I'm building a high power version of this deck and finding reliable information has been a chore. Particularly so, as I'm new to commander so I don't immediately recognize what makes a deck High Power vs CEDH worthy. Your video has been incredibly helpful, and I've returned to it several times while learning this deck and how to build it to my liking. Still wrapping up, but your video has been a tremendous help. Thank you, very much.
Your content is exactly what I was looking for as I begin to explore cEDH. I absolutely love the thorough and clean presentation along with the critique on the various list's card selections. It's probably outside the scope of these videos, but I would love to hear more about how these commanders stack up against specific established cEDH strategies. For example, does the Jeskai player receive enough compensation for omitting black when those thief decks get access to all their staple black tutors/combos/Opposition Agent? In a purely competitive context where money is no object, how would you convince someone that Jeskai colors are the way to go?
First time viewer and instant subscriber! Your presentation is super clean and pleasing to listen to, and comparing different/fringe decks in this format makes for interesting content! Would you be able to explain how Dack combos in Vadrok? Thanks :)
Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you liked it! I'm personally pretty attached to Jeskai, so this was a lot of fun to make. Absolutely! Once you've established infinite mana and have drawn your deck, you have two routes with Dack Fayden. If you mutate Vadrok and Lore Drakkis onto the same creature, you get one free cast and one recurred instant or sorcery. This let's you bounce both the pile and Dack Fayden, so you can infinitely cast and activate Dack Fayden to mill your opponents. This can also be done with Twinflame, which let's you get infinite spell casts of instants and sorceries cmc 3 or less. You don't necessarily have to have your entire deck drawn as long as you have access to Lore Drakkis or Twinflame. You could mill yourself, recur Underworld Breach with Sevinne' Reclamation, cast Lore Drakkis, and go from there.
Absolutely love the video man nice quality and you show a strong innate ability to understand decks, it's absolutely hilarious to me that you did this video in the week I had exploration in the deck lmfao, I do agree I should be on at least one of the pyroblasts tho I just keep forgetting to find a slot for it, and you'd be surprised about how good manifold insights is, worst 3 out of the top 10 nonlands in a deck with pretty high card quality is still pretty damn good haha, thanks again for the feature love the vid and you definitely got a sub from me
Also a comment on the dreadhorde arcanist bit, with Vadrok mutated onto it, it's power is now 3 so you can cast most of the deck with it, it's really good for wheeling 3 times in a row lmfao. Cast, mutate, attack.
I'm glad you like it! I really enjoyed going over your deck. Sorry about the bad timing on that, I've started reaching out to authors so things like whether or not a card is being tested can be noted. I'm really torn on Manifold Insights. It lets you see a lot of cards, but it's more expensive for a draw spell. I keep going back and forth on it. I didn't think about how Arcanist and Vadrok would interact, that can really push its powerlevel up.
Sure! Per the list on the Decklist Database by infiniteimoc, TWICE, and Lerker, it essentially serves as a second Birthing Pod, The typical line is: Cast Yisan. Untap with Yisan. Activate Yisan for Quirion Ranger, then activate Ranger to Untap Yisan. Activate Yisan for a 2 cmc dork or stax piece. Untap with Yisan again. Activate Yisan to find Village Bell-Ringer, untapping all your creatures. Activate Yisan to find Felidar Guardian, flickering Village Bell-Ringer, untapping all your creatures. Activate Yisan to find Kiki-Jiki. Profit. You can find the full list and primer here: www.moxfield.com/decks/QpEuDVXpakCo50Rks4enMw
With Lore Drakkis and Vadrok or the Twinflame combo online, you get to multiple bounces with each iteration. From there, you can activate Dack targeting an opponent, bounce him, and recast him to mill your opponents.
How about kykar antistax buyback storm with medalions, memory crystal (copying it with copy artifact mirrormade etc?) then evangelize or capsize everything ? :D or just win with searing touch ? tutor anything with mystic speculation + memory crystal + phyrexian altar ? :D I am gonna build it in notime...
@@RecurringInsight yo I have builded it, but it was kinda slow (too many combo cards needed) so I have disassembled it and built orvar, it was faster but mono color isn't that fun (I won with copying arcane signet over and over and won with sentinel tower). But I am building kykar again, so I let u know when it's finished.

I dont know how many times I have replayed this video trying to find the most optimal combination of cards for a kykar deck

Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks so much for the feedback! I'll try adding in a meta section along with a commander breakdown section in my next video.
I'm a huge fan of Mana Echoes in any Kykar build.
That can do work. My buddy has it in a Krenko deck and it enables some pretty crazy turns.
2 uploads in 1 day??? what a pleasant surprise
Glad you enjoyed it!

how is dack fayden a win con?

That sounds like an interesting alternative to the typical Kykar lists. Would you mind dming me the link when you finish?

@@RecurringInsight now I have picked up jeskai control theme.
Narset is missing 😞
Sorry fam. It was between Vadrok and Narset, and Vadrok looked way too interesting to not include.
Lol that’s a fluorescent light bulb, not an LED
Ishai/Jeska to beat faces imo.
It is nice how much pressure they can yield. I have definitely died to a Ishai doing triple damage.
