What a brilliant video. The stig performed admirably. You have certainly kitted him out well and it paid off on this trip. The air suspension proved it's worth here Not many new Defenders will get a work out like that. A great unpaid advert for new Defender showing what it can do. 👍👍
@@simonjefferson3376 100k coming soon for powerful uk and we'll deserved. New channel will build on following with the down to earth enthusiastic approach.👍👍
I am lucky in that i do not need to drive up and down a motorway for work... I did that in my early career and it is draining ! But we are always happiest when we can get the Defender off the tarmac !
Hi 👋 very interesting 🧐 very professionally/music editing side steps is also use as step but extra benefit of protecting the damage to your Defender . Thanks 🙏 🙏
Once again Land Rover shows off its capabilities along a challenging course that didn't in fact cause it to blink. I have no doubt that I could do the same in my Discovery 5 which I believe is the finest vehicle I have ever driven. Well done all of you.
Grate vid you were literally doing the tracks I know and have traveled with mates but on quads ! Iv worked all round them woods as we have a timber contracting company and live nearby, plus i have a new 110 defender 👍
Hi - this was my first trip and it all went to plan.. you can see our other channel "PowerfulUKLtd" where have all the videos of building our project Defender.
great video. Good to see the p300 is doin so well, I ordered something similar, a p300 base spec with the off road goodies as an option. Can't wait to get it ( my dealer basically lost it 3 weeks ago, he does not know where it is.. lost on the road.. :) ) Just one suggestion, it is good practice to air down a bit, not only for traction , it also helps a bit with the comfort level of your passengers, protects the tire from punctures on sharp rocks, and helps preventing the formation of very deep ruts, the bane of many off-road tracks.. So even if you have excellent tires, the vehicle we know is capable, is good practice to air down a bit anyway. Good luck to you Simon and great work with the videos, thank you.
Yes I got a bit excited and should have aired down - especially as i have the compressor. We also should have removed the front winch cover etc as it we got stuck in any water that would be a total pain ! Yet gain we had a fun day out and got lucky !
This is without doubt a very high quality vid not only from the filming and editing point of view but the content location and excellent rapore between you guys.. Land Rover must be over the moon. Brilliant Have a quick look at Larson farms there vids are excellent too
brillient video a joy to watch, just to let you know i have seen a vid on here of a freelander 2 makings it up the same bomb hole with no much ado and didnt bottom out.
Agree 100% with you about paddle shift, should have been standard from day 1, it was on the Evoque and Disco Sport Autos so why not L663 Defender? You want scratchy, then try some of the less frequently driven lanes in the Lake District like I did two weekends ago with 2 other ND 110’s.
Re JLR and your videos…do you think that they do watch all of your films even if rather quietly? I hope do..maybe Mr Skywalker does perhaps?? Keep doing them Simon..the best advert JLR never made. Richard🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
Well who knows... I think the issue is that i am a bit of a maverick and when something makes no sense to me i do call it out.... I think that, at times, may upset Land Rover.
@@simonjefferson3376 That is one of JLR ‘s worst failings..they seem very reluctant to listen to customers and give the impression that they always know best but reliability surveys show that is not the case. My missing rubber bonnet seal was a classic case..completely ignored except for a preform at response from a PR woman yet the Internet had or has many people suffering exactly the fume problem I had. You have so clearly demonstrated problems and they would impress by listening and proactively working with owners rather than brush you aside as you have suffered. I want to buy another JLR car next time but I configure Porsche most of all! I hope they DO watch your films….they are far more relevant than the 1970”s style versions they release..more “aftershave” than inspirational.😀😀😀
Great vid guys. You gave the car a great workout! Now I know it can vary depending on what type of sriving your doing but can I ask what mpg are you getting with the P300 engine?
It’s a bit late but I wish you had had paintwork protection film applied when new..all those side bush scratches would have been less painful! Lots of polishing next week then!! 😀😀😀
@@simonjefferson3376 Many moons ago I had a V8 90 converted to auto due to health reasons. When driving off road I found it useful to drive on the throttle but with brakes slightly applied to control wheel spin. Right foot to go Left for to stop. It takes a bit of practice. Also with steep descents in that auto I would go down hill in reverse gear. Awesome braking effect from the torque converter for short periods but it does hear up the ATF.
The place names are actually Grisiau'r Diafol and Ystrad Flur. It is unfortunate that people, including tourists and non-Welsh visitors, tend to Anglicise very Welsh locations.

Wow that’s fantastic footage
Brilliant video 👍👍👍
Fantastic efforts here, both the confident off roading and the great camera work. Thanks for sharing the adventure 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Excellent video. Great photography, particularly the drone shots..oh and the Stig was magnificent!
For all the nit picking I may do about The Stig she is an absolute beast - and bear in mind this does not even have the locking rear diff !
Excellent and hello too Mrs Powerful too! Lovely to see the whole family having fun out and about.
You feel free to sing some more Jimmy Cliff!
Great to find an activity we can all do together..
Another amazing video, your commentary had me in stiches! 😂 fantastic trip
Looks like you’ve had a great weekend Simon, loved the video mate.
Congratulation on the first comment - hope you enjoy the video - this is the long version - the short version will be on the Powerful UK channel
Looks like you had a cracking day. Last time I did that lane must be 30 years ago. Great footage as always. Cheers Non Stick Nick
Careful Nick or you will be giving your age away !

That a great track you guys did the defender did it well.
Its not on par with the Aussie outback but its a good lane by UK standards !
@@simonjefferson3376 I bet it is
Another great vid 👍 I’m glad you actually use stig for what it’s made for and not just cruising up and down the motorways staying shiny.

Excellent video did the lane in may, lovely lane
Yes it was!
Done the Strata a few times, Wales is so beautiful and there are some great lanes. Great video again 👍
That was my first time but I think I will be back again soon ...

Hi Mr Virdi - glad you enjoyed the video !
Just two words: You Rock!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic lane to do, and the defender made it look like a tarmac road 👍🏻
We were very lucky with the weather !

It was awesome and we slept in the tent overnight and it drove me home in comfort the next day !
Really enjoyed the video, loved the scenery, beautiful. I would cry if my car got scratched.
I dont think there are too many scratches on the stig ! other than the side steps.
@@simonjefferson3376 you are a very lucky bloke Simon.
Bonus drone footage “brilliant “ thought you might have been going to land the drone on the bonnet in that final shot.
We are not that good yet - the bonnet slopes - we need a helipad on the roof !

Great video Simon look like you had fun 👍👍👍👍👍
Best day out for a long time - nice weather too !
Give it heaps Simon; it’s a Defender. Lol. More experience and nothing will stop you. Good filming George and the ladies got lots of exercise. 👍🏻🙏🏽😷🦘
Ah you spotted that we drove off without them......
That looks like so much fun
Thanks - it was kind of fun and slightly scary at the same time !
Great video Simon, The Stig did you proud. Looked like everyone else was travelling N to S 🤣
Well it may be there were more people going S to N but of course we did not meet them !

Martin O'Neill I am hoping to do it in my fl2 this year 😊
Sorry if it's been asked, but do see your 4x4i correctly- you didn't have the rear axel lock option on the STIG, yet it performed wonderfully!?
Excellent adventure, Simon and crew - the best yet! I am confused why you are calling the Stig an L322 though…
