The bad thing about Jeff is that he talks to much
I know you can quiet him down but he also talks while being on the menu and the new engineer’s voice is calm.
First impressions:
- Undercuts will be a lot harder with overcutting probably being the most viable option now, due to the tyre warmup.
- I like that you’re in control when forming the grid (hopefully pit lanes starts will be possible as a result)
- I can see the steering in to the pit box being more of a gimmick, but there will probably be an assist for that.
- The new HUD is better in my opinion
F1 2022 looks really promising. Adding porpoising would be the cherry on top🍒
I want porpoising aswell, but i race in the cockpit. It would probably suck for us, as our eyes wont balance the bouncing like they would irl.. And TV pod racers will not be affected

Hards wearing out after 19 laps in a 50% race, meanwhile Albon does an entire race on hards IRL and was still setting green laps right until he took them off. Also, RIP Jeff. I wonder if he'll be available as DLC?
I think the tyre wear is increased because everyone gets a free choice of tyres before a race. With this high tyre degradation and having to start on softs on a high deg track will be difficult if the bottom 10 start on mediums or hards.
I believe the logic behind it is that the tyre wear is in proportion to race distance. Say you choose to play a 50% race, the hards will last 50% of what they would if you were to play a 100% distance race.
Different track,different wear lets see this week how the hards will do in Miami and compare to the game

That is because of the different track and different situations on track. Also, the tire wear is relative to the race distance: all the compounds can handle more laps the longer the race is.

That Merc engine do be sounding kinda nice ngl, it might be easier for Codies to get the engines spot on since the wastegate is now integrated with the exhaust system and doesn't make that much extra noises

He practiced beforehand i think, he uploaded a track guide on the Mercedes channel as well, so he probably had the game at least a day before attempting this.

i love the ui. the engine sounds nice, and im sure they’re still working on them. the box in and line up manually features are something i didn’t know i needed.

The new display’s for the rpm, tyre wear etc look very neat and also match the on board display on the halo while you’re watching someone do a lap in an actual f1 race

If F1 2021 is anything to go by then 'Work in Progress' actually means 'Finished Product'.
What do you mean, F1 2021 had a major difference between early access and launch!
They..uh...made the damage model a bit worse
(Also for F1 22 they do still have to update the car models and engine sounds)
Yo the new merc sound is actually pretty fire and fairly close to irl
This turned out to be better than the actuall race in overtakes, no crashes (kinda) and more entertaining.
The most realistic part of this game is Hamilton staring in last 😂
For me it was max retiring due to engine issues😂 not just that, sainz having bad luck was also pretty realistic lol.

Since the tire-wear is higher than before, do you think it might scale now with race-length? Would make races for people like me that play on 25% of race-length, pretty fun since you actually have to pit

F1 22 - I really hope they'd add a "practice arena" like you get in Fifa, where you can practice different things like the manual pit stops, manual formation laps, SC and VSC restarts, tyre warm-up during SC restarts etc at all tracks!
This way you wouldn't have to try and trigger a SC in Grand Prix mode, or use flashbacks to practice the new manual elements of the new game.

Thanks for giving us a taste of the new game, the small additions should spice things up a bit more, and probably should play a part in the next esports season as well, since now time can actually be lost in the pit lane. And blistering pace, as always, bit painful to see a Merc overtake a Ferrari in the final corners of the final lap, but oh well, it's worth it.
