Hey Dean thanks soo much for your content. I have the same horn. I'm trying however to make up my mind which Theo wanne mouthpiece hard rubber to purchase. Either the Gaia or the Durga. I know you're playing a Gaia in this video. I was wondering what was your feelings about the Durga though?

I like the look of the PM System 76 2nd Edition tenor. The key work was similar to intermediate Yamaha tenor I had and the large bell was eye catching. I am weighing the option of the lacquer to get it in(when I get the funds to get one). It’s between the dark and gold lacquers. Perhaps, for a little extra, P. Mauriat can provide a different lacquer for individual tastes. I guess I will have to ask them.

Been playing my 220.000 Mk VI tenor since I bought new it in high school back in ‘75. Just put an order in with my local shop for a System 76 series 2. My guy offers a local pro and educator discount with a final price significantly less than anything online. Looking forward to playing it.

Thanks for video, bought this horn recently and all of a sudden it’s become harder to play with the same mouthpiece setup from my student horn which is Vandoren Java T75. So wanting to move to Gaia, not sure if should get 6* or 7*. Java T75 is a 7* but there could be other factors of the mouthpiece making it difficult to blow rather requiring more effort, what are your thoughts? I play a Durga 8 sometimes and that seems to work really well with this horn too.

I think Sax people get too caught up in the aura of the Selmer-Paris MK6...to the point where you walk into the shop already decided. Heart set on owning the coveted MK6. Not really hearing the sax perhaps. If you do play it you judgement is biased. Instead of walking in and doing a blind play test. Not being able to see which sax is which. Not being able to see the logo's.
Sound is so subjective. Some might even like Japanese made horns. I find them...like their piano's...overly bright sounding. My only gripe with P. Mauriat is that they are made in Taiwan (which isn't a part of China but being next door...). Perhaps if P. Mauriat instead made their horns stateside...or in Paris as well...since Paris IS known for making the coveted Selmers, Conn's...
You didn't look at any of the American brands?

So are we just automatically assuming that something made in Paris is of more value than something made in Taiwan? This is what's wrong with the world as a whole. You're basically saying people in Taiwan are inferior to them smelly ass people who don't know how to take proper baths and throw trash everywhere in France. I ain't saying you ain't right but bruh it definitely seem a lil racist dawg 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
