No, it's definitely not. Rehab through putting stress on the injured area is proven to be the quickest and most effective recovery method, NOT stretching. While you can certainly stretch to comfort AFTER workouts, you want to focus on exercising your injured knee through normal ranges of motion. You start by recovering mobility. This is not stretching, it is simply moving the joint, muscle, tendon, etc. through normal ranges of motion to get blood flowing through to the area. Once you have obtained pain free movement (which can honestly take weeks depending on the surgery), you can then start adding resistance, such as isometric exercises. This is a great way to reintroduce stress, without risking reinjury. After a week or more of isometrics (while continuing your mobility movements), you should be ready for isotonic exercises. These are your normal exercises such as squats and leg raises. If you begin to have pain after any of these steps, move back to the previous one. Again, stretching should only be done AFTER a workout. Stretching alone will never rehabilitate an injury.

I work in steel toe shoes and there is NOTHING more decompressing and immensely satisfying than "nerve flossing" in bare feet on breaks and after work.. i figured out that stretch for myself and didnt know it had a name, or if i was "over stretching" (which a personal trainer once criticized me for doing) so i officially LOVE your channel. No, it's definitely not. Rehab through putting stress on the injured area is proven to be the quickest and most effective recovery method, NOT stretching. While you can certainly stretch to comfort AFTER workouts, you want to focus on exercising your injured knee through normal ranges of motion.
You start by recovering mobility. This is not stretching, it is simply moving the joint, muscle, tendon, etc. through normal ranges of motion to get blood flowing through to the area. Once you have obtained pain free movement (which can honestly take weeks depending on the surgery), you can then start adding resistance, such as isometric exercises. This is a great way to reintroduce stress, without risking reinjury.
After a week or more of isometrics (while continuing your mobility movements), you should be ready for isotonic exercises. These are your normal exercises such as squats and leg raises.
If you begin to have pain after any of these steps, move back to the previous one.
Again, stretching should only be done AFTER a workout. Stretching alone will never rehabilitate an injury.
