So much time goes into fleshing out character models and environments that it's not realistic to release a game without bugs or a glitches without a huge budget and ridiculous timeline. To be honest, the future of games will likely be what no man's sky did for smaller developers Or what Rockstar did with the most recent gta. No new gta game for 6 years +to work on the next installments with small, consistent updates to the current game or an unfinished game with good bones and big, occasional updates.

It should be. Rushing things ends up almost all the time with this kind of failure. If they were not gone for all platforms, new and old from the start, i suppose it could have a little chance to not be so bad. But they wanted all platforms old and new and rushed to try to make the compatibility instead of quality. It's a shame for a such a long time hard work. But i feel you and i wait for that moment. I might buy it at that time too.

Story and world have the potential to be used to for some amazing post story DLC too, in the mould of Blood and Wine. The list of games which launch really badly and become or are considered great (sometimes even when they never get fixed) is huge. Games are so complex these days that there will be bugs on launch, buying a game on release is accepting that you’re buying an early access product whether its classified as such or not.
Days Gone is also another great example. The game was riddled with bugs when it first launched and mocked online. Now, after it's been patched up a bit, it's one of the best open world experiences on the PS4.
I personally disagree. It's nothing like what it was meant to be. There's barely anything interesting to do. The only cool aspect they had was the hords which also became a bore pretty quick
6 months is too short tbh. Their first priority is making the game stable and properly playable on old consoles then, fix all the bugs, glitches and crashes on all systems. They also promised to give out free dlcs in early 2021 and there's also the next-gen upgrade for consoles to come later this year. Police AI, Physics, NPCs are all things CDPR will get to work on after they've fixed all the above mentioned things since even in the apology video they only mentioned about fixing the bugs and glitches and not core issues like police AI, npcs or physics so I'm very sceptical about any game overhaul changes coming this year at all tbh... Let's hope for the best though🤞
Final Fantasy 14 's redemption success story is so influential that the new FF16 project is given to YoshiP and the FF14 team. It's amazing how much a game can change for the better with good leadership. I've started playing FF14 2 years ago and still playing till this day.

battlefront 2 is genuinely the definition of a comeback story, because now the game is perhaps my favorite competitive game out there and the best multiplayer star wars game in a while. Its genuinely a blast to play and doesn't have the micros or shitty progression system to bog down the solid star wars gameplay. I really hope people who still dismiss it due to its condition at launch give it another chance because it honestly deserves it. Here's hoping if they do a battlefront 3 they continue with the lessons they've learned, and maybe finally give us galactic conquest like we've been begging them to.

My only problem with bf2 is there isn’t any sort of competitive ranking system that I know of (at least there wasn’t the last time I played like a year ago). It would give a lot of incentive continue playing and improve your skill.
Battlefront 2 is what I instantly thought of before seeing the picture. Game is absolutely amazing now! If you haven’t played it recently then you seriously need to go back and play it. You will not be disappointed!

I watched the bad messy pay-to-win game to become this amazing game that has kept me hooked ever since. I was a playtester for the original version of Fortnite, long before it became the crappy battle royale game it is today. The original gameplay was SO much better. I actually feel a little sad that most people will never know the original intention, and how much fun it really was. It was much more of a survival/base building type of game.
I remember seeing videos for it way before the battle royale craze. Really was excited to see it. Such a shame it never happened. It's fun and all, but not really my thing

I really love when devs are able to flesh out games over a longer period of time. Fact is, developing a game is incredibly difficult especially these days with how much is expected from games and how much is possible. Also, frankly, a lot of game dev teams seem to have pretty terrible development cycles and management so it's not really surprising when they have bad releases.
Just started playing No Man Sky about two weeks ago, and I'm absolutely loving it. It gets better and better too, a lot of things are made better than in any other game I've played. So amazing that Hello Games actually got the game they dreamed of and even made it better than that in some ways.
I think when you note that the FF14 original game "feel so far away" it affects your ranking of it on this specific list- I say this because as noted in the multi hour documentary on how the game was saved, this ENTIRE game was remade rather than just delivering on promises. No other game on this list can say that
It's actually just a different game. 2.o is a new version of the base game. Close to it might be, we'll see, the Cyberpunk overhaul that will be released via a patch before the DLC in September.

I liked the older MMOs like SWG back in the day but after they finished that game I haven’t been able to get into any MMOs - ESO, FF14, GW2, WOW, SWTOR - none of them really did anything for me.

When I started no man's sky I figured it was going to be a non-stop-untill-you-die arcade-type title. I never looked deeper than my first three deaths because I started it on stadia a month ago (when I got stadia) and assumed it was just a throwaway game like I assumed the rest on the platform were. Now that I've enjoyed so many titles on there and now that your channel has shared some praise, I'm thinking I'll give it another shot. Also after watching your video I've felt motivated to start another character on diablo 3. I've played on and off since release night when I picked up my collector's edition pc version. I'm gonna keep doing what I do and play for this sweet blizzard cinematics.

Battlefront II is the only one of these games i've played. I bought it about two months after launch and played it for like a day and then stopped. I didn't come back to it until a year later. Now it's great! And now it's kind of blowing up and getting so many new players that the servers actually crashed, all because it's free to play now.
This is useful for me since I'm making a free pc game called BRUTAL SHOOTER on itch. I can use the information on why some games fail and try to avoid them if it applies to my game. *Just Interesting useful stuff!*

Sea of Thives didn't fail at first, it gained huge popularity in just the beta, I pre ordered it and after a few months after day 1 there were massive changes, if anything it went sky high and failed slightly, it still has millions consistent players all over the world 24/7

Worse, the lies that to this day haven't been addressed or met in the game! We never got an apology, or a statement. We never got what they promised. Sure it's improved, but I'm not sure why everyone is so willing to just pretend that it never happened and just decide it isn't a problem any more just because it's improved from launch to remain something less than what they said it would be.

Boundless. It somewhat came out to absolutely no fanfare. It’s a really well made Minecraft MMORPG with micro transactions that you can 100% avoid and still have a rich experience. They even allow you to disable the real money shop so you never have to think about it. The game is still being updated. It has a friendly community and fun atmosphere. A 100% user ran economy. Really, if you haven’t seen it, give it a checkout. Thanks for the cool video!

Halo the master chief collection belongs on this. You couldn’t get into multiplayer matches at launch so they fixed the servers added reach and ODST to it as well as fixing CE’s graphical downgrades and now add new content every season. It’s really cool to see stuff added to games that are over 10 years old
Unpopular opinion on Fortnite, but I LOVED the Save The World mode. I personally dislike online shooters and just enjoyed getting together with friends and building massive trap mazes for the enemies to die in. It was strategic and difficult at times and that made it very fun.
It's kinda sad seeing so many games were broken or incomplete at launch on this list. We sadly made this possible as a community. :( Inexcusable for big companies like Microsoft or EA, but I still feel bad for Hello Games and I'm happy they as a smaller studio got on track in the end!
Let's all hope cyberpunk will be in the part 2 of this.

I played it when it was completely fixed and still didn't enjoy it AT ALL. It's still a shit game.
Syndicate has almost the exact same parkour and combat. The changes are minimal

Doubt it. Right now, it's all about performance, stability, and bugs. If they ever overhaul game systems, it will be a year from now at least.

Battlefront 2 deserves to be on this list. one of my favourite games of all time, i got it on launch for Christmas. I watched the bad messy pay-to-win game to become this amazing game that has kept me hooked ever since. I am praying that there will be a battlefront 3 as it would be a success in my opinion using the knowledge that they have from the launch from battlefront 2
I was a playtester for the original version of Fortnite, long before it became the crappy battle royale game it is today. The original gameplay was SO much better. I actually feel a little sad that most people will never know the original intention, and how much fun it really was.
It was much more of a survival/base building type of game.
I remember seeing videos for it way before the battle royale craze. Really was excited to see it. Such a shame it never happened. It's fun and all, but not really my thing

I really love when devs are able to flesh out games over a longer period of time. Fact is, developing a game is incredibly difficult especially these days with how much is expected from games and how much is possible. Also, frankly, a lot of game dev teams seem to have pretty terrible development cycles and management so it's not really surprising when they have bad releases.
All i wanted from fallout 76 was a 2 player co-op. Simple story driven two players.

Just started playing No Man Sky about two weeks ago, and I'm absolutely loving it. It gets better and better too, a lot of things are made better than in any other game I've played. So amazing that Hello Games actually got the game they dreamed of and even made it better than that in some ways.
I think when you note that the FF14 original game "feel so far away" it affects your ranking of it on this specific list- I say this because as noted in the multi hour documentary on how the game was saved, this ENTIRE game was remade rather than just delivering on promises. No other game on this list can say that

@@LightningsGames on PC. Fps is absolute garbage on last gen consoles. 15fps sometimes average probably 25 fps at most. Gets hard on the eyes

@@VeraTheTabbynx gotcha - didn’t know that! I have tried several times since to jump in ESO but it just didn’t hit it with me. I liked the older MMOs like SWG back in the day but after they finished that game I haven’t been able to get into any MMOs - ESO, FF14, GW2, WOW, SWTOR - none of them really did anything for me.

Great is overestimating. The Ai is still dumber than bread and the story could have been 10 times better. I mean, they had Jon freaking Bernthal as the villain and still Managed to make this story shitty
@@nilssuabia791 have you played it recently? I felt the ai was vastly improved compared to what was shown at launch. And the story does become weak at times but I liked it overall.

When I started no man's sky I figured it was going to be a non-stop-untill-you-die arcade-type title. I never looked deeper than my first three deaths because I started it on stadia a month ago (when I got stadia) and assumed it was just a throwaway game like I assumed the rest on the platform were. Now that I've enjoyed so many titles on there and now that your channel has shared some praise, I'm thinking I'll give it another shot.
Also after watching your video I've felt motivated to start another character on diablo 3. I've played on and off since release night when I picked up my collector's edition pc version. I'm gonna keep doing what I do and play for this sweet blizzard cinematics.
Sea of Thieves made its biggest comeback with a huge Steam launch. Won some awards over a year after the original release.

@@BrandonGavin_EDC Every FF game is its own unique world and story. But there's easter eggs in 14 for FF fans. But no you don't have to be a fan. Try the unlimited free trial if you're curious. A Realm Reborn is slow however, but it's worth it.

Battlefront II is the only one of these games i've played. I bought it about two months after launch and played it for like a day and then stopped. I didn't come back to it until a year later. Now it's great! And now it's kind of blowing up and getting so many new players that the servers actually crashed, all because it's free to play now.
Before watching, I’m guessing Battlefront 2, No Mans Sky, Among Us, and maybe Sea of Thieves are here, with either BF2 or NMS being number 1

For me, the game itself is an amazing 10/10 game, but the experience is brought down by bugs, glitches, problems with console experiences, and many other things that made the game worse. It’s an amazing game, and I can really visualize the fantastic game that it can be once the developers fix it, but right now it’s not really worth buying.

Still 'done' with Bethesda/FO76. They are going to have to do something truly incredible for me to ever entertain buying from them again. Also, being disabled and not having the physical attributes that allow for twitch-shooting in things like PVP, so most multiplayer games are closed to me. I'll never forgive them for destroying my love of single-player Fallout.
Fallout 76 is literally 99% PvE and can be played totally solo.

Sea of Thives didn't fail at first, it gained huge popularity in just the beta, I pre ordered it and after a few months after day 1 there were massive changes, if anything it went sky high and failed slightly, it still has millions consistent players all over the world 24/7
I still play from time to time, I hardly ever get attacked by others and often enough I go hours just doing my thing without anyone bothering me

"The graphics were muddy in spots". That's an understatement. All Bethesda Game Studios games graphically seem to look about a generation behind at the time of their release. Imo Fallout 76 was visually the worst looking game of the last decade.

The hype train was based due to all the lies the company fed their customers. Which resulted in a huge lawsuit against the company.
Worse, the lies that to this day haven't been addressed or met in the game! We never got an apology, or a statement. We never got what they promised. Sure it's improved, but I'm not sure why everyone is so willing to just pretend that it never happened and just decide it isn't a problem any more just because it's improved from launch to remain something less than what they said it would be.

In all honesty man, I get that you want to remain positive and I admire that, but forgiveness is a personal thing and this company did not do anything to me personally. I'm not going to forgive them because I don't hate them. But I AM going to remember what this company did and use that to make informed decisions about them in the future. I absolutely do not trust them. No one should. When they add the features they promised OR they acknowledge what they did, that trust may begin to be rebuilt. But so long as we say nothing and they let us forget, we're sending the message that game devs can lie and it's okay because eventually people will forget about it and trust will be restored. There's nothing to forgive and I'm not going to forget.

Boundless. It somewhat came out to absolutely no fanfare. It’s a really well made Minecraft MMORPG with micro transactions that you can 100% avoid and still have a rich experience. They even allow you to disable the real money shop so you never have to think about it. The game is still being updated. It has a friendly community and fun atmosphere. A 100% user ran economy. Really, if you haven’t seen it, give it a checkout. Thanks for the cool video!

Halo the master chief collection belongs on this. You couldn’t get into multiplayer matches at launch so they fixed the servers added reach and ODST to it as well as fixing CE’s graphical downgrades and now add new content every season. It’s really cool to see stuff added to games that are over 10 years old
Unpopular opinion on Fortnite, but I LOVED the Save The World mode. I personally dislike online shooters and just enjoyed getting together with friends and building massive trap mazes for the enemies to die in. It was strategic and difficult at times and that made it very fun.
I genuinely hope Cyberpunk makes it to this list someday.

It's kinda sad seeing so many games were broken or incomplete at launch on this list. We sadly made this possible as a community. :( Inexcusable for big companies like Microsoft or EA, but I still feel bad for Hello Games and I'm happy they as a smaller studio got on track in the end!
