- Hey guys! Today we are taking a look at Cleo’s new look for g3 of monster high! This vid was supposed to be out like two weeks ago LOL! What are your thoughts on her?

On her iCoffin and cup: The iCoffin is a sarcophagus with the head of Anubis (ancient Egyptian god of the dead). The cup also has an Anubis head and looks like a traditional jar used to preserve the internal organs. I dont remember if there's a specific jar that would have Anubis for a specific organ. But these are GREAT details.
Cleo's g1 design always came off as "bratz doll in cheap Halloween costume". Her g3 design? GORGEOUS. I love her darker skintone, long dark hair, and the varying shades of blue. She actually looks like royalty now! My favorite part about the dark blue and gold is that Lapis Lazuli is a gemstone that was historically used in ancient Egypt for jewelry. Her makeup also is so much more interesting than her original design.
I LOVE THAT THEY ACTUALLY WENT THAT EXTRA MILE THOUGH it's totally tickling that part of my brain that's one Brendan Fraser mummy movie rewatching away from falling right back into my ancient Egyptian hyper fixation phase.
as a long time fan of Cleo (well, only for abt 4 years), i agree. she was the reason why i became more interested in ancient egyptian history & i loved how even if g3 is controversial and all, i still can appreciate the care and details they put for her like her boots... tho i feel like the least they could've done was kept her bangs or her colour scheme more to browns, tan and golds so that it wouldnt clash with Nefera or Frankie but thats just me :')
Gen 3 Cleo is goregeous and my current favorite of the Gen 3 dolls (until Nefera comes out at least). I feel like Cleo looks the most like herself and her clothes are decent. I love the gold eyes and the lapus lazuli blue color in the hair. I wasn't feeling the boots on my Cleo though, so I just restyled her in Daphne Minton's ankke strap heels paired with Poppy Rowan's gold socks from RH, and they look so good on her.

I think Tut fits Cleo really well! Mostly because I want to see Tut in a purse, like a fancy purse puppy
I love her hair, it's so soft and the color suits her nicely. However her hair doesn't feel like poly hair. I am curious how you can tell?
@@Cheese_dinosaur mine feels extremely soft like im shocked is soo soft im not joking but it did have some fall out idk why
Idk if its because of the box that her hair fall a bit but at least it wasn't a lot just a tiny ball of gold and blue
@@Cheese_dinosaur that's the thing clawdeens feels like a sponge when you just put water on it. Cleo's hair does not feel like it. It feels soft and healthy, even on the tips.
@@Cheese_dinosaur the only complain is her mini make up pallet mine came damaged it’s extremely stuck for opening and the handle that holds the other part is bent and I hope they put a new version of a doll stand
I’m glad you got that eyeshadow case open so easily, mine was a nightmare to open. But yeah, she’s my fav character design (sorry everyone else).
I wasn't even sure it actually opened since it was so difficult and I was afraid to break it.

Canopic Jars were used in the mummification process to hold a mummy's organs. Contrary to popular belief they did NOT remove the heart during mummification.

I thought it was super cool too! But I did find it kinda gross because that’s for organs lol. (I’m in a super interested in Ancient Egypt phase too)
Her phone case is Anubis, I think. Hes an ancient egyptian god, hes pretty cool

And the reason they use polypropylene hair instead of saran, is beacuse of the color. It wouldnt be the right color if it was saran, thats why they use polypropylene :>
That's Mattel's explanation, but I don't believe it. You can get bright colors with saran as well. I think they're full of it. I think the real reason is cost, personally.
I love cloe's new doll but it doesn't feel like cloe sadly

I didn’t realize she had poly hair? Mines feels really soft and I boiled washed it and didn’t even notice? Tbh I felt like my Cleo had the softest hair out of all of G3.
Yeah, i think her hair is pretty healthy. Honestly everytime people complain about poly hair it makes me feel uncomfortable and just makes me feel like not caring what hair type they use makes me a bad collector ☹️
Her hair is definitely saran. I think the feel of the tinsel in her hair has some people fooled.
So sad she didn't come with the outfit in her artwork ☹️

I HOPE that cleo, clawdeen, duece and lagoona get more like nice and good looks like frankie and draculaura. i get those two are fun to create for based on my own personal style they are my favorites. but i just hope all dolls get the same effort going forward.
My step mom made the comment that g1 dolls look more high school like, whereas the g3 dolls look like they could be their moms. Ever since I heard that I cannot unsee it now lol
It seems the opposite, for me. For me, the G3 dolls look younger.
I can't WAIT till she arrives! I ordered her, Twyla, Frankie and Lagoona yesterday from Amazon because I CANT WAIT till they arrive in The Netherlands, It's taking way tooooo long :3

Idk why but G3 cleo reminds me of cleo's sister for some reason, but G3's design is really cool I like it alot.
I think it is the hair, nefera had blue hair when cleo had black brown hair.

They’re popping up in Australia too!! I managed to get the main 5 (with the help of a friend in a small country town!) but they were so hard to get 😭 I haven’t found them since, which sucks bc I wanted to get them for my nieces as a keepsake for Christmas. They would each get one and I think they would’ve loved them

@@LuciesCafe the originals were sort of like accessories and were actual buyable bandages. I will not accept moulded, unpainted bandages and bandage inspired sleeves. They can't do our queen dirty like that.

@@LuciesCafe I would atleast like the bandages to be painted in my opinion. They just look cheap and like a factory mistake under certain lights (especially under my light as its LED) I feel like they focused more on the fashion and the panicked and said "oh yeah, she's a mummy! Quick throw some badages on the mould - there's no room on the outfit!"

I like how g3 Cleo has the mummy wraps molded onto her body but I wish they were painted, it's really cool to see them putting the extra details into her because lore-wise, she should always be wrapped and this gives outfit change options without messing with that BUT it's weird that it's flesh toned.
I also much prefer original Cleo's outfit or even her outfit in her art, it'd be nice if her boots were better and she had the same blunt cut bangs that were so iconic to her imo(others had them but they were hers). Also her face print is a bit odd how her eye makeup has somewhat of a hard cut where the print ends, it'd be cool if it went further back on her head almost into her hair line.

They're ok, won't go out of my way to get them tho . Imo G2 runs circles around this reboot and we all know G1 is SUPERIOR!
I personally like Draculaura, Cleo, Lagoona, and Frankie in this gen way more.

@@starrwannabe1099 okay. But i perfer this gen over the first one. The gen 1 cleo is ugly as hell, and this is coming from someone who grew up with this gen. Something about her face is so offputting
