"balancing cool vs usable", feels to me, especially in a large project that you start with very useable, then once it works well and you have a lot feed back on the system, you give it cool factor. Stop pulling a Chris (Hull series for instance, cool factor over simple and useful) And I would love love love some of the add ons to the star map. We've been sooooo starved for the star map that add ons that help you with shopping, etc would just be bliss!
Most gams just go with "what works" even if it's a placeholder and then ship, regardless of if it actually works to scale (see Cyberpunk 2077's launch). I would rather CIG take their time and do it right than rush it like 100% of AAA outings in recent years.

Has rockstar had a crappy UI for the better part of 8 ish years and still hasn't resolved it? Even rockstar will have to draw a line and release at some point but I HIGLY doubt they have something in place that's pretty garbage for almost a decade, the better analogy for SC at this point would be Duke Nukem Forever lol.
@@chomp7927 So for all you know, they could have a completely unusable UI for the last decade but since they don't have open development you don't know -- and instead, you're just riding the hype train because this is what they convinced you to do as opposed to CIG who has showed you every step of their development internally for the last decade, but you're okay with that because a corporation convicning you to be hyped for something that you don't even know is good or not is fine in your book?

The fact they just said SQ42 assets cannot just be plopped into the game itself confirms what i knew back in 2019....Star Citizen as it is now, IS THE CURRENT game stuck in a per-alpha hell hole its NEVER going to come out of...13 years and counting Now for the best part.... My opinion may be misinformed as I have only watched your video and not the entire SCL, but I thought the whole point of Star Citizen was to make the "impossible" possible, which given time they have proven they can, yet adding backdrop shadows/readability to text in UI is not possible? I just find it a little hard to believe. "Cool" is not something that should have priority ever over usability when it comes to UI. I want to read where I'm going without straining my eyes CIG 😭
Dude, I'm so glad you do these. I no longer have the patience or passion to sit through all their stuff.
CIG: It's not just a simple case of adding 'drop shadow'.
Me: No? Okay, but frickin' add it anyway.
I'm pretty sure 100% of my concierge level pledge went to purchasing that editing device Jarod was playing with. Totally worth.

Real time saver and bs filter, thank you for this resumed videos.
Is it weird that I watch these videos to decide if I should watch the SCL?
I don’t think so. It’s why I do them.
These are the best videos, I do the same… I usually just watch these, but sometimes I decide to watch the full video after the excellent summary
I do the same. In this case, I won't be watching the full episode. Nothing to see here. Move along. Move along. Thanks, Noobifier!
They hit the reset button again with an evolving standard. No wonder we've been at crawl for the last 3 years with 42 taking the life raft every time.

I'm surprised they're working on building blocks v2 when there are still significant parts of the UI that are still on flash.
The Ui team are always the least straight with progress and dev. Im convinced none of them do it and its just 5 monkeys with type writers

Thank you🎉
Weeoo!!!

I'm sure this is all good, but the new-new-new building block tech is really going to change things.
Yes the new new makes the old new look like old new

Move out of the expesive offices in california, take that operation to the midwest or SC and use them resources to make a team to develop AI crew. Lul
Thank you so much! I can never sit through those lengthy videos.
