Thanks for the video, I have sailed past this tower so many times and often wondered what it was like on there, answered a lot of my questions, keep up the good work, stay safe.
Such an amazing place, I remember fishing off there with my brother in the 80's...Shame it's been vandalised over the year's. Great video, thanks'for doing it.
An incredible building having parts built from different eras , nice to see it is still in great condition ,and also having good views ,with aiding to fire the guns at the time . Great video Em and Stu . Rob.
I've seen a few videos of this fascinating piece of history. Yours is by far the best in that you took us through the history in a methodical manner but still kept it interesting too. I think I will watch it again tomorrow.
Still catching up with your videos and this did not disaappoint. Absolutely stunning location very dramatic,as you may know some Martello Towers have been converted on the Suffolk coastline.👍
We don't often get the chance to go inside Martello Towers sadly considering how many there is, like you say many are now converted and often holiday homes, quite tempted to rent one out for a weekend just to take a look but they're not cheap! Maybe one day our channel will be successful enough for us to be able to afford to! 😄 Grain Tower was certainly a special experience that we'll never forget 😊👍
We'd have liked to have stayed the night but after hearing from a local lady about the large number of imagrants that get dropped off there in boats at night to then make their way over to the mainland kind of puts us off abit.. Happy New year to you also 😊
@@ExploringWithEmAndStu Wow I'm glad I only new about this now, it would of spoilt my stay thinking about it. I might mention about this on my live stream at 9pm tonight to some people who stayed over with me. Your very welcome to come on my stream yard panel and mention your channel and what its about and even chat about the fort too 😁
I cant wait to go back to this place!! Its in my top 5 explores... the views are so nice from on top of the tower !! I remember sitting in the edge of that place for about 30 mins just looking off to sea relaxing :) Great information also .. most informative video ive seen on the place
Thanks Ben, we filmed this a while ago now and now look back and wish we'd done it abit differently and loosing a load of the footage didn't help lol, I'm sure we'll return again one day. As soon as lockdown is out of the way Kent is the first place we plan on returning to as there's still loads we want to see. Thanks for your kind comment and glad u like it 😊👍
Thanks Rob, unfortunately a few of our footage files became corrupt so couldn't be used so we had to be fairly imaginative with the editing.. glad we still managed to put together a half decent video from it though. Thanks for watching as always, hope your keeping well too 😊👍
I never realised it was part Martello Tower, thats a good piece of detail. Across the other side that would be Garrison Point Fort. Cliffe Fort isn't far from there.
Yes it was originally built as a martello tower, which can be hard to tell underneath all the later add-ons. This part of the medway is surrounded by forts built in the mid 19th century, the only other ones we've only been to so far is Shornemead near Gravesend and the fort on the mainland at Grain which we released last week but hope to get to Cliffe fort at some point this year, unfortunately Garrison Point Fort is still being used by a builders company i believe so may be some time before we get the opportunity to visit there.. Thanks for watching 😊
Thank you for filming this. You're a lovely couple.
Thanks for your kind comment.. We're glad you enjoyed watching 👍😊

Great to see you Guys again , And yes there was some interesting Graffiti . seemed someone was fond of Randy Redcap , he was everywhere.
Yes its a real shame about all the messy graffiti, I can never understand it myself.. Hope your keeping well 🙂
