I just received a blank Whitman Folder and a roll of random US Silver Dimes from APMEX to see how many blanks I could fill with a roll of dimes. Could I get more silver dimes than a 3rd grader?

I like to buy $100 bags of mercs. I did before both metals surged several weeks ago. I don't believe they searched the bag as there were stunners in there, as well as a semi-key date in unusually good condition. The spread of years (if your curious) is below:
10s $2.80
20s $8.50
30s $21.20
40s $67.50
Even buying a $100 dollar bag, teens take time to accumulate lol VERY good bag here though. The 1919-D is a beauty. I'd wager that an auction could reach $50 - $100 for it alone.

That was a fun look back in time. I should probably look at some of my old collection from when I was a kid. I remember some things that I have, but certainly not all. Thanks!
This dime book stands out from the old days because there was only two ways it got filled. Either finding a dime here or a dime there from the family change jar, but the BIG contribution from my uncle who provided us with a whole roll of dimes.
So it kind of stands out because i know where they came from!

I'm in my late 50's, and have never, ever, even once seen a Mercury dime in circulation, whether in rolls or elsewhere. I have a retail business, where we have cash transactions and we get rolls of change from the bank 4 or 5 days a week. I've never seen a 1964 or earlier dime, quarter, or half dollar in our till. I haven't seen even a wheat penny in at least 20 years.
They are very rare. Being a cash using customer, I might get a silver coin in my change once a year at best. Maybe every other year.

My 5th grade teacher started me on the path of coin collecting as he would bring in different coins that we didn't see in change back in the 70's.
Buffalo Nickels, Indiana head penny's, and steal cents, to name a few.

With respect to the metric system, you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. The old system is very ingrained culturally and experience wise. People know what it is like to walk a mile or to meet a 6 foot tall guy. Hard to convert that to metric system.

No problem with $28 silver except that it needs to go up a lot more to reach true price value in USD. Also, Apmex is terrible. Horrible customer service and horrible pricing.
We may get our chance soon again at up and beyond $28 silver.

ive had it happen once got 40 rolls in dimes all were silver then 2 months later find another 6 rolls of silver dimes it was a collection hoard

@@SilverHeist took years and getting to know the tellers very well but over all i was luck i sometimes will fact a dollar face in silver or just one coin a week it really depends but with the new KC the 3rd coinage coming out its a lot harder to find silver here in canada best find was find a 1960 d roose dime ender on saterday from only two rolls
