I told myself I wouldn’t cry and I did. I swear this is every filial child’s dream is to pay it back to their parents. Your dad kept moving out of frame and that made me cry too because it was almost like he was shy to show his emotion on camera. Your mom is such a mom and I can tell she is great.

My mom (we're chinese btw) was "what? Are you crazy? This is so expensive! No!" when I bought her a Nintendo Switch and a Ring Fit game last month. Her first console.
Within 24 hours of setting it up
Mom: "I played about 2/3 of the game."
Me: "What? I've only played like 2 levels and a few minigames."
Mom: "But the machine has a sort of burning smell..."
Me: "Wait no we might have to return it and get it exchanged--"
Mom: "If it's not a big problem I can live with it!"
Me: "It's $300. Let's spend the money properly and get what we paid for. I don't want you to get into an electrical accident."

The switch was okay and it stopped smelling like burning. My mom is insanely attached to it.

The story that he and his parents are involved in a NON-PROFIT movements such as helping those underprivileged ones is a complete lie and for the simple-minded ones to believe in. Just look at the sedan, houses and apartments he possesses, where is the money coming from? Robbing the banks or donations from some philanthropists? I'm a Malaysian teacher who teaches Mandarin Chinese in Singapore.

Damn. I feel you. My mom passed when I was young and it's still my biggest regret to this day that I never got to tell her thank you. Even now, well into adulthood, I've learned that the pain never goes away.. you merely become stronger..

In 2011, my sis and i did the same for our mom. We got her a new house with a nice garden so she could finally plant those flowers she always wanted. She had a happy 3 years in that house, then one night she went to bed and never woke up.
Guys, cherish your parents. Even if they were tough(esp immigrant parents) on you growing up, whatever happened in the past, let it go. Dont leave anything unsaid, dont let any petty disagreements fill you with a lifetime of regret. Life is too short, if you're able to look after your parents and those close to you, do it!

It's a lovely condo in a convenient building to where Mikey's new restaurant is located, where his folks like to shop every day and won't need to drive to and they'll be able to see each other daily if they want. A win - win for everyone. Congratulations to both Mikey and his folks!

The fact you are speaking Mandarin with your parents made me tear up 🥺 It’s so important to know your origin culture language even if you are grown and raised up in another country. So many of my friends who don’t know how to speak Mandarin to their parents although they are Chinese descent. As a second generation Chinese American grown in America I am proud of you 👍💖👍

This is really heartwarming and to see how happy your parents is. My family been living on rented place since i’m young and my mom always wanted us to have a place on our own. When I finally start working and finally bought a house and was doing renovation , my mum was happy but unfortunately she din get the chance to move in as she got stroke one day and never recovered and passed away after. So I was really happy to see that you are doing wat u did for your parents 👍
Got teary eyed when she was saying " thank you son".... we moms love it when our children show us some love....and buying them a house is an amazing gift from children to parents , I did that for my parents too, it's a very Filipino or Asian thing....
