Diving deep into a second new style called Stroke of Genius in Shaded Biscuit of which you see me struggle hard with...so we go into trouble-shoot mode pretty quickly. Oh my gosh, I just love Portrait Mode! The more I see it the more I want it. It is the absolute most perfect style, and what I was aiming for with my own bio hair, which refused to cooperate. That color is perfect on you, but perhaps a little dark for me. The darkest I'd go is shaded cappuccino but I'm aiming more towards shaded wheat. You rock the style. The second one, well you can definitely get away with it, but it is a little floofy! It reminds me of Dusty Springfield in 1973. Beautiful, but a little much. Thanks for reviewing Portrait Mode. I knew immediately I'd want it but I was waiting for your review.

I have SOG in SB and I love it, but had to thin out the area between the top and ear area so much. It kept growing as I wore it and looked so wiggy after a full day. I do love it and the color application of SB is THE absolute best I’ve ever seen!

Hey Jill, you were right in “what were they going for” in Stroke of Genius! As a cosmetologist the cut on this wig is terrible with no blending at all, but you saved it by your styling up. I’ve ordered 7 different toppers from Patti’s Pearls and will keep a couple. Covid did a number on my hair so I’m excited to get them. Watching your topper videos helped me see all the different styles and I really appreciate the time you take to do this! Thank you so much Jill! 🥰

I love watching wig reviews, but this was the first time I’ve watched what seemed like a truly genuine review!
Your reaction to stroke of genius made me laugh a few times! You look beautiful in it, of course. I watched another review of stroke of genius and thought the same things about the bizarre layering. I found it strange that the reviewer didn’t call out the strange layering and extreme permatease. It’s so close to being a beautiful wig. The long, thin bottom layer reminds me a bit of a mullet! Anyway, thanks again for your review and your candor!! ❤

Jill appreciate your “as it is” delivery reviews. I’ve seen this wig in other colors and it didn’t seem soooo front bangs pouffy. I like the layers but for me I’d probably trim up length a few inches. i
Hi Jill, the Stoke of genius wig is similar to Raquel Welch human hair wig, Knockout. The only way I could make it work is to use a hot air brush on it. It was a struggle at first but sometimes I just like embracing the 70's look.

You transform every wig into a wonderful frame of your beautiful face. I wish I had your experience and confidence. I still struggle with feeling absolutely comfortable wearing wigs and thinking about whether or not they look wiggy to others. I know, it's a mind thing. You make everything look so easy. I am not sure how I missed responding to your comment?...I always read them, but sometimes don't have time right then to respond. I wanted to let you know how kind your comment is, and how sweet you are to post it. ❤ It's OK to feel insecure ...especially in the beginning. I have been wearing wigs since 2017 and I have plenty of days where I feel the same. I just keep doing the little things to help the realism (at least to my eyes) and head out the door owning it. Some days I have to fake it until I make it, and other days I could care less even if it may look at little wiggy! I wear wigs....and sometimes that happens! Hugs to you!

Love the Portrait Mode, not the Stroke of Genius so much! It’s def Country-Music-Singer wig 😮. I’m wishing that RW would lighten up the rooting in their SS Biscuit, it’s now too dark for a lot of us, and the very dark root is not on trend any more. But the blonde is such a pretty colour.

Jill, no matter what wig you wear, you always look beautiful, and I love your honesty. To me, Stroke of Genius looks like a Dolly Parton wig from way back or when Raquel Welch was in the movie, One Million Years BC. LOL! Well, almost similar to her style in that movie. I kind of like big hair to be honest. But it seems the stitching was stopped right where the shorter hair ends, and was continued after the coffee break. It would be stunning up. The bottom portion could be cut and it would be adorable just where the shorter hair is. The first wig, Portrait, in that SS Cafe Latte, is beautiful. Very unusual, soft color. Thanks so much for sharing these wigs with us.

I watched a review in the color hazelnut. Seems like the wig looks more realistic there and less puffed up. Less drastic layers.

Hey, Jill I'm a new subscriber to your Channel. I love wearing wigs. I tend to stick with the same style but change off on the colors that will look good on me. I like to wear different styles but don't feel Confident enough to do so. People that I know are very Judgemental can be harsh about it. I find them to be ignorant. I don't want to deal with their ignorant comment if I should be bold enough to wear a different style then usual. I don't know is anyone else experiences this but I thought I bring it up. How would I over come the fear of Judgement.? So I can enjoy what I would like to Experience the Different styles. Love your Channel. Thanks.😌👍
Hi Jill, you do such a great job and I get sorely tempted to try a wig or two, but I admit I'm nervous about it. I'm petite (5'1), small-boned, and have a small head. My own hair has always been pretty fine, and now, thinner since passing 60, but I have a fairly youthful style; just have to be careful with jewelry and such that it's not too much, or it ends up wearing me. Any suggestions for a brand/style that will fit well and not overwhelm me? I'll continue to review your past videos for more suggestions. Thank you!
Hi Jill! Portrait Mode is beautiful! I recently purchased my 6th Unfiltered, and oh my, I don’t know if it was box hair but it was nothing like I had ever experienced on a RW piece. It was so incredibly poofy on both sides compared to the others. The permatease was so bizarre based on past experience. Ugh. Of course, despite the issues with Stroke of Genius, you look beautiful as always. ❤️

I have been considering Portrait Mode and now I think I might try that amazing (new?? - I don't remember it before, as you suggested) Cafe Latte. It is almost exactly like Renau's Cameron, which is a superb piece. Also, a few years ago, remember Raquel Welch's Dare to Be? A rooted pink blend. I had wondered why she didn't offer that style in natural colors and now she has. I am not a fan of Stroke of Genius -- far too much volume for me. You made it work well. Thanks for doing this Jill. Hi Kim! I am not sure...I have never seen salted caramel in person. Have always wanted to try that color though! Shaded biscuit is MUCH lighter, and much cooler.

Jill, how do you get your skin to glow like it does? Do you use any special facial cream or process that you contribute this to? What foundation do you use? I have great skin at 70 years of age, but want to have it glow. Please share with us!

You are SO right Debra....it does have a lot of flyaways! I use a variety of different sprays, and it helps some, but not enough for the troublesome ones. Perhaps trying a spray gel (spray in hadns first then apply) or even the Jon Renau Peace Out Cream (very lightly ) will help better on this one?
Thank you for this review. I am not a cosmetologist and I just purchased Stroke of Genius…been kinda freaking out a little. I have it in SS 4 10. Until I saw your reaction, I thought I might have been scammed. I love the color and don’t really mind the strange layering. My unit doesn’t appear to be cut as “abruptly” if you will…My problem is with the lace front. I feel like it looks like a doll head right at the front. I also can barely see the monofilament as it progresses to the back. Question: can anything be done to correct this? This is only my second wig. I bought Spotlight in Shaded Biscuit. It is fabulous-especially the lace front. I have never worn either wig yet. I haven’t worked up the nerve. Sorry to go on and on…just didn’t expect anything like this from the Raquel Welch line. She is know for her fabulous lace fronts…!!!.
I love the Portrait wig and the darker coloring is gorgeous on you. I'm wondering if the longer wig has a manufacturing defect ~ it was really a shock when you grabbed the top and had all that extra material that wasn't lying against your head. Yikes! You will have a lot of fun playting with that wig, coming up with all kinds of styles! 😄 I'm curious how your little dog is doing. Is he OK with being outside now?

I am with you, this wig is strange, it's cute, the shade is beautiful of course but looks like 2 wigs, one shorter one that was put on top of a longer one, I love that shade but I find that RW always does very dense wigs for me, lots of permtease and since I am short with a small face and head I would be drowned by most of her wigs, I have Voltage and I had to thin her out a lot, I really want another RW wig in this shade but I dont know what style she has with less permatease and less density, after your work this up do looks really nice...saved wig, lol

That is a great question!! I need to get them out and look at that! Just off the top I would say the Cafe Latte is a bit warmer (like base colors).... it's truly gorgeous.
