Thanks for covering this. Another VLOGer was talking about Chiang Mai's air quality in passing, but not a lot of detail. Glad you explained what was going on.
You were saying "hi" to the cows :) Are animals like cows impacted by this poor air quality and does it in turn impact humans, since we may be consuming the dairy products, milk etc? Thanks.
Hey, With almost 2 million residence in the province of Chiang Mai most the locals don’t have AC so are breathing the poor air quality 24/7 for 2-3 months. Most days I wouldn’t even know the air was poor until looking at the mountain visibility. I know hospital visits do increase…. That being said from my observation healthy live stock most likely don’t notice how bad it is. I would say milk products are fine as the lungs filter the air. Just my opinion. My wife and I for the year 2024 will leave Chiang Mai from February to April. Vietnam, Krabi Thailand, USA, Maldives are possible destinations. I love Chiang Mai but still on the fence if this is my forever home with the burning season.
In the past indonesia burn sumatra and kalimantan for farming, everyone suffered for 20 years. President jokowi managed to stop that. It takes commitment and integrity to do that.
It will be good. Rain should start coming any week now. We went horse back riding, and just had some epic water battles in Songkran and we didn’t notice anything. The air quality still sucks but not the end of the world.
Most ex-pats head south or over to Vietnam beaches during March and April. We always arrive CNX in June. I can handle the rain but never air pollution. Love the video! Cheers!
It's probable that you won't be able to see your own hands in the next episode. The authorities must go to the source of the problem in order to solve it from the start, rather than simply correcting it at the end. People who burn crops must be held accountable for the damage and face harsh penalties and fines.
Oh no. You will be able to go to songkran so that is a great positive. Most Thais wear the mask outside so something to consider. You will miss out on some beautiful nature if you were planning to view the city from the mountains. Most Thailand the air quality is not great just seems slightly worse in chiang mai. Let me know what you think after you explore the city.
Hey..could you pls update if the pollution levels are relatively better..planning a trip in mid may.. not planning actually..have already booked.. been tracking the AQI everyday.. 😢
Half are USA movies with original audio but have Thai subtitles. the other half are Thai movies with English subtitles. I enjoy watching them both. $8 a month can see unlimited movies at the theater.

February to April is the peak of burning. May is the start of the rainy season we just don’t know the exact day. One local told me some years rainy season starts in mid April.
talking about the thumbnail? I am such a small time creator so I will educate you. Two TV shows used a clip from my UA-cam video without my permission, and a newspaper I found. A lot of large creators on UA-cam use other peoples content and talk about it. CNN, Fox and all those news organizations as well generate content from others. I assume you also comment on all their work when they use other people work? This is all possible because of the fair use act. Definitely worth a read and how goverments around the world define fair use. When the weather clears up I will use a crystal clear photo of the mountains of my own to give you peace of mind.

Love all your videos! Been watching since PCT.
Wanting to visit early February is it going to be ok in the north ?
Nice video dude!!
Why tho? Why do they do the burning and why don’t they stop it????
Cheapest fastest way to clear the field. Most farmers are in extreme poverty.
Stay Safe and Thank you for this detailed update. This was unknown to us over here 😮. cyberhugs to you both, 🤗❤️Caitlin

@@CoryInThailand Appreciate the detailed inputs, hope you figure out what works best for you in the future.
When does it start to get really bad? Will I be okay in late February?
2022 it was great I was hiking and barely noticed it. 2023 was awful. I will be leaving February first for three months.
That being said lots of tourist still come and travel. Chiang mai is an amazing place and you won’t die if you visit.
@@CoryInThailand thanks man 🙏🏻

I'm supposed to go next month for training. Do you think it will clear up?

@@CoryInThailand That's good to hear, thank you sir.
What to do if you have a dog?

Because commodity prices have risen and the end of COVID. Air pollution has been pretty bad since end of December.
There has to be a better way; burning and creating so much pollution is just wreckless to me.
Bro you seem like such a nice fellow!!
was planning to go next week for 30 days... wow. what luck

When does the burning season start and when does it end?

@@CoryInThailand Thank you, does the rainy season end by October timeframe?
What happened bro!? Why Chiang Mail ??
Good plan to get away during that time!
Hey, breathing is over rated. LOL
Another tourist-selfie.....Sorry, is this a joke?
