That V6 sound is glorious. I straight piped my Lexus IS250 recently and the screaming V6 is just amazing. I wanted to get a 350Z or 370Z but the taxes for any engine that is above 3 litres in Belgium is just insane, so I went with the 2.5L V6 in the Lexus. Love it love it love it. Maybe one day I’ll get my Z :)

Yeah your insurance and road use tax gets calculated on your engine displacement, kW and torque, safety features (the more you have, like sensors, emergency stop sensors, 4WD, … the less insurance you pay. The price also goes down the longer you drive without any incident, your fault or the other person’s fault. I pay somewhere between 800 and 900 euros a year (900-1000 US dollar) for road taxes and my current insurance is 680€ per year. I’ve never had an incident so it goes down almost 90€ every year. My dad for example, who’s never had an incident in more than 40 years of driving pays somewhere between 100 and 200 Euros for his insurance. Insurance is actually really okay in Belgium, it’s just the road taxes that are ridiculous. A 3.5 liter V6 would’ve cost me around 2500€ a year for the 350Z, while the 2.5 liter V6 of my IS250 “only” costs me 800-900€. 3L engines are the sweetspot here, once you go above 3L, yikes!

You can only swap your engine with the type of engine that belongs in your model of car. Like, I can’t put the IS350 3.5L V6 in my car. Even though the car is identical, the engine doesn’t belong to the IS250. I sort of know a guy who heavily tuned his bmw 330i or 340i, kinda forgot, to somewhere around 650hp. That’s what he says at least. I just know the car is an absolute rocketship. When he goes to his yearly road legality checkup, he removes his big mods and puts the originals back, so the firm doesn’t see it. They then check your car, lights, suspension, brakes and tires etc. Do some smog tests and whatever. Afterwards he just puts back his beemer into 650hp mode lmao. I just do that with my straight pipe. It’s not allowed. I remove my straight pipe for the checkup. Car gets road clearance for another year, and put the straight pipe back on. Exhaust modifications are only allowed freely if the part you install is certified for use in Europe. My self made straight pipe is illegal so I have to remove it once a year for the checkups. Belgium is ridiculous.

California for example has always been super strict with trying to get to the point of no mods and road side checks if pulled for exhaust or other suspected mods. Personally, I respect the lanes a bit more and go a bit slower in turn, but if you're comfortable then more power to ya. All I can say is easy up on the clutch with those downshifts, don't ever want the rear to chirp on the way down.

His is the HR version of the VQs so his doesn’t burn oil. DEs and especially the DE Rev Ups burn a lot of oil. My 05 G35 coupe burns oil so to fix that it’s best to get a catch can.

Driving is pretty good you need to learn better throttle and clutch control in my opinion. Just looks like your using the throttle like an on off switch. If you where smoother cornering speed would be much higher.
