Yeah Pontiac Grand Prix is a underrated of all of the G Bodys. I own a 1986 Pontiac Grand Prix LE since 2004 now I'm doing a 4.8 LS swap with 4l60e transmission.
I have a 86 I’m restoring right now was sitting for 11/12 yrs thought the motor was bad… mechanic got a new battery it started right up so I’m about bring it back out w fresh paint etc
I have a 83 Grand Prix with T-tops and honeycombs. 4.3 V6 I was going to drive it to the Gbody show last year. But it was pouring and it’s a 3 hour drive for me to get there. Definitely a fan of the Grand Prix
It rains hard at the show for a good 2 hours but that was before it actually started. Ended up having nearly 200 cars. Hope to see you at it this year!
Wow, that would have been such a nice car when it was new. I remember being a kid in School, and my dad taking me to the Pontiac dealer. He really wanted a new car with T-Tops, and made the salesman bring 3 new cars into the service department, and run a hose over the T-Tops. All three cars leaked water. He wound up buying a Buick with a sunroof......Dang!
It's a shame the condition of the car, but I guess it was worth more in parts. Nice to see that it fired up and moved. Glad to hear that the motor and transmission are going into an '80 Monte. I had an '80 Monte that was extremely rotted out. I now have an '85 Monte. I love those '80's G body cars. There wasn't much horsepower but there was something about them.
Brian, nice job on getting the old girl to run again, and it does sound really healthy. Too bad the GP was too rusty to save, but at least you are saving the engine.
Sad to see that one in such bad condition but glad that its drivetrain will live on,I had an '87 in that same two tone pattern except it was dark red,had the 305 and automatic overdrive transmission, had a lot of fun driving it around.
I have been watching your channel for years Brian. I even follow you on Instagram. Your videos have helped me a lot with my 1980 turbocharged Monte Carlo.
So many memories I had an 86 Le no t-tops though. Last I seen it was in Florida about 7 yrs ago. Nice work on getting it going again. Frank is also looking for motors to play with during the winter. Think this video was made before you knew though. Keep up the excellent work. Peace Brian.
I need the big screws that holds the front fenders on at the bottom near the door jam.and the small screws that go around the top of the heater box. and the windshield wiper assembly mounting screws lost a few in tge back yard

Yep we got good old emissions here. If you own the car factory and drive it less than 5,000 miles a year keep it in your name you can Hot rod the hell out of it. But once you sell that car to somebody else it has to go back to factory state and the process starts over again. It was my best friend's car he passed away from diabetes. Last car we built together. Hey Brian I have a 1985 Chevy landau coupe and it needs a core support and front clip. My question is which year caprice’s can I use that would fit it and would a caprice sedan fit the same?
I was going to say to restore the car.. the car with all it's options if it's a le,lj or a le lj with t-tops makes it less than 2200 remaining surviving cars,I spent the better half of 14yrs looking to replace my Le. it fell into my lap via a coworker that had a family member pass away from covid and said it was mine if u hauled it and a 66 vette back from Mississippi to nw ohio the car only needs a right fender do to a semi retread coming apart on i75.
I agree to restore them by all means possible but this car didn't have a title and very extensive rot in structural areas. It was better served as parts to save others that are in less need of repair.
