I played Terraria but I have to unlock the world one grid at a time, this is the terraria gridlock challenge, every time we want to expand our reach, we must pay more and more gold.

To my knowledge, Gridlock was originally a RuneScape challenge/mod, my guess is that HappyDays just adapted it into Terraria, and then the mod was made.

Yeah, an extractinator or whatever would be REALLY useful here. Just collect loads of silt and slush and bam, free money and ores/gems to sell.
So... graveyard spawnrates were massively reduced due to being near a "town", which gives a hidden buff, about a little more than peace candle.... so yea... RIP
Demonite bar(from 3 ores) sells for 8 silver more than the ores do iirc (its the same after 1.4 update,but you were at 1.3,cuz fiery greatsword wasnt vulcano), and hell yoyo is better for boss grind than greatsword + you had a dart trap the first underground grid,you might have been able to make automatic money from statues as well.

I don't know if it is possible but it would be better if it gradually ramped up in coins (ex the 1st grid you unlock is only 3 golds, 2nd is 10, third is 25 and the rest are all 50 gold) I think it'd be a better early playstyle since it takes a little while to grind out that much gold early game
the turtle armour not being part of the beetle armour recipe is just part of the fargo's mutant mod I think

@@TUNDIRE409 I'm sure it did recently get changed yes, but I know it used to be turtle armour + beetle husks, just wasn't sure if it was 1.4.4 or an earlier version of 1.4
It was changed in 1.4.4
@@Finwolf29 This isn't 1.4.4, tmodloader has not been updated to 1.4.4 yet. Also it still requires turtle shell armour in 1.4.4.

When i watched happydays do this challenge and i thought it was gonna be a mod (similar to what you’re playing) and it kinda upset me that he kept the money when getting a new grid since it seemed a little unfair to keep it when you spent it on a grid, i would’ve just put it in the bin when i bought a new grid but he didn’t
He kept count of how much money he spent and throws it away after x amount of grids

selling the ore you get per grid isnt bad but it is a non renewable source of income as you have limited amounts of ore to mine, whereas wit the infinite boss summon it is renewable.

Fishing is one of the best ways to make money, it just takes way more time to start it off

In my gridlock i realized if you use a pot and cook fish it exponentially increases sell price so i basically abused that for the first few grids

The reason u can't catch good stuff is bait power lack of patience and the lack of water blocks u need 300 for non ocean

Yeah I should’ve turned down the cost of the grid. I’m about 30 hours (in total) into my play through aaaand I’ve just barely unlocked my first grid… what have I gotten myself into.
You can still change the cost even while in the world, go to settings (or workshop than manage mods if in main menu) than there should be a mod configuration, then go to the box challenge one then change the price

Fishing not a waste of time you just need the bait really, it takes a bit to get a good foshing stuff but there is a couple of things, then you should be good. My friends call me the fishermen, just becuase I know to much about terraria fishing.
