She had to be absolutely sure before she ended the life of her only sister’s child (who she originally believed was her own). It was VALENTIN’S betrayal, and her inadvertently shooting a child (whom she also loved) that shook her confidence in herself and what she has always believed. Carly was never going to respond to appeals to her civic duty, or to be intimadated or deterred by coming up against "authority," Anna's or anyone else's, and is understandably predisposed to mistrust said authority, given her long association with Sonny and Jason! She was never going to be shamed or embarrassed at being called out for eavesdropping, and all Anna accomplished by berating and trying to insult Carly, was to further convince the latter that she must be on to something big! Talk about waving a proverbial red cape in front of a proverbial bull!

Because she’s the niece of Luke Spencer. Carly has become something of the Luke of the show, the acerbic agitator who always seems to find trouble at every turn. Carly is a worthy successor to Luke and Bobbie’s legacy IMO.

This was a repeat- almost down to Anna’s outfit of Anna chewing out Lucy over Victor Cassadine. Same storyline except one thing- Carly didn’t have Marty- Carly doesn’t have Drew, Sonny, nor even Jason. Why regress her? I don’t get it. “You’re smarter than this.” “I never pegged you to be dumb” Me neither. Not only is this not entertaining- but insulting. Carly paid her dues. And she grew past her “plaaaans” So none of this makes sense. Meanwhile Mo gets a new love interest. Carly gets trouble. Over it.
I think that this is another way of showing Carly’ growth. I hope that Carly won’t try to work Brennan for information, like Jason said. I hope she’ll lay into him and leave.

Not even Sasha? Or Cody? Or Alexis? Not working for me. Had Carly gone- you’d have tension for stories to grow. Instead Jason and his women. No they deliberately killed it by the order of someone’s contract. The only way Drew can redeem himself is for the tarot card to pop up - and Valentine is messing with his mind. Ever since Jason has returned the writers have been writing SJB’s Carly’s situations and demonstrating how Jarly is behaving differently this time. A perfect example would be what happened with Carly overhearing Jason and Jagger’s conversation. 90s Jason would have gone to talk to Carly alone an 90s Carly would have immediately made and plan. This time, Jason sent Anna to talk to Carly and Carly went to gather more information. With the MC, SJB’s Carly had difficulty accepting wins and couldn’t enjoy them, almost like she didn’t believe they could happen. 90s Jason would have had to explain that she had gotten a win and convince that she could take it. This time, Jason signed the papers and Carly hesitated, but she took the win. I think that when Carly finds out that Jason has kept an important secret from her, it’s going to, once again, show us how 2024 Jarly is different from 1999 Jarly. Second, Carly’s relationships. I believe that Carly and Jagger’s chem test was the “non-mugging” and corresponding hotel stay. After what Carly said to Anna about Jagger, it looks like the writers will try him with Lois, instead. Carly and Brennan haven’t been in an extended alone situation, for a couple of days, yet. That’s why I’m thinking that Carly and Brennan may have a summer “JaBritt on the run/hostage situation” as their chem test. As for Drew, it’s like Nina said, “poor Drew, forever runner-up in the twin department.” He’s LITERALLY a replacement for Jason, BM’s Jason turning out to really be Drew proved that. With Jason back, there is really no need for Drew. Plus, CM is supposed to be leaving soon. I think that they dropped the tarot card storyline, but it could somehow be part of CM’s exit. Who knows. Third, BLQ’s wedding. With that tease of Anna’s comment, I thought Sason was going to cause trouble, but Anna was just being sarcastic. I would have liked the idea of Jarly walking in together and the resulting Carsason drama, but it makes sense for Carly to not be invited and for Carly to run the hotel, with Olivia is taking care of the reception. It allows her to be at the hotel to quietly handle Sonny beating up Dex. It also makes sense that Ava wasn’t coming, due to her murdering Connie (which they already explained) and I don’t think that her showing up would win points with Sonny-which is apparently Ava’s goal right now. I couldn’t care less about Sasha and Cody, but let’s face it, they are like Reginald and Leticia (the Qs butler and baby Michael’s nanny, respectively). If they are in scenes with front burner and legacy characters, they take a backseat with no real dialogue. So, the only time to develop their characters is if they are away from everyone else. It also makes sense that Alexius didn’t go to the wedding. She’s not close to BLQ or Chase and even if she had been, Alexius would have chosen getting her law license over attending a wedding in a heartbeat. Plus, why would she put herself in proximity to an open bar for either BLQ or Chase? Lastly, Jason’s return. In 2017, Jason returned having to face how everyone else had changed and what that means for him returning to his life. People that were alive had died and vis versa. Also, people had formed bonds and were behaving differently than he expected. Like Carsam being friends, Liz “not knowing Jason,” and a reformed Franco. In 2024, everyone else is having to face how Jason has changed and what that means for their lives. Instead of self-sacrificing superhero Jason, they now have “Jason Bourne” and more questions than answers. A lot of Jason’s interactions with family and friends are directly demonstrating how he is different from when he disappeared in 2021. He even told Liz and her boys that he is different. Yes, having a big secret from Carly is not new; however, he lied directly to Carson’s faces when he was asked and then still didn’t share the truth when Sason were alone(previous Jason would have told Sonny everything, once he was away from Carly and Ava). To me, a lot of what the writers are doing makes sense, even though it does seem to be dragging on, but with PM out as head writer, who knows where we will go from here. Take it easy.
