Mr. Jimmy thank you so very much for your friendship with the Powerlifting community! The information that you share freely would cost hundreds if not, thousands of dollars for us to have to pay for! I watch your lives and have even ask questions about the sling bands(a.k.a. slingshot) you were so kind to answer questions! Trying to overcome some injuries, because I was a dummy and tried to lift unequipped and have damage in my left shoulder! But I’ll quit lifting weights when I die! I’ll also go to the grave, screaming, clawing, to remain active! again as a disabled veteran with limited funds. Thank you from the bottom of my heart God bless.

Me too man. I've had arm injuries in both arms, plus a lower back injury which would prevent most from ever doing anything involving that area. Now I cannot make any progress in benching but rather than give it away I will continue pushing until I get past or around it even when I regress. For deadlift I'm currently doing raised Jeffries style which feels fine but my back still gives me a lot of pain in between workouts. Progress has been good however but I may take up to 2 weeks break. I hope to strengthen other parts of the torso in order to support benching. Aging and health are other factors but can be overcome somewhat. If I give up everything I may as well just wait to die and it would be soon.

Have you ever tried doing bench pull downs? For example, you go into the squat rack and set up the bench like you're going to do band overhead training. But instead of training for heavy doubles or singles. The goal is to leave the bar empty and pull it into your chest against the band tension turning the exercise into a back lift. When I train them I notice I hit all the same muscle groups I would use in the bench and teaches how to pull into the bottom of the lift through the shirt.

At corporate gym been using the standing calf machine in place of ssb shrugs. seem to have good carry over with that. I will be incorporating Pendlays more thanks Jim

I love the squat bar apparatus which is available in Australia although very expensive and means buying weights again from scratch to use with the thicker Olympic style ends. Since I don't plan on being here that long it seems not worth it and would have to sell them again. No gyms here use them either. Sad situation for me as it seems a simple addition to a standard bar but I can't do it.

Ever since I watched your bench press secret on elite fts (the "natural" grip / talon grip) I've been spamming the shit out of it ever single press day. That kinda opened up my mind to lifts in the same way the behind the back deadlift did. It looked freaky but man it is AMAZING I wanna see more people doing that. Thank you for sharing all this information with us for free!

Reverse grip literally saved my bench in the past 2-3 months and I credit Jimmy for that. My elbow is back to nearly 100% and I'm competing next weekend. All my warm up sets up to 70% are with reverse grip. I'll eventually work up to my max with talon grip, most likely this year.

I also let my shoulders drag forward in the seated rows, then I roll them back into position as I'm pulling again. Stan Efferding mentioned it in a video years ago and I've been doing it since.
