To be fair I commend that teacher for achieving her B in maths at 27. Might not seem like much but the fact to even try at 27 and redo that GCSE rather than not caring and moving on which is what most people would do is very impressive.

I had a teacher exactly like mr hennesy and he was my fave. He was the teacher that never gave up on me. He moved away the easter i was in year 11 and he came to my prom just to see me. He aslo came to results day to see if i passed science. I did it for him tbh 🙌

Our maths teacher was an absolute nightmare. Just because I was in the top class, he assumed that I just wasn't trying, but I was genuinely baffled by the subject, and scared! The more I struggled, the worst his attitude became towards me. In the end on parents and teacher's evening, my Dad gave him a telling off in front of everyone. I really hope for the sake of today's kids that he's retired.
Hennessy is def a dedicated teacher. Seems like he should’ve tried a different way of teaching the multiplication tables though. Some students have different ways of learning them for sure. The way the numbers looked on paper helped me when I was learning them and the relation between numbers etc.

No more than 7 people in a set, so clearly bottom. It will be about 20 kids in the school maybe. Most will struggle with learning or simply no support at home. Y1, Y2 is the norm for these things but it's much harder to learn later because it's about memory not skill.
In every school Maths teachers seem to think that their subject is the be all and end all of the education system. They seem to think that if a pupil doesn't get a perfect Maths grade then their entire life is over. I got a D in GCSE, and now I have Masters Degree because, shockingly, not every academic pathway needs Maths. Not to mention those not going down an academic pathway.
