okay, i have gotten to this step already, as i've been scouring the web and YT and every other resource for help, my challenge is you see when you get that email link, instead of that, i have a custom screen already designed and would like for the user to jump straight to that screen and change their password in-app

I don't think firebase provides such functionality through their SDK. But you can check their rest APIs for that.
