was not content to just be a listener; I felt a need to explore my own sonic and psychic landscape as he had; and to set it to visuals.
the Magic Flight (hyperspace, ISAM hyperspace)
I didn't know where to begin so I did a project called "Weekly Beats" where I made a piece of music every week for two years and learned a lot. I did a similar thing with a video project. It later dawned on me that a tour might not be prudent until my health is more stable. But what if I could pivot to UA-cam?! What about writing music for sync with adverts, TV and Video Games?
The Boon
As Joseph Campbell said, “Each human being is a unique phenomenon”, as such I think the more we lean into *our individuality*, the more deeply our work can resonate with *our people*. The real secret is that there is no secret. I just need to do good work and share it with people: again and again.
Road of Trials
I think I have the raw materials, and that's why I'm most interested in honing them with your Music Production Course. I need some direction to put everything together into a quality brand, package and viable business strategy.
If truth be told I'm looking for a Gandalf, Dumbledore, Yoda and Master Roshi. I realised that to progress further I need a fellowship, an admission to Hogwarts and a place to be with like minded peers who were training to be the best versions of themselves.
It's for this reason that I ask you to grant me a place in your hallowed halls; that I may take the next step in my Hero's Journey.
