  • This is a 1 year review of the Cut-50 50amp plasma cutter by coral. These cut 50's are pretty much the same so you can look at this review form multiple variations of cut 50 plasma cutters. This is a non-pilot arc cutter for around $200 making it a great starter plasma cutter.

    I bought the $199.00 off amazon 2 1/2 years ago for my welding shop (and that same cart)
    At 1st i just used it a little here and there,
    But now I find that it is getting used a lot. I still have only 1 problem, which you did mention,
    0 instruction booklet, I had to trial and error the 1st month, that cost me a lot of consumables.
    It is 120/240 and I agree it works much better on 240.
    I did not get the 120 pigtail with it, but as luck would have it, my Lincoln 210 120/240
    uses the exact same plugs. But as for the performance, I will say this machine works very good.
    Great video.

    Awesome update. Just bought one to do larger (or rather longer) cuts that don't fit in my metal cutting chop saw. The newer versions have the pressure gauge in the front panel instead of on the air dryer, and the connection for the gauge is poking out the back... after a little head scratching I figured that out since the "instructions" weren't updated for this change. Now to find the air horse" 🤣 yes, the instructions are still in bad English.

      Mine's still kicking and working good. Thanks for watching. Pressure gauge in front would be beneficial

    Good evening awesome video, ok I just got my plasma cutter the same kind you have but I tried it out cuts good but in side my torch where the bigger ceramic screws on to my torch melted so where did I go wrong

    • @daleofalltrades
      @daleofalltrades  2 роки тому +3

      Thanks for watching. Sounds like it maybe wasn't properly insulated with the ceramic swirl spacer.... Just a guess. I'm not entirely sure what would have caused it to melt. I think you can get replacement guns fairly cheap. It should never get hot enough to melt anywhere there. In short I'm not sure what could have went wrong without being there to witness it.

    The thing about electricians is they charged my best friend 1,200$ to put in a 50 amp 220 volt breaker with receptacle with the cord NOT cheap Which is why many people do it by themselves because no one wants to pay that much for a legit 7 min job 4 mins if your a ace at your job and you have good work experience This plasma torch looks extremely cheap but HEY it gets the job done which is what we all need

    • @daleofalltrades
      @daleofalltrades  Рік тому +1

      I hear you they are expensive, I personally put my 220 in myself to avoid that as well. All the cut 50 cutters are on the cheap side. Mines still running strong though! Thanks for watching

    ok...this is the fifth video ive watched that doesnt actually show an entire setup. I'm kinda getting the idea that there is an air compressor required to be hooked up....but no one actually cares enough for those that are coming in out of curiosity...what all the requirements and hidden costs there are to getting started on even something this small. Its very frustrating.

    does it still work? got one similar to yours this summer 2 times use about 6 or 7 cuts and thats all she wrote, powers up no spark no fire gauge flashes 000 and also no tech support no address no phone# thats the bad thing about these types of things but it did work good while it worked . hope you get more use out of yours.

      Mine is still working great. I have heard horror stories though. Someone I know got a bad one and amazon honored the warranty for them. For the price it's a gamble

      @daleofalltrades  Рік тому

      @@jessihawkins9116 I don't know, I've never had a need to run it on a generator! Not only do you need a generator strong enough to run the plasma cutter you also need it to run the air compressor when it clicks on. There's too many variables for me to simply state what generator would work. The size air compressor matters. You would need to figure out what the max amount of amp draw each item is and get a generator to meet there needs. You would need something big. Big enough to run multiple appliances in a house when the power is out.

      @@daleofalltrades I do not need to plug my air compressor into the generator. It is gas driven
      I was just asking about the plasma cutter. Never mind though. I did the calculations if anyone else is curious.
      45amp at 120v = 4,950 watts
      40amp at 220v = 8,800 watt
