Whether you're new to my channel or been here for 10 years, thanks so much for watching and supporting me :) I wanted to share a bit of the family, friends, and traditions that make up my holidays as they are annual gatherings that ground me, help me reflect, and stir up new ideas. My hometown (and its mountains) is a particularly sentimental place and due to some family decisions, I'm unsure how many more times I'll get to visit. I hope you feel my love for this season, and if you've never seen the Canadian Rockies I hope you make it there someday!
I am relatively new (maybe one year in), but your videos do inspire me to at least tip toe into the world of sewing (via alterations) as I am not up to using patterns or sewing machines. Thank you for sharing holiday time with your subscribers. One of my favorite snacks is veg-filled Gyoza so I can definitely relate to all those dumplings!

About the fabric wrap. I used it for a wedding shower a few weeks back because it’s all I had. Could be wrong but I just took it out of the trash pile and brought it home again. Haha
Hi Wendy I’m also Wendy and also Canadian. I felt so nostalgic when you went to Calgary, I grew up there and that drive out to the mountains in the early morning to go skiing was exactly on point. Nothing like a purple sky morning in sunny Alberta.

I would suggest for the fabric wrap gifts (which I guess we’ll have to wait till the next holiday season lol, or do it for birthdays) you could use scarves for to wrap gifts. That way everyone gets a scarf with their gift so they won’t through it away 🤗. Same with blankets and throws for larger gifts
I CAME RUNNING. 1. One time I tried to bend my orchid GENTLY. AND THE WHOLE THING SNAPPED. 2. Dan and you must come up to our area we have a Himalayan resto that has cool momos and I want to know if it measures up to his standards 3. THAT ARCADE GAME WHAT 4. HAPPY TEN YEAR THIS YEAR WILL ALSO BE MY TENTH YEAR I LOVE U
I actually used the fabric gift wrap tutorial to wrap a friend's birthday present. She'd wrapped my Christmas present in fabric, and now I'm returning it to her. Same thing that my family and I use tins every year for Christmas baked goods presents and just swap them back and forth. Definitely only giving them to people you think will reuse them is important though.

I'm also so in love with the mountain side clips, was there in August '19 and the Chinese food clips?! I drooled. Had such amazing original Chinese dishes back in 2018 when I visited Liaoning. So yes, this video made me very happy :D and yes, its so different from Western Chinese dishes

Hi Wendy! I just wanted to let you know that I was inspired by your fabric wrapping video and used pillow cases! I did it specifically for the gifts where I knew the recipient would be opening the gift in front of me (family and friends gatherings) and then just took the pillow cases home with me for next year! It was great not having piles of paper and ribbons around the living room but instead, a neat stack of folded pillow cases. :)

Have gotten so into sewing and sustainable fashion in the last month that I’m doing a senior capstone project at uni comparing different production methods of various fibers for fabric. I’m thinking of looking at hemp, bamboo, wool, cotton, hides, and maybe polyester. I’m a Sustainable Food and Farming major expanding my horizons (: if you (or anybody reading this!) have resource recommendations for (un)sustainable fiber production, pls shoot them in a reply!
