SOUND SYSTEM GONNA BRING ME BACK UP! Kickass cover dude, your pick technique is so fluid, smooth, yet packs a punch (it always sounds consistent). I wish I had your picking skills >.
One thing that I can depend on 💪 thank you my dude! I've seen some of your recent picked covers and your technique is great! You're a crazy talented bass player 😩
Ciaran Ward Thank you man for supporting me!! You’re one of my day ones and I can count on you for awesome covers! I’m glad you’ve been doing better and that you’re back on UA-cam!!! Missed you brother and keep up the good fight 🤘🤘
That tone is to die for! Have you ever considered covering Unconditional Love by Against Me!? It has a pretty cool bassline but I can't for the life of me figure out how Fat Mike plays it (he joined in and played on 2 tracks for the recording session).
Thank you! Yeah I'll check it out, not familiar with that track but I dig Against Me! so I'll probably like it. Loving your profile pic by the way! Kira's one of my favourite bass players :)
I swapped the neck out for a Fender one, replaced the stock pickups with Seymour Duncans, pretty much all the electronics (knobs, input etc.) have been replaced, changed the pickguard to a black one and I ripped the tone knob out so this bass just has a volume control for each pickup, no tone. This is how the bass looked stock, just to give you an idea of how much it's changed haha: c1.staticflickr.com/1/691/31735461064_aef9ef3356.jpg
How did you learn this? By ear or did you find tabs? I've found tabs on another video but I think they're not fully correct, it looks like you're playing it a little bit different than the other vid
It's a combination of things really. Seymour Duncan SPB-3 pickups, bright roundwound strings, my Zoom B2 pedal and then just a little bit of post-EQ. This type of tone is pretty easy to achieve to be honest :)
Damn! Your right hand was picking at the speed of light at the beginning lol.
He looks fast cuz he use down only picking
Finally, a bass tone that actually has BASS. Clear yet fat, this is the tone I strive for. Excellent video good sir.
