my ojiisan taught me how 3 years ago and it is soo fun. I learned stuff like putting the koma on my hand and have it spin on the string. I was wondering, how do you make the arena? Cuz me and my freinds wanna play
@xDMLance Those are what "beyblades" was originally based upon. Though I wonder more when and by who it was introduced into the Japan culture. I always like to know silly facts like that. :P
Around new years day like from a month before to a month after, we played spinning top for hours everyday. There seems to be many different types of tops and how they play depends on the region. Ours were made of all wood and played on the flat ground. I think the name Beyblades came from "Beigoma" similar to the game played in the video.
is this the original spinning tops that beyblade came from i watched some thing that said that beyblades were a modern version of an old spinning top that you put a string around and pulled the string to spin it (like this video)
Wow! Truly an awesome game. Perhaps the older generations in Japan should gather for a professional tournament and show the youngsters how it's done.^^
Here in the Philippines we have one except its made of wood picture light bulb (wooded not hollow) at the very end is a piece of long metal or just wood.
Oh man. As a kid when I lived in Japan, this was aaall we did. All day. Just battled with these. I remember when I got my first one. Oh man, I miss that thing.
Fond memories. Can see why people would compare beyblades lol my little bro loves the show as much as I used to. But even when he makes me play rarely does it compare to this.
Top is actually chinese but we never put metal on it but we do fight with it. Indonesians tops are spread to Indonesia by the maritime silk route. Depends on what you call a beyblade really.
We call these "trompos" they are still being made in Puerto Rico. Just ask for them in any "artesanal fair" or at the "Bacardi fair" or around christmas time . i still have one its over 20 years old. i still play with it from time to time .
Actualy the original of Beybltades are also popular in Japan (tho originaly chinese) beigoma tops. Originaly made from seashell filled with sand and sealed with wax, later evolved into cast-iron ones. There's still one factory in Japan producing custom-made Beigoma with your symbol (initials, some japanese symbol etc.). ...but hec, i think that the idea of "whose top is spinning longer" is pretty universal, and probably researching it would give more "OMG TOTALY BEYBLADE ANCESTOR" ideas... With my brother we played with gears from old clocks like that long before Beyblade was a thing, for example...
I used to play with these in Seoul back in the 70s. they are great fun especially having battles with 5 or more kids at a time. I would love to find a place that still sells them so I could teach my kids. as I recall they were called pengee. at least that's what I remember.
First off I have destrutor l-drago so I don't need a ripcord lancher its just a flick of the rist and I beat every one in my town I know I siad big bang earlier but he is second to ldrago so what do you say to that huh /;(. I think nothing!
Also I do have a lot of the original tops that are like yours a just think they fail in comperison to the modern version because they are large and take a lot of effort to just get them in plus there are are multiple versions so that would be hard to cary around unless you have a carrying case or bag yes I know beys have a carrying case too but they are smaller plus the pack a punch compared to yours or mine because the metal part is smooth on most of them but that's not the same story for beys
My uncle used to have those when he was a kid.but they were made entirely out of wood so you could add nails, razor blades, anything really to them so they battle better. My mum usd marshmallows, needless to say that did not hold up well against nail He told me that there was this kid that was so good at his that he would be able to make it spin on water for a couple seconds, then it would sink. Well, not really sink more like dig a hole n the water, but it would eventually float to the top again
Awe man. memories. There was this one japanese kid though, used to come around with his. And it had a metal ring going around the top. Used to trash ours. And he battled for tops too. i went through like..four tops. >:\

Beyblade and Battle Strikers are the resalt of this. The battle tops just about changed the world.
Wow! Truly an awesome game. Perhaps the older generations in Japan should gather for a professional tournament and show the youngsters how it's done.^^
I love how old fashioned this is. I would much rather play this then beyblades, just because of how traditional and simple it is.

ooh very nice ^_^ I remember when i used to play with those :P
The wood beyblades originates from India are known as latoos and they use the same technique as Japanese but they have way more stamina and stability.
DAMN, that looks hard!

I like these t
These were popular in Korea as well. I believe they were called "peng-ee". Takes practice to wrap and throw these properly.
I used to play with these in Seoul back in the 70s. they are great fun especially having battles with 5 or more kids at a time. I would love to find a place that still sells them so I could teach my kids. as I recall they were called pengee. at least that's what I remember.
Korean no
and this is why Gingka's village was known as Koma village
This is the Ancient Battles for their Souls that they had, long time ago..

damn that probaly need some skills to throw the top on the ring cause it looks hard
true that would be cool
Neat
Thank you for watching my video. I’m sorry to be so long to respond. Have a great day! :-)
ancestors of beyblades, awesome, i was shocked when i saw the improvised bey stadium.
Unlike modern beyblades, these tops have no spin gear, allowing them to be thrown to spin clockwise or ANTI-clockwise.
Thank you for sharing this information. Very interesting! :-)
Arigatō
You are very welcome. Thank you for watching my video and sharing your thoughts. Have a great day! :-)

so this is where beblades came from ...........still on that string u beyblade like a BOSS
no this is definetly different then beyblades it takes a lot of skill to spin those
wait that is a trumpo we have it in Philippines
My uncle used to have those when he was a kid.but they were made entirely out of wood so you could add nails, razor blades, anything really to them so they battle better. My mum usd marshmallows, needless to say that did not hold up well against nail

@RoboTekno all that has to happen is avoid the first hit and you wait then win but not an attack type it would lose
What??! Where's the blue dragon??
this is the old version of beyblade before they had all these cool stuff my uncle use to play these
Very cool!
Oh, the Grandpa of Beyblades. It's Dragoon and Draciel's grandpas.
it's called bumbaram in India
Awe man. memories. There was this one japanese kid though, used to come around with his. And it had a metal ring going around the top. Used to trash ours. And he battled for tops too. i went through like..four tops. >:\
@ileanamoreno my vote would be on the kenkagoma
