I was stationed at Tyndall AFB from 1981 thru 1984. I was a helicopter flight engineer assigned to DET 5 39th ARRW (Jolly Green CH-3e). We use to retrieve these and the BQM 34F (I believe) either mid-air, by land or by sea. Loved those days.
There are two good books out there on the drones. I think they're just entitled as fireflies. Maybe rhymes in the name. I've got the books here someplace but I've got so much stuff I can't remember where it's at. Lots of good pictures. There was one from Vietnam. It was called tomcat and don't remember how many missions it flew before not returning
Mine didn't come with a carriage so I am just going to mock up a parachute descending from my ceiling. The kit came with two so the other will be displayed with a aircraft stand. And yes, please make an assembly video. Thanks.
Could you put one of them small magnets you used on the tanks just glue one inside the model and then use small wires and make them look like chains? I have watched you do awesome things like that for a while and I beleive you could pull it off.
My dad worked for Ryan over 20 years. I did 14 and change. Love seeing these things wrapped up and shipped off as well as the airframe for the Apache helicopter. Those were good days until Boeing bought McDonald Douglas and took the Apache away from us. bye bye job
I hate how basically 90% of the aerospace industry falls under three roofs now.
Its impossible to get these model kits in my country.
You can't order them from the internet?
@@johnorlitta I am trying to support the brick and mortar/mom-and-pop store in my country and my country postal service is very bad they sometime made your parcel look like it have been through a meat grinder.
I see. So your local hobby shop isn't interested in ordering what thier customer wants to purchase?
Hi. I am working on 1/48 airplane models. I want to buy a magazine with high quality photographs, including cockpit details, so that I can make the models true to the originals. Can you recommend me a magazine that can provide detailed photos? Thank you in advance for your interest. I wish you beautiful and happy days.
Combat Airpower is a good one. I used to buy it even when I was active duty Air Force. Not only do they have great pictures, but surprisingly good intel on aircraft capabilities and operations.
