  • In Nuremberg, the property owner Aurelis Real Estate is developing one of the largest construction projects currently underway in Bavaria. On a 100-hectare site south of the city centre, the real estate company is planning a completely new district in close coordination with the city of Nuremberg. It is not supposed to be a district like any other, but a real showcase project: diverse and communicative, close to nature and green, connected and bicycle-friendly. A home worth living in for several thousand people. With housing offers for every living situation, short distances, plenty of space for leisure and recreation and a social infrastructure that leaves nothing to be desired.
The new district is not only going to give families, singles and couples a new home. The Free State of Bavaria has reserved one third of the area as the location for the new Nuremberg University of Technology. A university campus for up to 6,000 students is planned. The future is being built here, in every respect.
In the 34-hectare Module 1 in the north of the gigantic project, Aurelis has begun developing the formerly abandoned area.
The innovative company Reithelshöfer from Roth near Nuremberg is carrying out the earthworks.
The problem became apparent that the compaction specifications were far from being achievable with conventional compaction equipment.
That's why Stehr is particularly proud that patented high-tech machinery from the Upper Hessian think tank is also being used in the construction of the high-tech university.
Approx. 40cm of excavated sandy soil is applied and compacted with just one vibration-free pass.
As usual, Stehr SBV 160/3 plate compactors with a balancing force of 3 x 160kN - mounted on Fendt 939 tractors with integrated Stehr high-pressure water spraying equipment - showed their superiority here.
The hydraulic output of the tractor is precisely adapted to the required plate compactor output using the load-sensing hydraulic system. This means that an enormous amount of energy or fuel can be saved while a correspondingly high reduction of CO2 emissions can be achieved.
Evaluation of plate load tests according to ZTV E-StB resulted in three times better compaction values compared to a single drum roller. At the same time, the area output is three times as high! An easy-to-use compaction control device always shows the optimum compaction level via a display in the driver's field of view.
As visible in the water glass test, there are no vibrations in the immediate vicinity.
Stehr compaction equipment for road construction already works with an ideal design for energy efficiency, which results in less fuel consumption but more power at the same time. This is achieved with the help of the Stehr machines, which dynamically generate the maximum compaction powers on the road construction material by superimposing the excitation frequencies alongside the use of auto-parametric resonance of non-linear systems.
Stehr machines therefore represent an optimum energy balance that no other compaction equipment can match at the moment.
