As a fellow Brit, I went to Langkawi back in Jan 2017 for 1 week and stayed in Pantai Cenang. I have visited Malaysia 5 times, Thailand 4 times, Indonesia and Philippines twice each and Singapore 3 times. And I would say that I did prefer Langkawi over Penang or Bali (Indonesia) or Phuket (Thailand). There are better and pristine beaches off the east coast of Malaysia like the Perhentian Islands, Redang Island, Tioman Island and Kapas Island - all of them I have visited. As for Thailand, been to Koh Phi Phi quite a few times, Phuket, Krabi twice, Koh Samui, Koh Tao, Koh Phangan, Koh Lanta and Koh Lipe twice (one was a day trip from Langkawi). Hope you have tried the SkyCab and Sky Bridge as well. Lombok is my favourite island in Indonesia and Boracay and Palawan in the Philippines
@@rezzyg77 I'll say Koh Phi Phi and Koh Lipe although Koh Samui and Koh Tao were great. Railey is not an island but part of the peninsula which is only accessible by boat - and it is stunning. EDIT: And I've recently done my 6th visit to Malaysia
@@brothersman524 I've heard good things about Koh Lanta. Do you think its worth a visit? PS: As a Malaysian I'm glad you enjoy our country and keep coming back.
@@rezzyg77 Koh Lanta is worth a visit. I actually did a day trip from Langkawi to Koh Lipe but it is seasonal as the boat trips are only offered between November and April during the dry season. Absolutely love Malaysia and I am planning to retire there in probably 6 years time if the MM2H program improves
@@tyandsoph I really regret not trying the Teh Tarik after watching this! I don't normally drink caffeine (even though I really like tea & coffee) and now I'm so curious!! 😅Next time!
4:53 Filling up the tank, as with many other things, is self service in Malaysia, unlike other Southeast Asian countries (except Singapore and Brunei). Reason : Shortage of locals to do 3D. Most 3D work are usually by migrant/foreign workers. PS: You could also pay by credit card at the pump instead of paying at the cashier.
Roti canai n teh tarik, the staples breakfast for Malaysian..during the hot weather I recommend u guys hang out at the waterfalls💦, it feels so good...
We too hv many other islands like Thailand, Philippines and indonesia. They are in east coast and borneo. Although those 3 countries have more islands than us, we still hv stunning islands.
Handsome couple... hope u both enjoy n ve pleasant stay in Malaysia esp in Langkawi.. hopefully the price/ daily expenses here on average is reasonable... Right??😊

There a fireshow at the beach during night. Not recommend to visit cable car during cloudy day due to poor visibility. You may try bronok during lunch at Kak Yan Restaurant.

Lang = eagle
Kawi = type of rock that the eagle talons grip on, hence the huge bird statue & rock
Ah cool thank you :)
kawi means reddish colour
you can use grab car to save more money than using a taxi

In Malay, there is no 'c" pronounced as 'k'. it should sound like your 'ch' in english. Hope it helps
