  • We are at the Big Buddha, Wat Phra Yai, on the Island of Koh Samui in Thailand. This is a tour of the area in and around the Big Buddha Island where this huge Buddha statue is located. It is free to visit Ko Samui´s Big Buddha, but visitors must take note of and conform to the strict dress codes which you are asked to respect (see these within the video). Koh Samui´s "Big Buddha" is without a doubdt one of the island´s Top Tourist Attractions. This attraction is located at the northern end of the Island in the Bang Rak area just above Koh Samui International Airport.

As its name indicates, it is home to a giant, 12-metre high gold-painted Buddha statue. Since being built in 1972, it has become one of Ko Samui's main tourist attractions and a major landmark.

      This place is well worth a visit and we always pay a visit here when in Koh Samui! There are a few restaurants and plenty of street food stands so a snack and drink are always near by.. Thanks for watching and commenting Steve :-D

    Nice to see the big Buddha in Thai. There also have big Buddha in Hong Kong but in Lantau island. Interesting video

    First time l went to Ko Samui 1989 a great place no Mcdonald, Starbucks, Boots.now way,way,to COMMERCIAL, Same at big buddha It's a Religious Site,But selling T,shirt, berger,s fries etc etc to Farangs,change not always for the best,
    As Now no tourist, everyone on the rags of there are,
