Long time subscriber, I can't believe how big hes getting!
"A puck knob moves the balance point down on the bat, allowing the batter to increase bat speed because the balance point is closer to the hands." That is a quote from your link. Mickey Mantle's bat in his younger days was 35" 38 oz, 1 1/8" handle with a balance point of 23 inches, and so the remainder of the barrel was 12 inches, whereas the bat in the link is 33" 30 oz with a balance point of 24" leaving only 9" of barrel. It's no wonder Mantle with his tools was part of the 500 foot club. One can see that the thicker, heavier handle moves the balance point closer to the handle, and thus can help increase bat speed. Almost all guys in the recent past and today hate the heavier, thicker handle bat, but I swear by it.
Best channel going. Thanks for sharing everything you do!
Just ordered, let's give it a shot!
Any chance you have a link to where it states these can be used in-game for USSSA? I bought 2 for my son (a small for his Hype Fire -8 and a large for his CatX Connect -10). I just want to be able to confirm it's legal in case another team opposed its use.
This Velo Knob works great. Only issue we are having is it comes off after 20-30 swings in bp. My son’s bat has a tapered knob and his bottom hand must be pushing on it. Haven’t figured out how to remedy this yet.
This is like swing weight in golf. You are adding weight but because it is counterweight it helps not hurts you. And it’s advantageous because Force = Mass X Acceleration!
Cat x 2. USA came out today 8/19 is matty getting one soon ?
Are these knob weights going to be legal in little league? Love the concept, especially for the younger guys, where confidence in the swing is king.
The Velo Puck is currently approved for in game use for USSSA, Perfect Game, National Amateur Baseball Federation, and more coming soon.
Just got one for my son. Got the large one. It does work but feel it should have been a bit heavier.
Hey Matt, Matty's swing looks incredible! Did the puck increase exit velocity or distance, or is it just a feel?
Thanks! We only used it for about 20 swings, but he was consistently above 60 mph exit speed which is very good for him. And he almost broke his all-time distance record in those 20 swings as well.
@AntonelliBaseball great sign! I moved my son who is 7 and 55lbs to a 29 -10 Icon this season from a 27. The carry on the ball is very noticeable, always looking to learn!
Hi coach Matt good to see Matty in vids could you do some hires the players?❤❤
What a great swing that dude is sporting. Expected nothing less really... way to go! And and awesome personality to go with it. Thanks for the vid, and great to see you toping 250k subs... so well deserved.
Thank you!
My son is also 10 years old and is a lefty. What size velo puck did Matty use in the video?
@@jonchoi1233 the small one
thanks for the video
You're welcome!
Fella, 99.9% this is illegal in LL Rules. I believe spacers are allowed, but players are not allowed to add a nob to their bat. Might be legal in USSSA?
@geraldcoffman2501 The Velo puck is currently approved for in game use in USSSA, Perfect Game, NABF. With more coming soon
I don't know, swinging light bats is probably the major issue why kids don't swing correctly, why their hands jump the sequence and they swing all arms. the best advice i was ever given was to find the heaviest bat i could and learn to hit with it (Jeff A). even if it just makes it feel lighter I'm not so sure its a good idea for young kids still learning. You would have to be very disciplined.
Teaches you how to make your barrel go rearward and to use your body. Arms are the enemy of the swing
I disagree, my son had to swing a BBCOR bat in 7th grade this past year. Unless you’re above average size for that age you’re not hitting consistently. It’s different for all his PG ball using USSSA bats
Nope. Most kids use bats that are too heavy. They can't control the heavy bat and destroys their swing.
What size puck did you get the Large or Small for the hype fire? My son has a 26" drop 10 catx and it looks like he will need a large as the bottom of the knob is around 2".
The Catx would take the Large size. The Hype fire would be the small size.
Interesting in golf you want MORE MOI for forgiveness but you don't in a baseball bat
