What's there to investigate? Seems pretty simple from the bodycam footage. The officer, contrary to that race-baiting liar Ben Crump, announced his presence twice and the second time was while the airman was right by the door. Yet he still opened the door for a police officer with a gun in his hand. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Why didn't they also include MALE while they were at it.. Lol so dumb

Clearly the officer was extremely aggresive from the moment he approached the door without knowing all the facts, on top of that he did'nt make the effort of being seen thru the peephole; clearly his initial reaction contributed to the Airman reacting the way he did.

Bodycam video in no way justifies what unfolded here. There is NO justification for what happened here. It's easy to clarify if the police went to the wrong apt or not (although it is irrelevant). The police claiim they went to the apartment that the caller believed she heard the disturbance, simply confirm the account with her.... it's irrelevant b/c the woman made it clear she could not pinpoint exactly what unit the disturbance came from... Prior to aggressively banging at the door, listen at the door to discern if you can hear an argument or confrontaion. While you could clearly see a weapon, you could also clearly see at no point did he raise the weapon or act aggressively.... He was clearly familiar with fire arms b/c was down to his side, which is how you are trained to act with a gun. I observed NOTHING that justifies the officers negligent actions.
What happened to the training of " Drop your weapon" before you shoot?

Murder in cold blood. The deputy was wrong. The Airman posed 0 threat. He was a licensed firearm owner and showed no intention toward the deputy in harming him and he just opened fire like he was at the shooting range. Didnt even give the kid a chance to drop it or put it away or anything. This is fucked up.

She told him to go to the 4th floor not the 3rd. The cop went to the wrong floor its clear on the bodycam she said go to the 4th floor on the elevator it shows he got off on the 3rd floor

@@bobbysyxkiller You can clearly see his left hand was up in a disarming manner and the gun was in his right hand in a neutral position pointed to the floor. Plus it's Florida, no permit required to own a carry a firearm.
Why did he answer the door with a gun? And If he believed he was in danger enough to carry a gun why answer the door at all. Why not just leave the door locked....? Having said that, whole ordeal was way too trigger happy and I cant help but think if it were a teenage girl, or elderly person or a different demographic who unlocked the door the response might have been different... bad situation all sides. A similar incident happened to a white man but it was late in the night police at the wrong house and the man had a family why has that not been shown on the news

After investigating themselves they found no wrong doing and cleared for duty.
You have to understand what a police officer goes through. First, he has a report of a disturbance, aside from vehicle stops, domestic disturbances gets police officers killed the most. In addition he doesn’t know that you’re a great guy behind that door. The door opens and you’re standing there with a gun in your hand. Not a great idea, the officer identified himself, so the airman was more than likely aware it was the police. I was in LE for over 26 years, if that door opened with anyone with a gun my reaction would have been the same, it is a big misconception that the officer has to wait until the gun is pointed at them. The officer was at a much greater disadvantage since he was holstered when the door first opened. There is a lot more to this than meets the eye. The airman just got off the phone with his girlfriend, maybe there were circumstances which lead the airman to suicide by cop or maybe just poor judgment for answering the door with a gun in your hand when there is a cop on the other side. The airman should have been more aware of proper firearms handling. There could be a million reasons. Don’t rush to judge, very sad for his family. But, all l know to this point doesn’t indicate that the police officer did anything improper.

we need to hold the actually training and training methods accountable more so. becuase this cops neglagence is from a lack of ability to deal with stress. he immedietly went in to fight or flight and reacted on it, with no descalation or anything before firing. BUT if the man was not holding a firearm this would have went very differently, this is a training problem.

For people claiming to be trying to end racism, they sure are quick to point out the Airmans' color. While I see this is wrong and the deputy needs to be held accountable, I don't see color as a reason it happened. Although it is an election year, they need to get the masses stoked up.

The Sheriff's Dept investigated and found acorns at the scene. They found the shooting justified.
